Wiper Problems of Jeep Cherokee - part 2

I was driving down the garden state parkway in NJ around 6 or 7 pm when there was what sounded like an explosion. It turned out the rear windshield shattered while driving down the road. I did not see or hear anything hit the car and looking at the damage it looks like it is related to rear defroster because that is where the most damage is on each side.

There is a delamination of the windsheild on the edges causing reduced visibility blurring and distorting objects in view. Thus has been seen on 3 2019 Jeep Cherokees produced in late 2018.

After I leased my car, I realized later that the car doesn't squirt out windshield fluid. The car was in motion on a winter night on a city street.

The back windshield wiper, no longer works. It basically first just fell down over the tail light and when turned on, it would only cover part of the window. Later it would drop further down. There are times when you could manually move it. But it no longer works when you try to turn it on normally. Also the intermittent wiper settings for the front windshield , have not worked at all.

Wind shield wiper fluid will not work.

The rear view mirror create a doble vission its intended to dim if someone behind cams whit hig beams on to reduce the brightnes whit the doble mirror or shadow that creates but on thus case on day light that mirror creates a doble shadow or doble vission confiusing the vission I nees to be investigate and examin the rear view mirror if its been made it whit careles because it cams whit 911 and assist buttons or if need to ve replaced because cn cause any tipe of accident at the time to pass or back up becausw the doble vission that make it.

Drivers side wiper stopped working while driving. The passengers still works unable to drive car when it rains.

There have been several recalls on my vehicle since purchasing it almost 2 years ago. I've had to be inconveniently placed in a rental a couple times and pay a deposit out of pocket for something that wasn't even my fault. I contacted the dealer days after purchasing it to express my dissatisfaction, they were very unhelpful. One month after purchasing it is when I started needing to get the vehicle serviced several times. This latest recall, I have reached out to the dealer and the "earliest" appointment isn't until November. I called NHTSA customer service today to see if they could "speed up the process" but they too were very unhelpful. The person I spoke with expressed that the parts needed to fix this recall were all sold out and she wasn't sure when the parts would be coming in. Now, I am stuck in an unsafe, faulty vehicle until it can get serviced to this recall. In the safety recall notice it states in bold, "the loss of motive power could cause a crash without warning. " driving this vehicle in the condition that it's in and the potential safety hazard is life threatening. What exactly am I supposed to do now? I use this vehicle everyday and I am not the only passenger in it. I've contacted NHTSA before and submitted documentation of all the services the vehicle has had, and nothing was resolved on my behalf. I'm surprised legal action hasn't been presented to the manufacturer for these recalls and poor quality vehicles.

There are multiple recalls on this vehicle that are over a year old that can result in the vehicle become inoperable while driving. Nothing seems to be happening to resolve these issues. Two of the recalls can result in loss of power while driving.

Front windshield cracking.

When I turn wipers on high they shut off. Chrysler said they are getting a new body control module. I have been waiting since June 2016. I feel it is dangerous and if they can't fix it they should give us s new car. I was driving to work in heavy rain and put my wipers on high and they quit!.

Setting cruise does not hold with even very minor incline/decline no matter what speed set is. The increase of speed during set cruise is alarming at over 10+ miles at medium decline, and at some point car tries to slow down, but it is not a smooth transition, as it feels jerky. I have taken to lical Jeep dealer, but they said maybe aftr "computer updates", it would remedy it. Not! I can be on a boulevard, street, highway, etc. . . I have another appointment for 1-13-2017 while latitude still has warranty. . . No dealer is able to get vehicles in quickly, so that alone says a lot about issues with this manufacturer. . . . I would add that I tested cruise with that automatic engine shutoff both on and off to narrow it down, but there was no difference. . . There is a huge problem with defrosting windshield, too, where the only remedy is rolling down windows, which is terrible in fog, rain, cold weather. . . The other issue I have is the area where the sideview mirrors are: it is so wide, it blocks an oncoming car (especially on passenger side), when trying to turn left. It makes it nearly impossible to see road, too, as many streets have medians and many do not. Some have concrete bike curbs, and one must pull car further out than normal, just to avoid running into something. This is true for both right or left turns. If area is dark, it is a guessing game. This also makes it difficult to see deer in neighborhoods or freeways here in san antonio, much less objects that are three feet tall and below.

Received two recalls, have been going to dealer for over 8 months to get them done, contacted Jeep manufacturer, still no parts received. Dealer says they have not received parts and to keep checking in, which I've persistently been doing for eight months to the point of frustration. It has been almost a year since the last two recalls were stated. In the meantime my defective parts continue to malfunction if used. An efficient and timely manner to get the recalls done has not been conducted by Jeep and by fca us llc.

My Jeep Cherokee 2014 has 21181 mileage and the check engine light came on . I notice that that the car was shifting into gear hard and at times would not accelerate when getting on the freeway . So my husband took it to get the oil changed at the dealership where we bought the Jeep and they said everything looked good. Well when my husband left all the dummy lights came on he turned right around and went back to the dealership ,the service manager came out and said the tech put the wrong oil filter on and that they would have to redo the oil change . On a month later the check engine light comes on so we call the dealership and ask if maybe them putting the wrong filter on that I would cause the check engine light to come on . The service manager said no that we would have to take it to Jeep . It is still under warranty because it is under the mileage . But I looked on the complaint forum and seen many people having the same problem some having a hard time getting Chrysler to help them . And almost all of them having the transmission replaced . I find that to be very disturbing considering I have only had the car for 8 months . I feel that the car should be replaced this is a dangerous situation that could cost lives . Thank you . Had three months with my car, started showing the check engine light periodically, I didn´t take much importance, then I receive a recall from the dealer, they fix the unknown problem, then five months later I park on the pending street and trying to drive back, the shifter wasn´t moving at all, after a few minutes strangling with the shifter the car finally work, after that the check engine light was on for a day, this happened again continuously. This check engine light on, happens a lot. Today 12-04-2015, a tragedy happened to me , when I park my car on a climb street, I put the shifter on park, turn off the car, took my key, I get out of the car, close the door, when I was about to set up the alarm I notice by reflection that something was moving, and that was my car, passing by next to me and crashing into a concrete wall, almost run me down, ¿again the car was off and I had the key in my hand¿. How is this possible??? if my car has an automatic transmission. I don¿t feel safe anymore, owing this car, putting my life and others in risk, I don¿t this is fair, when you´re investing your money for security, I need a response or solution for this problem a. Side view mirrors' placement blocks visibility particularly while maneuvering in parking lots created several close calls. Mirror should be mounted higher to eliminate vision blockage while improving visibility.

Composite material that makes up these windshield wiper sprayer nozzels must be defective, as they busted during freezing weather. While making a thanksgiving trip to the mountains my Jeep was subject to freezing weather during the night. I allways keep approved window whiper solution (not water) in the wiper reservoir. However, these nozzels were not able to stand up to the freezing conditions and therefore busted. The dealer claims that it is my fault that someone (don't know who) put water in my wiper reservoir and therefore it is my fault! the dealer says that he will fix the proble for about $200. 00, parts and labor. Well great!,. . . (not!) so,. . . What happens the next time I go to the mountains??? I believe that the composite material (plastic) is defective for this vehicle and would like Chrysler Jeep to replace for free.
