1 Transmission Sensor problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 06/13/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander 4x2. While driving 55 mph, the gear shift lever moved out of the drive position into neutral without warning. The contact was able to place the vehicle back into the drive position. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v175000 (electrical system, power train). The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
