41 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2023

While driving my car, it will randomly shift into neutral. The engine will almost shut off while the battery will remain on. I get a message on the dash telling me to shift into gear but can only shift into park. After shifting into park, I have to turn my car off, and back on before I can shift into drive. I have had multiple parts replaced on my car to fix the issue but it is still happening. I find the car shifts to neutral when going over 55 mph and then I lose all power.

42 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2023

Trying to shift from drive to park, will only go to reverse. Must release shifter and push to park again for it to shift to park.

43 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2022

I can hear my Jeep clicking into every gear and making a ticking noise this is because of the faulty shifter in these Jeeps. Also the computer isn’t working correctly software is to old to update.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

There are two issues. One is that the air bag light is on and never goes away and could mean faulty air bags, two the car is making a clicking noise and jerking when accelerating and the 4 wheel drive service light has come on. It could be the transfer case or differential. The car only has 60,000 miles and isn't driven everyday. It should not be having these safety issues.

45 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2022

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 45 mph and making a right turn, the vehicle inadvertently turned in the opposite direction and the contact lost control of the steering wheel. The traction control warning light was illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact continued to turn the steering wheel until she regained control of the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the roadway. The contact then pulled into a parking lot and parked the vehicle. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer declined to honor the recall repair and informed the contact she had to pay for the repair. The dealer diagnosed that the dtcm (drive train control module) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and inquired about reimbursement; however, the manufacturer denied her claim after several attempts. The failure mileage was approximately 177,060.

49 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2022

When the acceleration is pressed harder than easing into it the shift progression fails. It will stick, in say 2nd gear, and rev up the motor but will not shift until the accelerator is released. It will then stick in 3rd and 4th if you get back on the accelerator too hard. In addition, the cruise was set at 60mph, running in 8th gear. The accelerator was pressed to pass a vehicle, the transmission dropped into 4th, revved up and stuck there. It would not shift back out until the cruise was shut off and the vehicle slowed to about 40mph and the transmission caught up with the vehicle speed, normal operation resumed. I think the danger of passing someone on a 2 lane highway in a vehicle that slows down instead of accelerating puts all parties involved at risk. We are taking it to the dealer today to see if the program needs updated. The only engine code showing is that the evaporative emissions systems leak detection pump needs replaced. We have done this twice, the code clears for 2 days and comes right back.

50 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

Jeep issued a recall almost a year and a half ago, and have taken no action.

51 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

My 2015 Grand Cherokee has a service shifter warning that has come on and causes the transmission to jump while driving. I've taken this problem to the dealership and was initially charged for a new shifter and wiring harness. Two weeks later the problem returned. I took the car back again and was told the system wasn't reset. Two weeks later problem returned. Took it back to dealership and was charged to reset two more codes. Two weeks later the problem returned. Took it back to the dealership and was told power steering pump had leak and was traveling to the area where the sensor was causing it to go off. Paid for more repairs and now 4 days later the service shifter light is back on and more frequently than before. This issue nor should any issue cause someone to continuously miss work to deal with a problem that has caused at least one fatality that's well known about. Nor should it cause an expense every time the vehicle is brought in. This is a problem that could cause serious harm if not addressed and if the problem cannot be addressed then at the very least someone should be willing to say so instead of grasping at straws trying to fix an unfixable problem.

52 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2022

While driving on the highway, the car suddenly started to generate a weird noise from the engine, and at the same time I was losing power, this was at 65mph. Now, the vehicle cannot go above 35mph without pushing down on the gas pedal. The rpm needle also doesn't move much. May be a crankshaft position sensor issue as with the 3. 0l engines.

53 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2022

There is loud ticking/tapping noise coming from the engine when in motion or when the engine idles. This vehicle was not inspected by the dealer (out of warranty) or the police but was inspected by my mechanic and is available for inspection anytime, upon request. At time, the noise become extremely loud and scary and is a cause for great concern, especially knowing that this vehicle is mostly driven daily on the highway for at least 1 hour one way. This noise suddenly appeared about 9 year ago as a slight ticking/tapping but got progressively worse.

