5 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2007 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 02/01/2017

Jeep complaint case # 31436177. I am having a no crank no start issue with bogus error message that reads transmission over temp. I have taken the vehicle to three different places and no one can identify why the vehicle will not start or find anything wrong with the transmission or wiring. . . . . . . That is causing this issue. The Jeep started having this issue intermittently in February 2017 and now it will not start at all as of April 2017. Electrical mechanic is baffled and can not find any thing wrong with the Jeep even though it does not start at all anymore. Since February 2017 after this issue started I have had the computer updated to fix the problem, I have had the ignition switch replaced to solve this problem, I have had the transmission cooler lines and transmission fluid changed out to fix this problem and still the vehicle will not start intermittently and now will not start at all as of a week and a half ago. I was also told that it might be the key not being recognized by the Jeep and would need to be reprogrammed but this is not the issue either. This is not the first issue I have had with this vehicle either. I also had the wiring harness catch fire inside the driver side door boot shortly after purchasing the vehicle that caused windows, locks. . . . . . . Not to function and have had numerous issues with water pouring in from drains from the sunroof flooding the vehicle and ruining the carpet on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle also causing a mold smell.

29 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2008 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

In Jan 2015 our key fob got stuck in the ignition of our 2008 Jeep Commander. A day later,we were able to free it. On 2/19/15 it would not start and we had to have it jump started twice. Once started it drove without issues for 3 days. Then on 2/23/15, the Jeep would not start and the key fob got stuck in the ignition. The Jeep could not move and could not be taken out of park. The only thing that worked were the lights. We tried to jump start the vehicle and tried everything we could think of to release the key from the ignition. The fob would not release so we had to have the Jeep towed to the dealership where we purchased it. The mechanic tested the Jeep (battery tested fine). They called Chrysler to see if they had any parts to fix the issue and discovered that the issue with our Jeep was a faulty ignition. The mechanic got the fob released from the ignition by unplugging the battery. He could not guarantee how long this would work. We called the recall hotline and confirmed our Jeep Commander was listed on recall p57. However, Chrysler has no fix at this time. The hotline advised us to get a hold of a Chrysler dealership and get a rental car free of charge through them until the Jeep could be fixed (at an unknown future date). The local Chrysler dealership refused to give us a rental and said they could not look at the Jeep for a few weeks. On 2/28 the Jeep would not start again so we had to purchase a new battery (at our expense). Because of the p57 ignition recall we are worried that we have an unreliable vehicle and that it could also stall while driving and cause an accident with injury or death. We feel unsafe in the Jeep! we want Chrysler to fix these unsafe ignitions immediately and in the meantime provide us free alternative transportation and reimbursement for our expenses.

34 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 09/22/2014

I'm not getting anywhere with Chrysler company recall service. My 2006 Jeep Commander has a p41 recall on it, it will do all sorts of crazy and unsafe things when driving. Examples: the Jeep will not start, when starting it the ignition switch clicks, the power is on for everything. Jeep told me to put in drive and then back in park, then try to start it. That does not work. Driving down interstate the Jeep will shut off and the power steering goes out. Once pulled over it needs restarted and then it runs again. It also shifts to 3rd gear when coming off the exit ramp when speeding up to get on interstate, again I have to pull over and turn it off and restart it. This is very unsafe and now I have no transportation. Calling Chrysler, they said that they will not help or provide a rental car. They say every time I call it's not their fault that the manufacturer of the ignition replacement part is not escalating the order and there's nothing they can do for me. They want us to drive a very unsafe vehicle instead of providing us with a rental car. They also said that they have no time frame of when the part is to be available to the dealers so this issue can be corrected and that they can't just give out rentals to everyone without knowing when the issue will be fixed. I need help, I need a way to work and I need a safe vehicle.
