While turning left or right vehicle makes noise and front end'jumps' and skids.
I bought this Grand Cherokee from san jose Dodge as a lease-back vehicle with 27,000 miles on it. At 51 mph, the right front tire vibrated severely, especially when entering a left curve; however at this speed the vibration is always noticeable. The vehicle also pulls to the right at all times. I took the vehicle back to san jose Dodge, where I purchased it, and they replaced the steering dampener. This did not solve the problem. I had new tires placed on the vehicle in mid 2000, and had the front end aligned. This minimized the vibration, but it was still noticeable. As the tires have worn down, the vibration has gotten worse. I've since relocated to connecticut. I took the vehicle to capitol Chrysler Dodge Jeep and asked them to check the front end for this problem. The technician, joseph e. Paradis, says that the tires are "out of round". I've had two sets of tires on this vehicle, and the problem is only in the front right side. I think there is a mechanical defect that neither dealer is either admitting to, or knowledgable about.
When consumer hits the brakes the whole front end starts shaking. This causes the consumer to lose control.

The Jeep pulls to the right. I have had it aligned, no cure. Now one dealer tells me it was "designed" that way. Nonsense. Another dealer at least admitted that they are getting that problem a lot. I see some in your databse already. It is a road hazard because if you ever divert your attention, it immediately wants to go right. I really would like it fixed or be indeminified for it. Thanks, wyman.

Front brakes replaced 1 year ago then received recall, winshield washer motor failed, power windows failed. Poor braking and vibration in pedal scraping noise from back end - rear bearings, differential, brakes and rotors need replacement.
On 4/14/2001 car began violently shaking at 50 mph, steering wheel shook and whole car and as brakes were applied rear end shook. Took car to dealer. They could not duplicate problem. Nothing done. Told to bring back if it happened again. On 5/10 happened again took it in and person from sevice dept. Rode with me as it violently shook. Felt as if it would fall apart. But again the sevice dept. Said they could not duplicate. I wouldn't take it back -felt it was too dangerous to drive. On 5/22 got car back with solenoid and transducer replaced. But still scared it might happen again.
When making sharp turns either right or left ,vehicle feels as though wheel wants to fall off. Front end will wobble and shake. Dealer claims it is a normal characteristic.

Problem is a vibration that comes in at 62-67 mph, local dealership agree's,but Chrysler denies problem. I am worried about the possibility of the wheels locking up at 60 or 70mph. Chrysler refuses to address the problem.
