Discovered that all windows and side mirrors were no longer operarable from within vechicle panel on driver side. Unable to lock the vechicle from within, as well. Unable to lock the vechicle with key control from outside, only manually, though the key control can still lock all other doors, including the rear gate. Firestone stated that only a Jeep dealer can repair this issue.

The navigation system has a weather alert notification that can't be disabled. It takes up the entire infotainment screen and does not go away unless I take my eyes off the road to click on it to close the window. This happens everyday in my Jeep with a wind advisory. Pretty absurd notification especially since it happens every day. I live on the west coats and understand it can be windy. Super dangerous to constantly pop up and make me close it manually.

One day when leaving a barbershop my wife tried to start our Jeep and it would not crank. It would turn over, start for a second then turn off. After sitting for a while longer it started up and drove fine. This past Sunday we were leaving a gas station to get on the interstate and in the middle of an intersection it shut off. All acceleration stopped and the Jeep went into park and left us stuck in the middle of the intersection. Once we used the manual park release and got out of the intersection we let it sit for a little bit. My wife got in the driver seat and it started right up. We then drove it to an auto parts store and had the check engine light diagnosed as the neutral safety switch. I spoke with a local dealership and was told that that is not a part listed in their parts catalog. This vehicle shut off and my pregnant wife could have been t-boned in the blink of an eye.

Since the last recall for the Jeep eco deisel the system has been running the deisel exhaust regeneration at least once a week (8 times in 7 weeks since the recall update was performed). I took it to the dealership again, they performed a manual regeneration and this did not solve the problem, it started it again a week later. This means I have to drive my car at highway speeds for at least 10-15 minutes to get it to shut off (even though it doesn't actually regenerate the filter) and my engine is overworking and lagging. The dealership said it is a software problem that since the recall everyone with the Jeep eco diesels is complaining of.
Forward collision warning does not work. Dealership says the system will work correctly if the adaptive cruise control is activated. All information in the various Jeep owner's manual does not specific acc activation as a requirement. Searching the internet reveals many people experience the same problem. Jeep doesn't seem interested in helping.

On 10/12/18 I was getting ready to go to work however when I tried to open my car it would not open my car was parking the parking lot of where I live I called nielsen Dodge and they help me to open the car manually and silence the alarm but the car was not turning on and neither the dealer nor the people from ucconect could remotely start my Jeep, my car was towed to nielsen Dodge in rt 10 and it has been there for two weeks now and they still cannot give me an estimate as to when my car will be fixed or if it will be fixed. On 10/24/18 Chrysler sent out an engineer to look at my Jeep and I went in today for a follow up and the told they have to order a part but they do not know how will it take for the part to arrive, my case number with Chrysler is 57198050. I read online and see other people having similar issues with 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee not turning on please help me with this matter as it is now been 2 weeks and I just need to know if or when the car will be fixed.

The automatic charging system light came on 2 hours into driving north on the highway to wisconsin from chicago. There was no human action that correlated with the light coming on. It simply came on when going consistent speed on the highway in no traffic. I learned from the driver's manual that this most likely meant that the alternator had failed and I needed to get assistance immediately. I took the car into a repair shop on a Thursday where it would remain for 10 days as things began to unfold. The employees of the repair shop could identify no fault in the alternator after thorough inspection and driving tests. The warning light had turned off. However, after it had been cleared of all inspection and turned on, there was an enormous failure in the car causing it to smoke. Without warning, the alternator caused such a massive short that it not only failed itself, but also broke the car's engine computer. I come to find out that there was a recall by Chrysler (t36) for this specific issue and included 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee's. I was never made aware of this recall but there is no question that this failure is specific to the manufacturing errors by Chrysler Jeep. There have been a total of 10 recalls on the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 3 of which have been specific to this vehicle, and clearly, now a 4th. This could have been a been an incredibly dangerous situation and the failure by Chrysler to notify me or include my vehicle in their recall is preposterous. I have documentation regarding repair and claims attached. More info and claim documents available upon request.

When the vehicle is approached with 2 electronic key fobs for the same vehicle, or when two key fobs are present in the vehicle, or in close proximity, the rear liftgate can spontaneously open. After opening, the rear liftgate may or may not respond to close key presses on the keyfob(s). This could occur at any time, including while vehicle is moving, potentially allowing interior wind buffeting and allowing cargo to fall from rear of vehicle. This has happened multiple times, while vehicle was stationary and while in motion. On at least one occasion, while in motion, driver had to stop and exit the vehicle and manually close the liftgate.

