1 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/05/2021

Our 2019 Jeep Cherokee limited has just over 12k miles. The instrument cluster (dashboard, radio screen display, and gear shift lights) go black or dark grey, and we have nothing displayed - speedometer, gas gauge, climate controls, messages, or any other safety information. We are just driving along, and the instrument cluster just quits working. This has happened four times now. Three times the display came back on after several minutes, once after stopping the car and restarting, while one other time it did not work again until we started the car the next morning. This is a serious safety issue, because we are driving without any vital information. We have taken our Jeep to two different dealerships who did not fix the issue because they said there were no error codes displayed. They stated we would need the Jeep at their dealership indefinitely and they would need to drive it every day until it happened while at the dealership. We even pointed out to the dealerships that there was already a recall on 2019 Jeep Cherokees for the instrument cluster failing, but they said ours was not one of the Jeeps in the recall. If you google "2019 Jeep Cherokee dashboard display problems" or something similar, you will find dozens of complaints about this issue.

4 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2000 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/27/2009

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, that whenever it hits a bump on the road, the gauges start to die. First the airbag light , then the engine light come on. After that the odometer dies, so I have no idea how fast I am going. Sometimes all the gauges fail. When I hit another bump on the road everything goes back to normal. I tried to have this fixed, but unfortunately this is a common problem for Jeep and Chrysler, my mechanic looked there is nothing wrong with the dash. It is somewhere in the cables, usually it takes Chrysler a couple of days(he told me from his experience, from his other customers) and they can't guarantee that they even find the faulty wire. And even after they "find the problem" most likely it will come back.

5 Dashboard Failed problem of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/02/2006

Gas gauge fails periodically. Spoke to dealer, and was told if it is not broke don't fix it. Truck failed to start 4 days ago. Has it towed to local garage. I have been told I have a major electrical problem, but tech has not yet figured it out. Jeep only has 52,000 miles. Now mind you, since I have purchased this Jeep in 1999, it has only been to a certified Jeep dealer for all services. All recommended work has always been completed. This was the first time I brought it somewhere else, because I had to get it towed.

During the first year of owning the vehicle the vehicle was at the dealer 12 times for rust marks on the vehicle which the dealer described as fall out and they insisted it was something the consumer had done to cause it to happen so soon, the electrical system failed, as the consumer was driving all the gauges went out and the vehicle just stopped, the air condition and radio were inoperative and still is, there was a thumping noise which was attributed to the rotors which was supposedly fixed. The most recent problem was with the power windows.
