Fca records indicate that your vehicle VIN # 1j4rs5gt8bc513586 was included in previous safety recall p54 (nhtsa14v-530) or safety recall r09 (NHTSA 15v-115). My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is now experiencing the issues that are discussed in the safety recall v62 fuel pump relay failure. This safety concern can cause the vehicle to not start due to the fuel pump stoppage, an engine stall while stopped and/or while moving, which can cause the vehicle to crash without prior warning. This is a huge safety concern for my family and I. We have taken the vehicle to the dealership on 3 occasions concerning this issue with the fuel pump relay stoppage with no long term fixes. I have no one else to turn to and asking for your help to resolve this issue.

My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee srt8 is having fuel pump problems, it is stalling while running and studdering when pressing the gas, more specifically happens while merging on highway and accelerating. I took it to the dealership and they notified me of there being a recall on the pump and there isn't a fix for it. Also notified me that I can not register or sell the vehicle with this problem.

Leased my Grand Cherokee 2020. Drove the car twice. It wasn't even 24 hrs since I had the car, my car broke down the 2nd time I drove it (on a Friday). I was waiting on line for my sons graduation. It was a drive through graduation because of covid-19. I was the 1st on line and had 50 cars behind me. When I was asked to proceed my gear didnt shift. I turned the car off and tried restarting it and it didn't start. Had to get the car towed to a dealer. I was told id have to wait till Monday. Called Jeep to complain. I asked for a loaner and was told I had to pay for it. I find that insensitive, rude & unprofessional. It hadn't been 24 hrs that I had the car, I only had 88 miles on the car and I was being asked to pay for a loaner for a car that broke down because of a manufacture defect. Im assuming because I filed a complaint with Jeep, they pressed the dealer to look at the car ASAP. I received a call to say I ran out of gas. My gas indicator showed I had a half tank of gas. The fuel sending unit which sends a signal to the gas gauge on the dash, letting you know how much fuel is in your the tank wasn't working. The sending unit is integrated with the tank fuel pump & strainer. So both my fuel pumps need to change. The main fuel pump is on back order and I was told I could be waiting weeks or months for the pump to come in. I was told as long as I gas up my car every 200-250 miles I "should" be fine until the fuel tank comes in. I was very disappointed with Jeep customer service. Not only were they unapologetic but they did not try to find a way to accommodate me for a problem that they were responsible for. Sadly I just received this car on a 42 month lease. I have to wait for the car to be fixed and pray that I don't get stuck on the road again or any other problem arise. I wouldn't worry about my 42 month lease if I knew I could rely on their customer service.

Safety recall for fuel pump relay that can cause engine to stall while driving v62/NHTSA 19v-813. Nhtsa #19v-813 reported in 11/2019. Complaint to Chrysler Jeep for no remedy as of June 2020.
March 2020, I went to a Chrysler dealership to have a recall repaired on my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, due to issue with my car starting. I contacted mopar regarding the procedure to repair the fuel pump relay recall. I was advised no parts were available yet, and the dealership should use a replacement part to temporarily repair the recall. Recall v62 was repaired, along with 2 other recalls, stated by the service department in March 2020. June 8, 2020 my vehicle stalled while driving, I immediately informed the dealership, and I was told the repair never was completed. After speaking with mopar and representatives at the dealership, the dealership failed to submit the correct documentation to mopar, also gave me misinformation, and the temporary fix failed. The vehicle had been hesitating to start after several times for a week and a half. The vehicle then shut off at a stop light. I was able to start the car after several attempts, and it then stalled while driving in a busy area on June 8, 2020. I contacted and opened a case through mopar regarding the recall procedures after my car has stalled, and there is still no resolution to fix the vehicle. The representative informed me to "drive safe" and unfortunately there was no solution or timeline for the final recall repair. The representative stated that until my car has further issues, I would not be able to get a case manager. This policy is hazardous and causing a safety issue to me due to the already failed attempt to repair the recall, and no immediate or foreseeable resolution to the problem.

