Radio is going crazy with volume, stations, conecting to any phone in or near DE vehicle, dialing and haging on its on. Seat heating turning on all the way up and steering wheel aswell. A/c starts on its own and keeps changing hot to cold and maxing it as well as turning it off. It all started in July 2022 and it keeps doing on and off.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while reversing the radio stayed on the display screen. The dealer was contacted, and the dealer stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted, and the manufacturer also stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was 28,000.
Uconnect is the stereo in this vehicle. It has been replaced 4 times. It glitches and causes the system to freeze and restart itself. The dealership has done all they can do and sent me a picture of the response they received from Jeep to wait for an update. I reached out to Jeep, they told me to contact uconnect. I did and I get the same response, even from the people in higher positions. My issues are 1) safety - this screen is used for the back up cameras. What if I back over someone or something? 2) heated steering wheel and seats are also controlled from this panel. I live in nebraska and I do not want to freeze my butt off or fry it off just because I can't access the buttons. Again, my number one concern is the safety of not being able to accurately access the back up cameras. I am supposed to wait for this update to happen in June or July. I have been dealing with this since I got the vehicle in April of 2020. This occurs when backing up, hot or cold outside, driving anywhere, forward, backwards, in town, on the highway. Any time, no specific rhyme or reason for when it happens! I have videos as well but it appears that I can not load them because they are a mov file. The mileage and dates provided are the most recent. As stated above, there have been several instances and radio replacements.

A screen appeared asking if I want to adjust the clock and it beeps constantly and won't go away. I took it to the dealership and they told me my radio is defect and this is a common problem on the year and model.
I purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee grand limited on 02/24/21 & the navigation system displayed I was in the wrong city. I called uconnect & Jeep numerous times & was advised to recalibrate the navigation & given instructions. This did not work & was advised on Jeep had my information in the system that I was the new owner they would look into helping me pay for the problem & take it to Jeep. I took it to a Jeep dealership after taking it to the original dealership I purchased the vehicle from & they unable to fix the issue & was advised by Jeep the radio had internal failure & the unit needs to be replaced. Contacted Jeep & uconnect who have now reniged on there word & are advising me I now have to pay for repairs. This is a known issue with this particular vehicle after doing online research & I would like some assistance with getting Jeep to pay for the repairs to my vehicle.
After recent update to the computer system for the vehicle, the navigation system no longer works and has me driving in fields in an area that is not even close to where I am and it stays in that vicinity. This occurred after the update. Occurrence was approx. 02/20/2021 after the last update. I've had the dealership check the issue, and they advised that it was a known issue, and I would need to buy a new radio. They had a big stack of radio orders sitting there - all due to the same issue. The radios should be recalled as this is a wide spread issue. Your update caused the navigation system to break down. I should not have to pay for the new radio. Please contact me to discuss.
After recent update to the computer system for the vehicle, the navigation system no longer works and has me driving in fields in an area that is not even close to where I am and it stays in that vicinity. Also the radio settings no longer hold with the recent updates. This all occurred after the update. I've tried programing in city streets, moving in neighborhood streets and highways, parked. Fearful more things electrical could go wrong. Occurrence was approx. 02/19/2021 after the last update.
Uconnect 4c 8. 4" display w/nav sirius satellite radio: favorites are saved, but when notification that a favorite is playing, the screen is empty. Been happening at least 6 months. Reached out to uconnect, and they said they were aware of the problem, and suggested upgrading software through local Jeep dealership. Tech from dealership advised that they could update my software, but, it could render the unit unusable. . . . Along with my hvac controls. A recent software update was available over-the-air, but it did not remedy the issue. This issue happens daily, whether driving or stationary. Not only affecting my 2018 Grand Cherokee, but my wife's 2019 Dodge durango with the same radio.
While driving my entire radio screen freezes, can't control temperature or radio. This happens sporadically while I am driving sometimes every 2 minutes. It is very distracting and I am afraid it is going to cause a electrical fire. This can happen immediately after the car stops and the backup camera freezes or it can happen while the car is in motion driving. I have not contacted the dealership yet because 2 other vehicles I have are getting recalls repaired. This screen controls everything in the vehicle and should be repaired or replaced if it has issues. I plan to call the dealership in the next two weeks.
Touchscreens are DE-laminating, causing issues with radio control, backup camera and backup camera sensor system. It's a safety issue for pedestrians and other vehicles as much as it is a distraction for drivers - radio stations and settings changing while driving, etc. There is a growing number of vehicles manufactured in 2018 that have the uconnect 8. 4 screen encountering this problem, including other lines such as the Dodge ram.
I have a 2018 grand Jeep and since I took delivery in 2018 he uconnect feature has never worked right, and now is beyond useless/dangerous. I have been given the run arounds by the dealership, and doesn't want to cover 2018 vehicle in 2020 with very little use this whole year. The whole system is not safe with random changes with radio volume, temp changes, nav changing instructions in route, etc. It's beyond frustrating and I can't seem to get a straight or help. Online this has been an issue for year before my model was sold, and never addresses. This is fraud and straight negelence, and I wish I could give this vehicle back. Worse purchase ever!!.
Twice in the past two months, vehicle has completely shut down during braking, while in motion, while making a right hand turn. Lost power brakes, steering, everything. The first time it happened luckily no one was behind me. The second time, the steering wheel locked and I ended up in the median curb with two cars behind me that had to abruptly swerve to avoid me. It was a complete shut down. No power anything, radio, lights, nothing. I came to a stop after standing on the brake with all my weight! I put the car in p and it started right up after that. Very scary and unsafe, needless to say! I have since parked it but am having a really hard time with a family of 5 down to one car. I am on an email list to be notified when there is a fix, but it seems they're not in a hurry! the recall number for this fix is 19v-813. Thank you.

