Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated they noticed a large amount of oil underneath the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who informed the contact that there was an oil leak causing oil to leak onto the exhaust manifold and throughout the engine. The certified mechanic diagnosed that the oil filter housing failed and needed to be replaced. Found oil leaking from engin in my drive way. Took to garage who changed oil thay checked car . Found oil filter housing leaking oil . I went on line and found many people have this problem in 2014. Jeep changed this part from metal to plastic on the3 . 3 v6 engin I have an appointment on 11/26/2019 at island Jeep on staten island n. Y at 10 am the estimate for repair around 800 dollars my issue is after fixing it it can happen again . Because the plastic material used to make part is not suitable for the high temp on manifold whear it attaches to engin .

Check engine light came on. Had computer scanned. Code p0520 engine oil sensor failure was detected. Called Jeep warranty department and they said the repair was not covered by powertrain warranty. This sensor is located under the plenum and intake manifold which bolts to the engine heads. This vehicle only has 30,000 miles on it.

Failure Date: 10/03/2017

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While accelerating from a stop sign, the vehicle shifted into first gear. The vehicle felt as if it were in neutral and hesitated between gears. In addition, the vehicle launched forward. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The transmission module was reprogrammed, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was burning oil and blue smoke appeared from the tail pipe. The vehicle was taken back to paul bailey's Chrysler dealer where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs had carbon build up, the oil level was low, and the oil pressure sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 45,233.
