Purchased 2017 Jeep Cherokee trail hawk new 10/2016. If the Jeep is left to sit 2 days battery will drain and not restart Jeep. I have replaced the battery 3 times. Most recently 4-21-20. This new battery keeps draining and 2nd time I have had to call to have it recharged. Now battery is showing bad and then ok. Alternator has done the same but now showing bad. I think there is another issue that keeps draining batteries. I only have 27,000 miles on Jeep.

As I was driving on the highway out of no where my Jeep begun to stall and all the lights shut off and lost power, I almost was involved in an accident due to loss of control of the vehicle this is the 3 time it happens in 2 days it runs fine and out of no where this problem happens. I checked with the code reader and alot if codes with the letter u popped up steering wheel sensor and other things I've never heard ofg I waited for the vehicle to get cold checked the harness and put a new battery. Brought it to have the alternator checked at advanced auto and the alternator is fine. Leaving advanced auto it happened again and I had to call road side assistance to tow the Jeep home. This morning it started running fine on our way to the store a mile away samething. What's going on? I research and theres hundreds of people with the same issue yet no results or clarification.

It began with the check engine light staying on even after oil changes, then when I would turn on the ignition key it would make a tap tap sound as though it didnt have any power, or while I would be at a complete stop while at a light it would sound as though the Jeep was losing power and was going to turn off, then it did turn off on me when the light turned green. I had the battery checked by a friend he said it was reading that it has power and that the alternator is good also, then finally it left me stranded at wt work, it wouldn't turn on. I have no one to help me so I took a chance and asked a stranger to please check my car, he gave me a boost, it took 2 min to get my Jeep going again. . This morning at 4:30 am I wasnt able to go to work my Jeep wouldn't turn on. . So my neighbor took my to auto parts to buy a new battery, my Jeep is 2 years old. . I'm a single 52 year old female,I cant afford to be stranded or unable to get to work.
I was at a stop waiting to make a left hand turn, when I saw an opening to turn I accelerated, turned the wheel and had just barely cleared the oncoming traffic when my car stopped accelerating and my engine cut entirely. I coasted through the rest of the turn with no power just barely avoiding being hit. I looked at the dash and saw my battery light flashing and my info center displaying the message you see when you first enter your car "to start engine put foot on brake and press start button" (or some variation of this phrase, I can't quote it verbatim). It had stalled. I turned the car back on, called the dealership and they immediately sent someone to pick it up. I have owned my brand new car for 11 days and have only 700 miles on it. The dealership cannot find anything wrong with my car, cannot recreate the situation and there is no apparent recall on my car's year. There is, however; a recall on the model. Fca's advanced communication for recall u87 on 8/16/18 does list my model year and the original documentation for NHTSA's 18v-524 does as well. The actual recall does not. I'm concerned as this recall documents an issue with the powertrain control module (pcm) that "may have been manufactured with a suspect voltage regulator chip on the electronic circuit board. If the pcm fails, the customer may experience a no-start, a start-and-immediate stall condition, or an engine stall while driving". That is an exact quote from the fca communication on 8/16/18 which lists my model & year. The dealer is unable to address this though as the recall does not. Its clear to me this is the issue but this small exclusion of my model year leaves my dealership with their hands tied and me with a potentially unsafe car.
My car just shuts off for no reason for about 2 hours and when it come back on the service engine light comes on and the battery light comes on. I took it to the dealer they said the alternator and battery died. Also the key throb won't come out the ignition I only had the car for 4 months I am the first owner so I don't know how that's happening.