Not a safety issue, but a extremely frustrating and widespread issue. Fm radio signal issues. Fm radio cuts in and out. I found a forum with dozens of other owners who had the same issue. Radio works fine for xm/sirius and am. Seeking through fm stations, the radio doesn't find any signals strong enough to stop on. I'm in an area with strong fm stations and have never had issues on other radios in any of my vehicles.
I driving getting ready to turn the corner and my Jeep just dies . The radio and everything stays on but I less power steering and brakes are hard to push and no gas. If I put it in park and try to restart it's does start without a problem . . It has done this a couples times before. . There was a time a couple months ago when I was sitting at a stop light went to go and couldn't . . And then one other time 2 weeks ago also trying to turn a corner (it's all at random when it happens no warning ) there are no warning lights on.
The lug nuts on the vehicle were swollen and apparently it's a known issue with Jeep I had to pay money out my own pocket to buy new lug nuts to rotate my tires which cost over $200 and when I contacted Jeep via email they said they were going to diagnose the problem and reach back to me it's been over a year now and havent heard from them I contacted them 3 more times and no response. Now I have an issue with my bluetooth being connected to my phone it keeps kicking my phone out I did a reset and hasn't worked and Jeep dealership is telling me its $135 to fix which I refuse if there is a known problem with Jeep and the radios that should be on recall as well. I have to re-pair my phone everytime I get back into my car. The bluetooth hasn't been working since may 2019 and my lug nuts had to be replaced last year August 2018. I bought this car in 2015 and the dealership told me I had 5 year warranty come to find out I had one year remaining because it started in 2011 when the car was made. Customer service sucks more and more with these dealerships not knowing a thing ! they just tell me they dont kno anything about this or that that I complain about. Ridiculous.
My complaint is about a danger caused by a u-connect (uc) update notice for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that, until completed, the Jeep's safety features including 911 were unavailable. A programming glitch wouldn't allow an update time to be chosen. The notice continued to block the screen making it unusable. On 10-3-19, an hr into a 5 hr trip, a notice on the screen said: urgent updated needs to be scheduled/completed w/in 24 hours but, in meantime, "essential services" like 911 & bluetooth (& couple others) aren't available. I tried to set a time but the original screen kept popping back up. I could not clear the notice from the screen and it blocked being able to use any of the screen tabs. Couldn't even use uc's call-assist button on rearview mirror. In the glove box I found an actual # for uc & called directly. The woman, helen, said there'd been a "glitch" in the program, that I was "out of luck," she was sorry for the inconvenience, that she had other customers traveling & in similar predicament. Initially she suggested I pulled off the hwy to attempt a system reset (after which the hazard lights wouldn't shut off until an extra long hold of the hazard button). When the reset didn't work, she advised that when we get to our destination (unless we felt unsafe we should stop our trip then) to be out of the car for at least an hour, to pick an update time w/o any zeros (apparently that was the "glitch") like 11:17. The car had to be locked in a certain pattern to put it in "sleep" mode. The actual keys had to be at least 25 feet away from the vehicle. If this all didn't work we'd have to find a dealer but it did work overnight. So we drove for 4 hours w/o navigation, bluetooth or 911. Nor did we have radio access to hear traffic or weather reports along our route. It was very unsettling to be driving in the dark without any of the Jeep's computer available.

Took our Jeep to the dealership after the key fob kept getting stuck in the ignition and wouldn't release. They said it was the win module that needs to be replaced and the key would have to be reprogrammed for that win module! well, since then, we've noticed that when we are able to get the key out (from hitting above the ignition to get it to release, or waiting an hour for it to eject on it's own) the radio will keep playing, so we have to turn it off, all of the dash lights stay on, it still dings if the door is open and acts like the key is in it after being removed. Now we're running into more issues while we're driving where it starts glitching and the computer makes all kinds of terrible scary sounds and has actually powered down on us! now the battery is dead and won't start even with a jump! most issues started out while in park and just trying to remove key fob, that lasted a few months and it still drove fine. Unfortunately, the issues have continually gotten worse and I'm afraid to drive it with my family since it powered down while driving down the street!.

