1 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 02/16/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. The contact was exiting a residential driveway at low speed when the vehicle sputtered abnormally. The failure progressed and the vehicle began to stall without warning when driving at least 55 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the failure was caused by a defect in the air conditioning system. The vehicle was repaired yet the failure persisted. The contact also experienced unintended acceleration and hesitation in the vehicle. Most recently, the gear shift selector became stuck in neutral. The contact called the manufacturer and was awaiting a return call. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000 and the current mileage was approximately 75,000.
