My car will act like it's out of gas/convulsions, dies suddenly, and acts like it's going to die when driving. Check engine light has come on sometimes. I have only had the vehicle around one year and have had it worked on 4 times for the issue. Still isn't fully resolved. It's was the obvious issue from the start so probably an issue before I bought the vehicle. I was referred to the dealership and they quoted me 600 just for the inspection. I just paid 3000 dollars to have it fixed. Still not fixes.

My Commander will simply shut off while at speeds and or idling. . . Very scary vary dangerous. Sometimes it will start right back up, but most wont start at all. I have had to tow it away. Luckily I have been able to manage shut offs . . . But I have no confidence in this vehicle anymore. Dont want to put kids in with me or tow anything or even just drive it. There are no codes, or explanation to it from my mechanic. . . Mystery. It's currently not starting now and kind of done with this issue. Chrysler. . . This needs a fix badly!.

Electrical system is failing. Began with the electrical sunroof will not open/or slide all the way open, the sunroof electrical problem has been this way since 10 years before I purchased it in 2019. Next the panel for the radio and screen panel for am/fm, then the cd player quit working all together. Will not play any cd. Airbag warning light is showing on dash,however, vehicle has never been wreaked. No airbag been deployed. Starting the vehicle, within the past 6 months 2008 Commander has failed to start over 20 times after continuously checking alternator, starter, ect. Informed it is the electrical system failing; by professional. Vehicles electrical system has caused the gears to slip and it is a v6 but drives as a 4 cylinder. Driving on highway is dangerous when electrical system breaks down without warning. Suspension and shocks seem to not work well, as the slightest bump is rough and rugged throwing passengers around. All these defects never occurred from April 2020 until recently about December 2021. Electrical system repair is thousands of dollars to fix or replace. This is a manufacturer problem. Please help to correct these issues for the safety of all those on the road. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The recall (n23 NHTSA 13v 225) per shanepua, of Chrysler, that is now causing major problems on my vehicle was not tasked to my specific vehicle and they won't honor the recall. The other 2 recalls were poorly done in Feb 2020 and is now again causing problems.

Our 2006 Jeep Commander has had a recurring problem of stalling at random times, while both driving and idling. Every day we start the vehicle but cannot drive it right away because it stalls out if we don't wait at least 5 minutes to "warm it up". Another example, we were driving on a city street and turning left in an intersection and it stalled out while in motion and lost control of steering and braking. I noticed that there have been recalls for thousands of 2006 Jeep Commanders, but our VIN # shows no recalls for our car. We are having the same exact problem with this truck as the other owners of recalled 2006 Jeep Commanders. It is currently in the shop for the third time and the mechanics cannot recreate the stall while moving issue and cannot figure out why it is hesitating and stalling. This is my 16 year old new driver's vehicle and I'm afraid for her safety.

In heavy rain the sunroof has leaked and created a large puddle of water inside on the front passenger side floor. This incident has now happened twice and when I contacted Jeep corporate I was told that it was known issue with some of the Jeeps however a recall has not been issued. I again I have to pay to have the leak fixed and have my carpet attended too so that mildew will not become an issue. . Please assist.

The power locks make a horrible noise I I believe it is the activator.

The vehicle door locks make s loud buzzing noise. I believe its the activator. This was noticed recently.

A window went about 1/3 of the way down and stopped. Could not get it to go up or down after that. The vehicle was parked at the time. We wondered if it was the motor. We watched a video on the internet on how to check it and it said to check the wires behind the door panel because it is a common problem for this type of vehicle to have broken wires and low and behold that's exactly what had happened. Windows need to open and close.

I have a 06 Jeep Commander with the 5. 7 hemi. I have been having a problem tied the vehicle stalling at random time. Most of the time it is while the vehicle is in motion. A few times at highway speeds. Also and I dont know if its coincides but the Jeep will buck like you hit something and the traction control light will illuminate and stay on. (dry roads). Thank god no accidents but was told by countless Jeep dealers there is no issue.

Vehicle turned completely off while stopped in traffic complete loss of power, fortunately not while moving. Turned key to off position and turned back on. Vehicle did restart and continue to drive. Aware that Chrysler has recalled numerous 2008 vehicles for recall# p57 (fobik ignition key).

