The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system). The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered and stalled. The contact restarted the vehicle and the vehicle worked as designed. Additionally, the vehicle was leaking engine oil onto the transmission. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and it was suggested that the battery, alternator and a faulty emc regulator needed to be replaced. The contact called three rivers Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (2633 w liberty Ave, pittsburgh, PA 15216, (412)343-1200) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000. Invalid VIN.

Leaking/ cracked engine oil filter housing. Oil leaking became evident as oil leaking through the engine compartment and to below the vehicle. Required replacement of the engine oil filter housing.

6 Engine Oil Leaking problem

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving various speeds, the engine was damaged due to a faulty part that continuously knocked into the engine. The faulty unknown part created indentations in the engine which, in turn, caused an oil leak. The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed oil underneath the vehicle on the carport floor. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The oil filter housing needed replacement, but the vehicle was not repaired due to cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact stated that the manufacturer denied the repairs due to the high mileage of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

8 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

Noticed a leak under my engine and when I popped my hood there was oil sprayed everywhere. Major leak.
