The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 18v524000 (electrical system). The manufacturer and local dealer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While the vehicle was parked with the engine running, it started to roll away unexpectedly. There was no warning before the failure. An onlooker jumped into the vehicle to stop it from moving. The vehicle was taken to darcars orange park Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (7233 blanding blvd, jacksonville, FL 32244) where it was diagnosed that the battery failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 16v529000 (power train), but the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 51,000. The contact owns a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the factory installed amplifier caught fire while driving 75 mph. He had to disconnect the battery to stop the sparks and flames coming from the amp. He also had to cut the wires that were connected to the amp and remove the fuse for the radio. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact feels that this is a safety issue because the amp is positioned underneath the rear passenger seat where the child safety seat is located.