This is a brand new car. Have been only two weeks with me. Back door does not open most of the time. I bring the car to the dealer and they told me is something with the program, and they fixed it, but before getting the car outside from the dealer it does the same failure 3 more times. Is the second car in less than a month, since the first one I buyed present failures too. The first one was the same model and star to presents problems turning on. Dealer change it saying there are some damages and after two weeks of having this new one, the problem with the back door began. It may open one day and the other not or during the day. Does not open traying the beeper, the bottom inside the car or manually.
Letter from senator flake on behalf of constituent re unsafe 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee ( please respond via fax: 520-797-3232 or email: bob_brubaker@flake. Senate. Gov). The consumer stated the forward collision alert warning never activate under any circumstance when set to the far setting which the manual said to only use. In 3800, it alerted once and that was a false alert when a another vehicle made a right turn in front of him, but not in the consumers path. The dealer claimed nothing was wrong with the vehicle.
I pulled in to my brothers driveway there was snow on the ground. Put the car in park turned it off and exited the car. It started rolling forward so I jumped back in the car and put on the brake then moved it backwards a little and exited the car again. Again car in park and shut off. I walked in front of the car and found my brother. Asi was walking back to the car, it rolled forward again about 8 feet and hit my nephew's car sending it through the garage door. The next day I has the car towed to the dealership as I was afraid to drive it. Results from the dealer were nothing wrong. They told the the care had what's called and open differential and if the on wheel skidded the car would roll forward. I told them I had never heard of anything so absurd and their comment was that I needed to read the owner's manual and make sure I use the parking brake. I talked with the dealership owner and told him about it. He also told me that he had never heard of anything like this either. I asked that he talk with his sales people and have them tell their buyers anpbout this. I then talked with a customer service agent at Chrysler who told me she had never heard of such a thing. As a follow Chrysler sent a survey to me regarding their customer service . I recounted this situation and have heard nothing. I will never purchase another Jeep and if I could cancel the lease right now I would do so. This is very dangerous. I had been standing in front of my car just before it rolled forward. In addition, my car insurance premium was increased by $50 per month because of this accident?????? when I did nothing to create the problem. These vehicles should not be on the road with dangers like this. People could very easily be killed or very injured. I have told numerous people never to buy this car because of its danger.

Airbag system(orc module I have been trying to get recalls on my Jeep Grand Cherokee done ive dealt with the dealerships & Chrysler with no result. I started recording calls& have set up a whole file just for transactions & correspondence regarding my cars recalls. I'm disabled & need my car since Jan it has been in my garage. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard chryslers rep admit what they were doing to "get out of replacing recall parts" rendering my car useless I also read my car manual & it advised go straight to service, continuing to drive could result in accident or death with this warning. I called service told me to ignore was no recall open. Jump ahead months showed recall but referred me to Chrysler for part! I continued my battle & realized what was really going on & the rep. I spoke to confirmed what I thought was going on. He said he was so ashamed to be working for a company that would do this & repeatedly apologized as if to not be overheard. I can't fight Chrysler alone. When I call for an appointment at service dealership the say part not in check with Chrysler . I have a car that is a death trap sounds like they are waiting on older model cars to be traded in or got rid of so Chrysler wont have to pay for recall parts! he said "your exactly right about that I feel so bad its not right & I really want to help people but I can only say what they tell us. He offered to email about my disability & maybe expedite me the part but stated it probably wouldn't help. They are holding out forcing people to drive unsafe cars or get rid of them in my case the airbag warning light is left on & will stay on until the defect is repaired. Who would buy a car with the airbag warning light on & not be able to fix it! I need to get inspection and tags due or insurance will lapse. I hope you can help, best regards.

On December 26, 2014 I was rear ended in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee as I was making a right turn onto my road. I was slowed down to approximately 10 mph or less as I was turning and got hit by a large pick-up truck. First of all, I am happy that my Jeep tolerated the force from the rear end collision as well as it did, and it even took bouncing off a guide rail pretty well too; however, the safety feature in the headrest is something that needs to be addressed. Since I had no front or side impact, none of my airbags deployed. However, the airbag in the headrest made the headrest slam my head forward causing whiplash and a neck injury. I understand this is supposed to be a safety feature; however, it caused me more injury. I was never aware that my car had this feature. Several days after the accident, I decided to look in my owner's manual and there is nothing in there regarding the headrests. It only mentions the front airbags, curtain airbags and seat airbags. My insurance adjustor wasn't even familiar with this feature when he came out to inspect the damage to my vehicle. If I would have known about the airbag in the headrest and the injury that it could cause, I would have had the headrests removed from my car and replaced them with standard headrests! since the accident, I am dealing with headaches and am going to physical therapy for my neck injury. I seriously hope no one else suffers from this "safety feature" that I wasn't even made aware of as the owner.
I was notified Nov 2014 that my ignition switch was defective. I received 3 subsequent notices but could not get the dealership to respond to my requests for service. Finally in Feb 2016 the dealership advised that they had the parts and would do the work. Originally we had 3 working ignition keys. After the recall work was complete we only had 1 usable key. When we went back to the dealership with the other 2 keys they charged $109. 95 to program a "manual key" . I was stuck with the bill and a second electronic key that still doesn't work. They said I would have to buy another electronic key (one with panic button, door open/ lock and trunk lock). This replacement would run between $200 - $400.