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. In regards to fuel pump relay safety recall NHTSA recall #19v-813 & manufacturer recall #v62. The manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall repair. Jeep has experienced shut-off while driving on freeway but nobody injured. Brought vehicle to dealer and they replaced fuel relay again but was informed that there is still no part or fix from manufactuer.
There is a long standing recall on the subject vehicle fuel pump relay. However, Jeep is unable to supply a suitbale replacement part. Unanticipated failure of this part can lead to immediate engine stoppage. Fca is unable to give a date when the replacement may be available.
When starting the car it won't turn on completely when you start you can her a noise near the fuel pump area this started about 2 months ago. When the engine was I complete parked and wanted to started wouldn't start after a couple tries would start without an issue, but today I have tried what I used to do and won't start, I've heard of a recall on this specific year but I have not received anything on the mail.
I have been contacting garber auto mall Jeep dealer since April 23, and I am always told no parts are available for my fuel pump relay safety recall.
On 4/10/2020 I was idling in gear in a fast food drive-thru lane. I could hear and feel the engine start to sputter. I put the car into park and tried applying gas to keep the engine at a higher rev. After about a minute the engine stopped. I tried multiple times to get the vehicle to start but all it did was to have an extended crank time without it starting. I was able to get some help to push it out of the way of other vehicles. After about 5 minutes of sitting I was able to start it and drive it home. I have had multiple occurrences of this issue. The last time was while I was entering and turning in a busy intersection. Another time was while I was 25 miles down a dirt road. I have had the tipm and/or the fuel pump(s) replaced at a Jeep dealer at least three times. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle under any condition! I use it to tow my trailer and to go off-roading. What would happen if I was doing either one of these at the time of a failure!.
There's a eecall for the fuel pump, that may cause my Jeep to stop all of a sudden when driving it. The recall has yet to have an answer as to when it will get fixed. I don't want my car to stall as um driving and cause an accident, the safety of my children is at risk. Need this to be fixed ASAP.
Recall NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 remedy says that we will receive a second notice when final remedy becomes available. It notes that vehicles experiencing a fuel pump failure will receive an interim repair. I have been to 2 dealerships and called fca multiple times to talk about this recall's interim repair and have been sent around with no answer. They seem to be purposely dodging any accountability for this interim repair they have promised. My vehicle has stalled multiple times on streets and highways.
Fuel pump delay. Car acts in start mood but does not do complete start. Delayed mood. This happens in park mood. Has not happened while I'm driving. . . Yet. When will a repair become available?.
The vehicle does not start at times, it also has started just dying on the road. In November 2019, we received a recall notice on our Jeep owner portal. There is a fuel pump relay failure. Since then, we have regularly called the dealership and a remedy is still not available. This is becoming a huge safety concern for our family as the vehicle is now dying in traffic. When I have my foot on the gas, I can feel the vehicle is not receiving gas. Sometimes it dies entirely and other times it putters and jolts back to life. This happens several times a week. I just got off the phone with the dealership again and they said no remedy is available. I described what is going on with the vehicle and they stated that sounds like the recall causing the issues. Today I was almost hit by a semi truck because the Jeep died in traffic.
Vehicle is experiencing a no start condition due to the fuel pump relay failing. This is happening more and more resulting in dangerous conditions especially in freezing temperatures.
My wife kendra was driving the said vehicle which is her every day vehicle to a doctors appointment on Feb. 7, 2020 and the fuel pump relay switch shut the fuel off causing 5he vehicle to stall as wife was attempting to drive through a 6 lane busy intersection. Wife was terrified because she couldn't maneuver vehicle to safety leaving her stuck with cars traveling at 45-50 mph through the intersection and she couldn't safely exit the vehicle. She called me for help and as I was on the phone with her two barely missed her with screeching brakes and her screaming. I was 2 minutes from her and as I was approaching the vehicle started. We brought the vehicle home and I immediately called Chrysler about the issue because I had already attempted to get the recall fixed but they (rockwall Dodge) said the recall part isn't available prior to this incident. Chrysler said I could take the vehicle to rockwall Dodge where they could do a temporary fix, whatever that is. That was Feb 7 2020 and I'm in a rental with no fix or temporary fix, that I call bs. This very dangerous for vehicle owners and may cause a death or serious injury to motorists. My wife has to drive over a 4 mile bridge 4 lanes east and 4 lanes west with only an outside shoulder between rowlett and rockwall TX with speed that vary between 70-90 mph, if it was to stall there she's very likely to be hurt bad or killed. To this date no temporary fix and now Chrysler and rockwall Dodge are trying to make me pay for a rental. Please put pressure on them to resolve this before there is loss of life.