54 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2021

My shifter has been having issues with shifting the gear into the right position. For example, numerous times I would put the vehicle in park (by pressing on the break and moving it all the way forward) & it would get stuck in reverse and go backwards. This happened more times than I can count and that is a major safety issue that can cause an accident. I did my research and found that there has been recalls made for the same thing that I am claiming as well as several complaints. I’m currently at planet Dodge servicing my shifter and it’s a thousand dollars out of my pocket which isn’t fair since this clearly seems to be an issue with the vehicle. I also submitted a case with Jeep customer care.

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2021

Bad lifters and rockers on left camshaft caused loud engine tick/knock. Occurred at 62000 miles. An apparent known common Jeep fca problem for 2015 jgc wk. Hard/ rough transmission downshift from 3rd-2nd gear along with loud bang noise. Downshift is so violent it causes your foot to slip off the brake pedal when braking. Occurred at 67000 miles. Another known common problem for 2015 jgc wk. This is a dangerous vehicle and should be recalled for these issues before someone is seriously injured or an accident results in death.

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2021

At times when starting out as soon as we depress the gas pedal the transmission jumps to park & we cannot shift out of park. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to when it will happen. Nobody seems to find a reason for it so they can't fix it. We have found that if we unhook the battery & let it sit for a little bit it will work again. It has started happening more often in the last year. This is not only frustrating it can be dangerous according to where it happens. This is not a one time thing so I can't give dates or mileage. It has happened several times in the last week, but the first time was 2 years ago.

57 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2021

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 3. 6 pentastar. Bought the vehicle 10-2020 and had issue with running hot due to faulty electric radiator cooling fan and thermostat and housing failure. Repaired the thermostat and hosing at local Jeep dealership. 2 weeks later, radiator cooling fan froze and ceased operation, replaced by independent repair shop. Within a couple the oil cooler and filter housing adapter developed a crack causing a catastrophic oil leak.

58 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2021

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while attempting to drive, there was a loud popping sound, and the vehicle would not accelerate or drive. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

59 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2021

The contact owns 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the auto-park feature failed to engage. Additionally, while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle rolled forward, without warning. The contact called bedford Chrysler Dodge Jeep inc - bedford PA (7055 Lincoln hwy, bedford, PA 15522, (877) 915-5008) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,414.

60 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2021

My Jeep has now on 2 occasions at a high rate of speed lost all ability to accelerate- April 29 & may 1st while driving on a highway at 70mph in rush hour traffic the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate- it felt like the engine slipped into neutral-however it was still in drive-I verified this- vehicle rapidly decelerated - I barely got off the highway without being in a collision- vehicle then after being restarted was able to engage into drive again and move both forward & backwards dealership was unable to determine problem however upon taking the car home on may 1st same thing happened again- this time with a eyewitness as well may 1 at 50mph- engine (still running) cut out as if it slipped into neutral - the vehicle still said it was in drive when the vehicle came to a full stop- the light for gear shift - changed & it read that jt was in neutral - simultaneously a message popped up (only after it was stopped) vehicle speed is too high to shift of course we were already stopped and never tried to shift it anyway my Jeep was manufactured in September 2014-this problem closely correlates with another recall that is limited to same Jeep models made prior to July 2014 see NHTSA campaign number 19v447 (see link below) this is incredibly dangerous and the dealership seems to have no awareness of this problem in Jeeps made in the same year as mine https://. . 61 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2021

On April 23rd at 9:28pm I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 on a highway at approximately 45mph when suddenly the transmission slipped to neutral without any human interference. I tried shifting it back to drive but the transmission did not respond. The Jeep lost momentum very quickly and came to a complete stop in the highway. As soon as it went to a complete stop it locked itself in parking position and l lost all ability to put it back to drive. I turned my blinkers and emergency lights on, but one minute later I got rear-ended by a car traveling at 50mph. My Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 got totaled and I was taken to the hospital in stable condition. I was in a bad collision due to the Jeep slipping into neutral and locking itself in parking. I lost all ability to control my Jeep. The Jeep got towed to a safe location. Two weeks later, we needed to move the car to another area for the insurance inspection. The car turned on and moved, yet again when the car gained velocity, the gear slipped to neutral and again came to a complete stop it, locking the transmission in the parking position. I always took my car for regular maintenance and it was a very well kept Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015.