I was driving on route 50 going 65mph. This vehicle is a quad 4x4 automatic / stick shift manual, which was in my favor. When I realized the vehicle was shutting down I had to think quickly what my next steps would be. I started to get over to the right side of the road and brake, because the vehicle was shutting down the power brakes where going out and I could not brake completely. The vehicle was still moving and I was about 200 yards away from my exit and the side of the road was winding around toward the off ramp and getting smaller for me to drive on. I realized that I was not able stop the vehicle by using the floor brake then the fear factor set in. In my mind the only thing I can do is pull the stick shift handbrake and quickly put the vehicle in park then I was able to get control and safely stop the vehicle. This ordeal happened at 4:20pm yesterday and by the time we towed the vehicle back to the dealership and tried to explain to the general sales manager, si faige, on site at darcars in new carrollton, MD what all transpired on the road in the unsafe vehicle that they sold us, he didn¿t want to hear any of it.

I recieved a recall letter in June 2013 from Chrysler recall n23/NHTSA 13v-175 transfer case actuator. Stating software was not available just yet to fix. Then in August 2013 recieved a second recall notice explaining that the software is now available for the recall to be resolved. All I have to do is go to a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership and have the software reprogram the final drive controller module. On August 13/2013 I had the recall serviced at johnson Dodge dealership in budd lake NJ ( 481 rt 46 budd lake NJ 07828). They did service my vehicle for said recall. The next day and everyday since I have a warning light on my dash stating""service 4wd system". I read the car manual and did some trouble shooting, but light still on. I tried to put vehicle into 4wd lo, as instructed by the car manual. Result, is doesn't go into 4wd lo, warning message still coming on. I made an appointment (August 22/2013) for the same dealer to inspect this issue because I do believe possibly something was either done incorrectly, or wrong software. End result from second visit to dealer is , my transfer case actuator needs replacing !! ($600 plus tax) . They will replace it, but I feel the two issues are related, and I should not have to pay the bill. The dealer reinspected all above components and stated the software is not working properly with the actuator? so end result is they want to replace the actuator. My original recall letter said I may have a fault in the actuator, but the second letter stated for the new software to fix all. The dealer said thats all they can do! call Chrysler and see what they say. Tried to call a second dealer, ( dover Dodge in randolph & rockaway NJ) and still waiting for a call back. I then called a 800# for Chrysler a customer hot line (800-992-1997) given to me by dealer, those too, I'm waiting on a resolution. Thank you dan strelec.
My car keys stopped working in 2010. This means that every time I lock the doors I need to do it manually which cancels the alarm to function. My car does not have any protection form being broken into. I have searched the problem online and there are several owners that have the same problem which is described as defective keys.

After experiencing the first flat tire in 8 years, we needed to change the wheel and had to use the lug wrench provided with the vehicle for the first time. The wrench was applied and a great deal of force was needed to loosen the lug nuts. After completing the tire change we went to replace the lug wrench and noted that it would no longer fold. Upon closer examination we saw that the hole where the socket connects to the handle had stretched because of the force applied to loosen the lug nuts. We are thankful that the wrench did not break while force was being applied. A sudden break at that point would certainly have resulted in injury. We did check the ownerã‚s manual to see if there was any warning about the obvious strength limitations of the lug wrench to prevent this type of failure but found none. It appears that either there was a defect in our lug wrench ( the number stamped on it was 7k09 2) or there was a failure on your part to warn the consumer about the inherent defect in the design of the lug wrench.

: the contact stated after towing the vehicle and driving it 20 miles at 50 mph, there was a intense smell of burning rubber surrounding the outside of the vehicle. The smell was coming from the center front of the vehicle near the firewall. The vehicle was taken to a service dealer on 3 separate occasions for the same issue, but the dealer was unable to determine the problem. The manufacturer was also notified, who the contact stated was very rude. The consumer stated the owners manual was incorrect on how to tow a vehicle. Updated 01/10/07.
