1 Electrical Failure problem of the 2008 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 10/26/2010

Driving my 2008 Jeep Commander on the highway approximately 55mph and the vehicle stalled and the entire electrical system power went out. Had to pull over turn off the vehicle, pull the key out, and restart. Vehicle resumed normal operation. I have experienced many times since I purchased the vehicle in 2008 where my electrical system failed, and one previous occurrence where the engine stalled and the electrical system failed, but on those occurrences the vehicle was not in motion. I have taken it into the dealer on numerous occasions since 2008 and described the problem with feedback from the dealer that there was no recall for my vehicle and that they could not duplicate the symptoms I was experiencing. Investigated on NHTSA. Gov and noticed the issue, campaign id number 08v059000. This campaign almost exactly describes the issue I am experiencing. However it states that they only recalled 1338 vehicles in 2008, and mine was obviously not one of them. The dealer should atleast know of the issue and/or I should be notified by Chrysler, which I was not.

3 Electrical Failure problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 07/10/2007

We own a 2006 Jeep Commander that has been a problem from the first month we owned it. The first incident occurred when my wife and 3 children were driving on the highway and the vehicle shut off at 65 mph. The vehicle has consistently experienced the same challenge at low and high speeds. In addition, we have experienced similar issues as other owners such as; transmission noises and slippage, electrical system failures, excessive break noise, break wear, excessive cracking in windshield, seatbelt failure, window leaks, stereo replacement and more! in the last 9 months this vehicle has been to the dealer for repair more than 6 times for similar issues. The dealer, as with other customers has claimed they "can't replicate the problem. . . " and sent us on our way. I have now embarked upon having the vehicle bought back by the manufacturer and will also begin a formal legal case to ensure other owners receive retribution. This car is dangerous and the manufacturer is aware of these problems, you are not crazy and the dealers are covering it up!.

4 Electrical Failure problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 03/13/2007

2006 Jeep Commander. All dashboard electrical systems fail after starting vehicle. The vehicle will continue to operate. After several minutes dashboard indicators come on as normal but engine light remains lit. Owners manual states driving with engine light on should not affect vehicle operation. Also states engine light should go off after several days of normal operation.

5 Electrical Failure problem of the 2007 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 12/15/2006

I purchased a 2007 Jeep Commander in October of 2006. At about 2,000 miles, I experienced an electrical failure that caused many gauges to come on or go off. I did lose my headlights & the transmission downshifted. I pulled over, powered off the vehicle & restarted. The vehicle has done this same or similar problem 4 times now. I've filed the lemon law in indiana, but it was denied. The last time I experienced the electrical fault, my seat starting moving forward for a few seconds while I was driving the car. The vehicle has registered fault codes every time that I saved. Each time, the dealer can not duplicate & performs computer flash updates in hopes of correcting problem. In my opinion, the vehicle is dangerous to operate.