My 18 year old son was driving his 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland on a bridge at night when it all of a sudden the car stalled!!! the battery light flashed, lots of other lights flashed, then all power shut off! he could not steer, no lights were working, nothing! thank god he was able to stop in-between lanes in a small area where cars were not traveling. He called 911 and they slowed traffic down and after difficulty getting car into neutral, he was towed off the road. I immediately contacted Chrysler corp and learned of a recall of the fuel pump relay which when defective could cause exactly what happened to my son to happen. We were invited to take vehicle into mike stead Chrysler Jeep in richmond, CA for them to install a new fuel pump relay as instructed by Chrysler corporation (fca). The dealership refused to install the part, asking me to pay a $199 diagnostic fee and claiming that our vehicle had other problems that had to be fixed before they could even check the recalled part. I am very dissatisfied and horrified that they now want to charge me $50/day storage because I refuse to pay for work when I was promised that they would replace the recalled part. We need help! I believe all these vehicles are a complete danger and sadly, the new part hasn't been manufactured yet. I am appalled that such a large corporation knowingly is allowing vehicles to operate when such a danger is possible. My son could have been killed! I would like for these vehicles to be recalled until the new part is manufactured. The next person may not be so lucky!.
The car will start then the power to the fuel pump cuts out. Then the car will not start for more than 5 minutes. It is recall 19v-813 that was identified a year ago and it is the fix to a fix of the original problem.
Vehicle would not start. Vehicle was towed to dealership and fuel pump relay was identified as the cause of the problem, recall exists and the fuel pump relay was replaced. However, fuel pump relay caused the battery to drain also necessitating replacement. Fca/mopar only authorized reimbursement of the fuel pump relay and not for the battery even though it was directly related and the dealership technician stated the same. Spoke with multiple reps from fca who could not provide any assistance. An oil change and systems diagnostic test was performed on the vehicle just before the fuel pump failure and no issues with the battery were identified. I was told the battery could not be replaced because I tried to start the vehicle. . . Which seems incredulous to me as that is what most people do when they leave for work. How was I supposed to know the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced unless I tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't turn over?.
Fuel pump relay - my car stalls when it wants and takes off really fast when it wants, and starts when it wants to transmission. - I am told there has been a recall on the transmission my car is slipping gears.
When applying brakes to slow down/come to a stop, the vehicle will sporadically stall. Everything electrical still works (radio, lights, stereo) and there are no warning lights that show up on the dash. The only way to know the vehicle has shut off is to either look at the tachometer and notice the needle is sitting on zero, or pressing the accelerator and the vehicle doesn't move. Once the vehicle has been shifted into neutral and the brakes are applied, the vehicle starts right up with a push of the start button. All previous recalls for the fuel pump relay have been performed as well as the latest v62 interim recall as recent as 3 days ago. Vehicle stalled again this morning while approaching a 4-way stop sign on the way to work.
I have had a problem with my car stalling randomly since the day I bought it brand new off the lot. I have been complaining to the dealership for 8 years now and they have never once offered to fix it. They kept telling me nothing was wrong with my car. The last time I took my car in for randomly stalling (while on the freeway), my warrenty has just expired and then they told me I had to replace my entire fuel pump system. Now a few weeks ago I received a recall about my fuel pump system saying do not drive your vehicle beaucse its unsafe. The manufacture has told me they will not supply me with a rental car, public transportation pass nor will they reimburse me for rideshare services. I have had nothing be problem after problem with this car I bought brand new off the lot. Now they are telling me not to drive it until its fixed but cant tell me when they can fix it. This is absurd. My dash board in my car also was defective (the leather covering it shrunk and peeled up). The manufacture told me it was "cosmetic" and they would not cover it so after years of complaining, I finally just paid for a whole new dash board myself out of my own pocket. Now they just sent me a recall for this part and I've already paid for it. How can you help?.
