Car Stall problems of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee - part 1

Vehicle will randomly stall while slowing down, brake pedal gets instantly rock hard and steering is next to impossible. Fca claimed if was the fuel pump relay but both fuel pump relay recalls were done and it's even worse now.

My Jeep has stalled at least 5 times with the power steering failing. 1) once while at an intersection turning left on a green arrow no steering. 2) traveling about 45 mph and stalled again and no steering. 3) twice going from 55 mph up to a stop sign and the car stalled again no steering. 4) just last Friday, I was driving 55 mph and slowing to make a left turn and again stalled and no power steering. This is getting serious and happens unexpectedly which makes driving dangerous. The stalling is happening more frequently now. I've contacted Jeep and they say a recall has been issued but no fix has taken place and is to be determined with no idea when. The recall was issued late last year. So how long does it take to fix a relay issue? this has gone on far to long and getting scary. Please help me and get some kind of answer from Jeep. Sincerely, terry farber.

I am just writing to complain that 8 months after recall 19v-813 was released there is still no fix. My wife's car randomly stalls on her and it's not safe. We know have our first child due in September and she's terrified to have to drive her anywhere as her Jeep is her only means of transportation.

The safety recall re the defective fuel pump is a serious safety issue, vehicle stalling at any speed without warning. The recall was issued several months ago and the manufacturer still has not been able to correct the issue, nor given a time when the parts are available.

Alternator recall already exists for this 2011 production 8/2010, 3. 6 ltr. 160 amp. My battery light is on and dealer said its probably the pcm. Quoted 850 for part . 2011 Grand Cherokee overland 5. 7 v8 approx 124000 miles stalled when turning left through intersection slowing from 50 to 25 mph. Steering and brakes failed. All recalls have been performed. This was supposedly fixed with p54 (fuel pump relay). Fortunately I was not towing my boat. This issue seems to have spanned many years and is extremely dangerous.

While driving and deceleration the Jeep shuts off. No lights come on indicating that the vehicle is no longer running. The first clue is loss of power steering and brakes. This always happens within the first couple miles of driving. The Jeep starts right back up and then 99% of the time won't stall again for a couple days. This is getting more frequent.

I don't like driving the car with anyone in it for fear of getting rear ended if it stalls, and people are behind me.

Ticking from left cylinder head and minor tick from right cylinder head. Chrysler admits to having a manufacturer defect in vehicle and extended the warranty on the left cylinder head. If there is a compression issue and the vehicle stalls in the roadway could be a fatal mistake. This needs to be fixed in all vehicles included with the right cylinder head. Or recall the vehicle. This is a huge safety issue.

I have almost hit a guard rail a couple times and almost got rear-ended by a semi truck because it wouldn't start right back up. I have brought this to the dealership several times and it still keeps happening after they claim they fixed it. They don't seem to concern while I almost have been into several accidents which included my 18 month old and wife in the vehicle. I have had the vehicle for over 4 years and this has occurred ever sense I bought it.

If the brake booster water shield is found to be missing or incorrectly installed, the brake booster must be vacuum tested. Brake boosters that do not pass the vacuum test must be replaced. At the conclusion of this recall the brake booster water shield must be properly installed.

Vehicle will unexpectedly stall during decelleration and braking. Vehicle loses all power to the motor and power steering, making it difficult to avoid collision and steer vehicle to safety. This happens at high and low speeds, and has occurred on 3 separate occasions in a 2 week time period. This issue was supposed to be addressed by recall number p54; of which I completed on this vehicle in 2014. This issue persists, and I am seeing other owners complain of this identical problem on various forums. Jeep/Chrysler seems to be inconsistent on the coverage of repairs and diagnosis. This is a real safety concern that should be addressed universally.

Engine sometimes stops running completely while driving at low and at highway speed. It happens when the accelerator is released. It is then necessary to stop; re-start, with no problem, and continue on. Has happened 4 times in last 3 months. My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland v8 hemi stalls while slowing down to turn onto another road, or going from highway speeds to exiting a ramp. It's been occurring for several years. I've already had the fuel pump relay recall fixed twice, and my Jeep still stalls out almost on a daily basis. It turns out Chrysler issued a recall (t36) for 2012-2014 Jeeps with alternator issues; however the information I have read on the recall sounds a lot like what is happening to my Jeep. 2011 Jeep gc overland should be included in this recall.

Timp recall, was repaired Jan 2015. Today vehicle stalled in traffic, completely shut down and lost power steering, while making a left hand turn. I am lucky I was not in an accident. I was able to restart the vehicle. I have made an appointment with the dealer, but since it was repaired previously, not sure what they will do for me. Obviously there is still a problem the recall did not repair.

Beginning in August of 2016, the car will stall sporadically upon rapid deceleration. Last time in March the car stalled when brakes were applied to avoid an accident on the freeway. Dealer cannot recreate or diagnose the problem and returns the car �operating as designed. � car has not been driven since. Problem has occurred 10-12 times and more recently with greater frequency. Rapid declaration usually occurs to avoid a problem, this is the worst time for the car to stall out.