62 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2021

The vehicle takes a long time to turn over to push to start. So you have to redo it and try it again. Along with us, the touchscreen takes a long time for for it to turn on. Which obviously that controls your ac or heat. I've gotten a new battery twice in the past four months. I'm scared I'm going to go somewhere one day and get stranded. I've taken my car to the dealership where I have a warranty on my car and they refuse to fix anything else except put a battery in it every time. I have a full coverage warranty on my Jeep but I cannot get them to fix anything and this is the fourth time I've been to the dealership and they won't fix anything else.

63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2021

Service shifter light came on while driving, had it towed to the dealership, 5 days later they said nothing is wrong with it so I took it home. A week later, service shifter light came back on while I was driving on a side street, all the lights on the dash came on, unable to control anything, lost steering, then vehicle shut off in the middle of the road. Tried to turn the vehicle back on to no luck, sat waiting, then after 15 mins the accessory engine came on, lights flashing, windshield wipers going and the message "do not park until safe at your destination. " took the Jeep straight to the dealership, dealer plugs it is 70+ miscommunication errors pull up. Dealer calls me 3 days later to come get my Jeep and says nothing is wrong with it and they cannot diagnose it unless they see it in the act. I refuse to go pick it up as there is something wrong and I am not driving it with my 9month old.

64 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2021

My Jeep stalled in 50mph traffic causing a horribly dangerous situation. I barely coasted to the side of the road, and it wouldn't restart. I had it towed to the dealer where I was later told my tone/reluctor wheel had broken resulting in loss of signal from the crankshaft sensor so the vehicle shut down.

65 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2021

This 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee ecodiesel has an open recall for the egr system (recall w79). On December 29, 2020, the malfunction indicator light came on. I called the dealer (turnersville Jeep) for an appointment on Monday, January 4, 2021. The first available appointment was on Tuesday, January 12 2021. This dealer kept the vehicle until Friday, January 15. This dealer declined to repair the egr system under the w79 recall, but did replace all fuel injectors and the fuel tubes after finding the fuel injectors restricted. This dealer then cleared the dtc p026c-00 and performed a stationary regeneration. I picked the vehicle up at 5:15 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021 and proceeded to road test the vehicle. After about 75 miles of driving, I suffered a exteme and sudden loss of power at approximately 7:30 pm; the dash indicators included the malfunction indicator lamp, an error regarding the throttle body, and an error that the oil pressure was low. As I coasted to a stop, smoke began to rapidly pour from the hood cover and began to enter the cabin through the hvac vents. I vacated the vehicle immediately and under some duress. The smoke continued to billow from the engine area of the vehicle and I could see it continue to enter the cabin. At approximately 9:00 pm on January 15, the vehicle was delivered by flatbed to pellegrino Jeep. I spoke with the pellegrino Jeep service department on Saturday, January 16, 2021, but they were unable to provide a commitment to examine the vehicle. I opened case #78239258 with fca (Jeep) us llc customer service. As of January 20 at 11:30 am, I do not have feedback on this case. The dealer has also provided no commitment to examine the vehicle. I believe this vehicle suffered a failure due to the inability of fca and it's dealers to remediate recall w79.

66 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

Evaporator core behind the dash has developed a leak after 65,000 miles, without any off road use or being involved in any crashes. Paid $50,000. For this vehicle and expected it to last longer, especially without a $3000 repair that is a not a result of wear and tear.

67 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

Received a recall 1 month go but the dealer cannot repair-no parts!! recall w58 "a loss of motive power can result in a vehicle crash without prior warning" now I am frightened to drive to work but no way to get it repaired???.

69 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2020

While in motion in highway speeds my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 began to stall and suddenly turned off . The truck would not acclerate once I turned it on and I couldn't change gears. As this occured I began to lose control and nearly crashed into traffic. This is not the first incident as this has occured severaal times each resulting in near fatal collisions. I have reached out several time to the Jeep dealers who have already fixed the so called problem 3 times and keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the truck.

70 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2020

Recall# w58 there is currently no fix for this. Our car stopped, will not start and had to be towed to the dealer which is where we found out about the recall. Even if there's no fix, shouldn't we the consumer been notified of a recall that poses a potential safety issue? I have no vehicle, with no fix and the Chrysler refuses to provide a loaner vehicle. Our contacts with Chrysler have yielded nothing but a promise for a case manager to call. Nothing. No vehicle, no fix, no loaner.