The seat belt wont latched unless you press down the released button on both driver and passenger. Also the panels leaked on passenger side and the top.

My Jeep loses power every time I drive it stalls out while driving (scary when it happened on the freeway) at times it stops shifting and then slams like the whole transmission fell out of Jeep.

Vehicle filled with smoke while driving and heard a large explosion that shook the seats, pulled over and called emergency services for fire under passenger side rear floor board.

This morning I was driving into work, when my car wasn't getting enough power to move. Each time I would give it gas, it would sputter at me. This has been a constant problem since I bought a year ago. . . I would like to know what the problem is so I can fix it.

While driving this vehicle through a stone tunnel on the blue ridge parkway that had no lighting within the tunnel the Jeep suffered an total electrical failure and a total blackout took place. Thankful that I was not killed and that no one else was in the tunnel at the time, the Jeep was coasted to the outside of the tunnel and off to the side on the grass. Had anyone been coming in either direction I may have had enough light but it was pitch black. I have read of hundreds of electrical failures in this Jeep vehicle and wonder why I was never notified. This is a product warranty issue for Jeep and it nearly was also responsible for vehicular homicide! the Jeep just cut off all electric and not even dashboard lights afforded visual. I have the park rangers report and she said this most likely was total electrical failure. I have pictures from the accident as the Jeep hit the stone tunnel side and then the steering rod on the right broke. The insurance company chose to junk the Jeep and I was left without even a rental car. I have pictures and the rangers report and my report if requested. How do I contact Jeep for a product liability complaint?.

Abs brake slip control lights stay on.

Tl the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled and the security warning indicator illuminated. The contact called gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (2339 e franklin blvd, gastonia, nc 28054, (704) 874-6000), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the key was not programmed to the vehicle and the failure was similar to the failure listed in NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 58694595. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 158,951.

A few weeks ago while driving down a country road going around a semi sharp turn the Jeep just shut off. Lights, engine, brakes all power shut off. I was able to place the Jeep in neutral and start it back up. Everytime since while driving the dash lights flicker as well as the headlights. It stalls at times and sometimes the traction control light comes on and stays on until I turn the car off and back on.

The electrical system has failed. The center sound system shuts off and reboots on its own every hour or 2 causing electronic failure and has proven to get worse over time. Following that the Jeep will randomly not start, mechanics have told me that it must be the electrical system because it is not starter, alternator or the battery. Failure to start engine has occurred over 20 times. . . Effecting my ability to drive to work a few times. Power train has failure has caused electronic control, software, shift lever/gear control and indicator devices, torque, drive axles, hubs, shafts, cv joints, housings and related safety systems to fail/stop working while in drive; example the Jeep was driving 50 miles an hour and transmission gears shut down and I tried shifting into neutral attempt to start transmission/engine failure. All transmission gears shut off. Then after 5 minutes came back on and started working again while driving down a country highway , luckily no other vehicles passed during this incident. This scared me and the passenger in fear of wreaking from lack of control of the vehicle. This has happened 2 times. Having severe problems with gear shifting or transmission failure. Has presented a safety hazard. The speed control fluctuates when driving up a hill or vehicle stalling while driving at 50 mph and must let off the accelerater in order to get vehicle back into correct gear. Vehicle has been inspected by mechanic by using diagnostic tests and each time they cannot find anything wrong with the transmission or engine. . . Only electrical system which makes sense because the Jeep is a Smart car and professionals have informed me to take the Jeep to the manufacturer inorder to fix the electrical systems malfunctions. There were no messages/warnings prior to each failure which began in the spring of 2021. Except the radio/center electronic consol which failure of the screen, dvd/video, & radio transmissions that shut down and reboot every 2 hours started 2019.

When it rains my control panel goes haywire and I've lost function of a brake light. The truck is stuck in 4th gear and sounds like the frame is going to rip out every time it jumps. Losing power controls ie windows and things of that nature. I have 5 children, youngest being 8months. I'm a retired army disabled cavalry scout veteran. I don't care about my personal info. I can't get shit done cause some potato head sold me a lemon. I'm tired of getting treated like shit after the shit I've endured for americans that thrive off getting over on people. I'm done this is bullshit!.

