Car Will Not Accelerate Problems of Jeep Cherokee

The first complaint is when the car was overheating and it needed a new transmission which was covered under the power train warranty. The second was when the car would have difficulty accelerating, and the main incident was when I was on the freeway (westbound 80 in hercules, CA) and the car would not accelerate beyond 60 mph so I needed to exit and when I was able to safely park the car, it died on me and I had to have it towed to the dealership, costing me over $2500 in repair regardless of the fix a couple years ago. This most recent incident occurred when at a stop light (antioch, CA)the car started shaking about to the die and the screen read �must place car in park. � after placing the car in park the car started up again, but at every stop the car would shake. Most recently (concord, CA) an alert came on the screen �service shifter. � after doing my research I was informed that my car may have been a part of a recall affecting the engagement of the gears. Bringing it to the dealership I was told it was not part of the recall, but am still concerned about the vehicle shifting gears, or lack thereof. I have documentation of the repairs and complaints, but do not have access to them right now. If needed I can provide them.

Electronic stability control" light comes on and either the car fails to accelerate properly (even after turning car off and on) or the car shuts off and won't restart. When the car won't restart, you can't even put the car in nuetral to push it out of the way, but the radio and dashboard do light up - electronic stability control light is on. With the acceleration issue, if I'm on the freeway and need to accelerate to pass a car or move out of the way, I can't - it's way too slow. I have to just stay in the slow lane and be very careful. I've brought in to dealerships 4 times from Nov 2019 to March 2021. Once they just turned the car on and off and said it was fine because it reset itself. The next time, they replaced the battery. The next time they replaced a switch for the electronic stability, the next they said the battery terminals were loose and corroded.

The car did not accelerate when peddle was pushed (in heavy traffic) then jumped suddenly to accelerate into oncoming traffic. This vehicle has had complete valve body failure in less than 3,000 miles and numerous updates to the computer because of uneven shifting and acceleration. The latest update seemed to work better for a few weeks and now is worse than previously. The Chrysler dealer (ron carter alvin texas) refuses to return my calls for service or to set a service date.

The dealer diagnosed and changed the module and the wiring harness and reprogrammed and the remedy has not repaired the issue. Am.

When shifting from park to reverse or drive, the vehicle will occasionally not shift into gear, even though the display and shift control indicates that the car is in reverse or drive. When this happens, when I release the break and apply the gas, the car does not move. This happens about once every 10-15 times the car is shifted from park. I am concerned that these issues will end up placing myself or my occupants in danger if an emergency situation arises while on the road, or if the transmission fails completely and I roll back into another car.
