1 Clunking Noise problem of the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/28/2012

Good evening, I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 4x4. I had bought my vehicle a few years ago with about 18,000 miles on it. After taking it for a test drive there was a slight clicking noise from the front wheels. After today, the clicking noise seems to get louder at driving 25 mph. I tried to troubleshoot the problem by researching similar instances on the internet. There was a general consensus that a bad u-joint was the culprit due to a lack of permanent grease that should have been used by the manufacturer. Given that this can lead to the vehicle losing control when the u-joint snaps can be lethal. Please inquire whether this is a feasible issue that can be recalled for my vehicle. Thank you.