My car leaks during rain from the sunroof to the blue hose drain and flooded my car. Which messed up the electrical system. I'm having problems with my car saying it's over heating but it's not it's the electrical system telling the computer in car that it's how when its not and now my transmission is messed up we think. My car is currently at Jeep dealer in cerritos, CA for 2 days now and no one can tell me what wrong.

While driving at normal speed(s) 35-50mph all dash lights came on in sequence and then the engine stalled. Luckily this was at 230 am and near a closed business parking lot and I was able to coast off the road way. Within a few seconds of the vehicle motion stopping the lights, radio and all electric died and would not start. This is a serious safety issue and I guess Jeep is waiting for someone to die and have their family sue them. I have seen several complaints on 2006 Commanders doing the same thing. I bought mine 12/24/2018 and I am the third owner. First owner was a leasee and put 22k miles on it. Second owner had the vehicle from 2010 to 12/15/2018 and it had 80,500 miles when I bought it. I have only put less than 1000 miles on it and I am having serious concerns on keeping it. 3. 7v6/auto 4x4 sport.

While driving my radio shuts on and off constantly. Sometimes my dash lights flash and beep then my odometer dials start to flutter up and down and my blinker will hesitate when it's on.

When we first got the car it was working like any normal car, however, after less than a month we started to notice a lot of change. The first problem we started to see was the whole screen turned off we are able to play music but only radio station that was saved. We are unable to tune/seek to a new radio station. Then we started to notice during the rainy season that water would enter into our car. After many tries of solving this issue, it is still happening to our car. The section where the petals are always wet and we have closed the sunroof and the cover but, nothing seems to work. Now today the check engine turn on and also the oil in the dashboard behind the steering wheel. We are worried about the safety of the car and hope to see changes soon from you. Power door lock fuse blows due to short in wire where it cought on fire and burnt hole in carpet in the back seat.

I bought my vehicle at a Nissan dealership and didn't know that it leaked into the cabin on the driver's side foot well because of the drain tubes for the sunroof. I took it in they said it was fixed but the very next time it rained it was soaked again and by then I found out what is really going on with the vehicle. It's not that I don't want to be a good consumer and not make any waves, but I don't want to keep paying for a leaking vehicle, and don't know what to do. What happens if I go to step out of the vehicle and slip and fall, I have feet ankle problems as it is and it's detrimental to my health should that happen.

My fobik key is getting stuck in the own position and will not let me take the key out without unplugging the battery.

All the lights on my dash panel went on & I lost power of the vehicle driving down the road. It came back on then off & on. This has happened several times. My catalytic converter has broken into a few pieces. The dealership said this happens often to these vehicles & believes there is a recall on them. I have had my vehicle 4 1/2 yrs & this is the 2nd time it needs to be replaced. My struts have gone a few times on my 2006 Jeep Commander. The rear seatbelt in the middle & driver rear don't latch & when they do its really tight on my daughter. Lastly multiple issues with the rear doors both passenger & driver sides. The handles don't work all the time. They have both been fixed 3 different occasions. They open when they feel like it. The child lock is not on.

While driving at 60 mph on the highway, my Jeep has jolted like it had lost power for a brief moment. The jolt was severe enough that it made my arms ache from it. This worries me as I have read many complaints about complete stalls at high speeds and this could cause a severe accident. My Jeep has 150,000 miles on it. This issue needs to be investigated before there is a fatality.

Air bag came on and doesn't go off, engine light is on constantly even after vehicle is repaired. Vehicle shuts off while you are driving. Seat belts are broken woke stay after being repaired. Windows get stck.

Under heavy rain, the vehicle leaks on the inside to the point of a big puddle in the floor of the driver side while stationary. This has also caused a problem with my cruise control and on-screen nav it now goes on and off displaying the Jeep logo as if the car was just starting up and I am in the middle of driving.

Tranfercase shifted into nuetral while driving down the highway then back to drive jerking the gears and gears are now popping while accelerating.