The engine will occasionally crank and crank but not turn over. It will even continue to crank even after letting go of the start button. Multiple attempts to start car are not successful. On several occasions it will start the next day , however this means we can not drive the vehicle due to this problem. Can't afford to drive somewhere and have to get a ride back home, which I have already done several times. The Jeep dealer fixed this problem on Jan 11, 2020, and on invoice they stated the authorized repair of fuel pump relay wiring kit is completed and now starting as it should. They informed me that they did not have the recall part as manufacturer has not yet supplied it, so the dealer recommended a fix around which I agreed to in the absence of the recall part. The problem persists so I returned the car to the dealer to make sure that the problem isn't something other than the recall item.
I had the original recall done for the fuel pump relay, after just over 2 years it stopped working and when it doesn't work the car can't start. They told me that I had the recall done and it was more than 2 years, I was no longer covered. I have replaced it twice already since then. I just received a letter from Jeep and they have put a second recall on this part. However they don't have the part which is about $10 and the car will not start without it. I called the dealership and main company and was told if I have a problem starting or stall while driving I am to have it towed to the nearest dealership and they will look at it and evaluate the problem and if the relay is the problem they will repair it with an over the counter part and will call me when the dealership part comes in. I asked how long it would take to evaluate my car if it was towed in to be fixed. No one could give me an answer. Only saying once they look at it and figure out the problem then I would be notified. Here is a quote from the letter they sent me a vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning . So my question is, is this car safe to drive as is, and if not what are my choices. They have no answer for this. I am informing you of this problem, they didn't offer a rental car when I said what do I do with this situation. A $10 part and they don't have any, I keep 2 replacements in the glove box in case my car doesn't start but I didn't know the car can just stall while driving. That is very dangerous for everyone that owns one of these vehicles and the cars around them. It's a disgrace and I think they knew about this problem and didn't prepare to have the parts ready for this problem. I just hope no one dies.
My Grand Cherokee has stalled several dozen times over the past few years and the dealer can't fix it. The car stalls when slowing to a stop or turning through an intersection but we can't duplicate the problem at the service center. The dealer kept the car for nearly a month trying to duplicate the problem but could not, but I have kept records over the past year of all stalls and the conditions and the only condition that remains constant is that I am quickly braking from 40 mph or faster or I am braking while turning. Initially it only occurred while turning left, but now it occurs while turning right and while braking quickly while going straight. I have been in several near misses due to losing power steering and brakes and I am to the point to where I can't allow anyone but me to drive the car due to the safety factor. Twice I almost hit a car while turning and once a big rig almost hit me in the side as the car stalled mid-intersection of a six lane highway. The car is still under Chrysler's warranty, and as noted, the dealer has tried to fix the problem, but has failed time after time. The problem has occurred dozens of times but the latest time was today, at which point I decided to submit this complaint. Although I can't duplicate the problem on demand, there are 3locations where it most often occurs, and it most often occurs in the morning. The first location is about 2. 5 miles from my house, and the other two are 5 miles each from my house. Two of the three locations are at intersections with red lights, while the third is simply the location of where I work where it has stalled multiple times while just turning into the driveway. It also has stalled several times while coming home or just driving around or on vacation. Dealer has replaced fuel pump relay, wiring, and some emission control parts.
They sent me a letter back in January 2020 that my fuel pump relay needed to be replaced and it is July 14th 2020 and it's still not available to be replaced.
There were two recall in late 2019 from fca for my Jeep. One has been for the fuel pump relay which Jeep has the part but I've been unable to schedule for repair because the Jeep dealership said they cannot get the part and blames Jeep (fca). Fca blames the dealership. The second recall was for the dash pad peeling up, which requires a new dash pad. Again I've been trying to schedule this for 1 1/2 years and again the dealership blames fca and fca says the dealership isn't ordering correctly and fca has recently told me that "someone" at Jeep has been cancelling the orders submitted without explanation. The fuel pump relay is a safety recall going on for the past 1+ years. The replacement dash pad has prevented me from trading in or selling my vehicle because the problem has negatively impacted the value of the vehicle.
Notified on 12-24-19 that: "fuel pump relay safety recall" "silicon contamination on the relay contacts may cause the relay to fail. This can result in a no-strt condition or an engine stall condition if the vehicle is running. A vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash with out prior waring. " six months after notification resolution still not available due to "parts not available. " one would think that Chrysler could solve a critical situation like this within a six month time frame! I have basically left the vehicle parked. Do not dare to drive in 5 or 500 miles.
Vehicle constantly stalls. Recall was performed for the fuel pump relay however this did not completely solve the problem as it still stalls randomly or won't start at all. Huge safety concern have been almost hit on the road from random stalls. Took it to my local mechanics and they say the fuel pump relay is burning out the fuses and I need to constantly check on them to make sure they're not burnt out. Took it to brookdale Chrysler Jeep Dodge after recall was performed to complain about it still stalling years ago. Brookdale Chrysler refused to perform any service as they could not duplicate the issue. Ever since then I've been dealing with this issue and it's horrifying to drive the vehicle sometimes and incredibly disappointed as I'm still paying off this vehicle. Randomly stalls on turns, city roads, highway speeds, or even when in idle.
Vehicle was being refueled, ( fuel level was approx 1/3 full and was being completely filled). Vehicle would not start after fueling and was towed to a nearby mechanic for diagnosis and repair. Problem was diagnosed as a fuel pump failure. Upon removal of fuel pump from gas tank, and replacement, vehicle again operated normally. An examination of the failed fuel pump revealed that the fuel pump electrical harness connection had overheated and melted - certainly a very dangerous condition for a component that resides in the gas tank.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 35 mph, the engine stalled and all the indicators on the instrument panel illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive home. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (fuel pump). The contact spoke with an unknown dealer and was informed to wait on the recall. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the part was not available for the repair and advised the contact that they may need to replace the fuel pump; however, it may not correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Vehicle would not start on 06 Dec 2019; was attempting to start but kept making sputtering and scratching noises. Ac power works. Towed to dealership and decoded as a fuel pump relay (as stated in recall we just received!!) dealership refused to fix per recall.

My Jeep stopped in the middle of the highway sat evening, I was not able to pull over to the shoulder, I was on a steep curve with cars flying by beeping at me. It was terrifying and is a serious safety issue. It was determined and diagnosed by the dealership that this is due to the current recall out. My car is not driveable until this recall is remedied and the dealership informed me that they do not have the parts to repair my truck. It is disgraceful that you would allow me as a customer to be put in this type of situation, not even offering me a loaner car. I have been having to pay to uber to work, to physical therapy and to breast cancer treatment. This fuel pump related recall was issued over a month ago. If you are unable to repair an active recall, then you need to find an alternate resolution for me as the customer. To make matters worse I'm told if I pay for my recall it can be repaired with existing defective parts until the recall parts become available and being told I can attempt to collect my money back from corporate. This is unacceptable. Being that no one is able to provide me with resolution, here are my proposed solutions:.
Email 2 of 2 here are my proposed solutions: #1 corporate pays the dealership to fix the recall problem with the fuel pump relay issue now with the current parts they have and then the dealer will fix it again when you get the correct recall parts in. You as Chrysler can sort it out with the dealer and I as the customer am not asked to pay for a recall. #2 if my car is not able to be repaired until the recall parts are available, then provide me with a loaner car until my car is repaired. My Jeep died on the middle of the highway on 11/30/19 during the evening. It is a serious safety concern as it stopped in the middle of the lane and the shoulder at a dangerous curve and cars were flying by beeping at me. I am very fortunate my Jeep was not hit and I wasn't hurt. I had it towed to route 46 Jeep in little falls NJ where they diagnosed the problem as part of the current fuel pump recall. They told me I would have to pay for the recall as it is a new recall. A customer is not responsible to pay for a recall. I need your help. I need my truck to get to work and breast cancer treatment. The dealer has had it for 3 days trying to figure out how to handle this situation. This is not acceptable. Can you please intervene.