All of the dash lights up, flashes/flutter/flickers, radio shuts off, hvac system shuts off, but engine still runs. This only happens when the car is on, however it can happen while in motion or in park. . But I do not see a pattern beyond that (like when it rains or is humid). I have tried to make it happen by juggling my ignition because I know that is a thing, but that never initiates the problem.

I have a service shifter light coming on constantly as well as some random radio station changes. It all started after last recall was fixed. I love my Jeep but am so frustrated.

The touch screen radio went out. Because of this, when the seat warmers come on via remote start, they cannot be shut off, so the seat gets extremely hot. Also, it will act like it's starting back up, and the back up camera will come on even while driving forward. It keeps shutting down and coming back on to where it says "Jeep" then it will shut off again.

Uconnect on stereo system freezes up. When it does this the temperature controls, phone, radio, navigation system and everything it controls stops working. The vehicle can be stationary or moving and it just stops working, have to pull over and turn vehicle off and wait for at least 5 minutes for it to come back on.

Due to issues with radio's core software, the display of the car which control all vital functions of the car including temperature control goes inaccessible while car is in motion. It is accessible only when car comes to a complete stop and software is allowed to reboot which takes more than 20 minutes. This is so against the safety because the main core controlling unit of the car is of no use due to this problem. There is no definite solution and answer by the dealership, service branch, unconnect customer care and star ticket system. The car got into this issue within 24 hours of leasing it and is a brand new 2019 model.
My 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been submitted to the dealership for a faulty sos feature. The sos does not connect to emergency services and does not shut off. The system stays engaged until a fuse is pulled in the battery compartment under the front passenger seat. Multiple submissions and "star tickets" have not produced correction and star tickets cancelled multiple times by the oem. There are service bulletins, but nothing is resolving this. Oem not taking this as a serious safety issue. If something should occur, the vehicle's safety response service will not be able to do anything for occupants of the vehicle. It is very upsetting that the oem has not fixed a software issue and will not allow the dealership to replace the radio with one that actually provides the proper connection to emergency services. This is a defect in the product that the oem has had over 18 months to fix since this vehicle was manufactured.
Seats - drivers seat - seat controls brok away from the seat. Seat control trim replaced, seat frame replaced, problem has returned again. Radio - screen goes black randomly. Radio replaced 2 times and module once these are over various dates an currently an issue again. Will select current date.
I purchased the vehicle in November 2017 and June 2018 the radio started shutting down every 30 seconds. The Jeep dealer had it for 1 week trying to figure out the issue. It was never quite the same after they fixed it with a patch but I lived with it. December 2018 my navigation stopped working along with my sirius radio. Intermittent restarts, jammed screens and locked bright blue screens also occurred. I was unable to use my phone or any other controls located in that screen. This includes my back camera and audible sensor. Today is March 3, 2019 and the dealer has had my car since January 9, 2018. They received 1 replacement radio, but it didn't work. They apparently tried other things that Chrysler tech told them to and that didn't work. They have ordered another radio, but the eta of shipping keeps getting pushed back further and further. The new date is March 8th of 2018, and I will guarantee the radio will not come in then either. I am making payments and paying insurance on a car that I don't even have. I am also trapped in a lease with no way to get out of it and get another car that works. This is far past unacceptable at this point!.
Our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland has started cutting off while in drive, without warning. There are no indicator lights on and the radio continues to play as normal. The only way you know the vehicle is off is by looking at the rpm display now at zero or because you can no longer use the power steering. After putting the vehicle in park and re-pushing the start button, the vehicle starts up as normal. This issue has happened on five (5) occasions and is the scariest thing ever!! after the first time this happened, we took the vehicle to the dealership to be told there weren't any codes coming up to signify that there was a problem with the vehicle and a tune up was suggested. We went months without the issue occurring, but it has started happening again. We've encountered this issue on city streets and once while taking the off ramp on the highway.

Navigation system displays incorrect information. Map is 2012 for a 06/13 build on a 2014 vehicle. Also, radio software cannot be updated, which is needed for map update. Jeep claims neither is a defect or fraud. Navigation displays incorrect roads (names, locations), speed limits, and intersection/junction information. Huge potential for accidents. Problem when in motion.
Will push to start while my foot on brake and it will not start. Lights radio all interior will turn on but engine will not start . It happens at first attempt in the morning and it will happen at all hours of the day. It could be off for 15 minutes to 5 hours and it will stall the same. Its parked in garage, but its the same if I leave outdoors. This has become an every day thing for the last 3 or 4 months.
My 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo will not start. The battery is new. Lights come on, radio comes on, lights do not dim, but Jeep will not start. (not even click to indicate starter).

Over-the-air software update. Accepted the update one time. Update occurs almost daily. While updating the infotainment display only shows progress bar (15-20 minutes) while driving. After update download complete the screen never changes back to original intended functions during ignition cycle. Next ignition cycle the screen appears normal until update occurs again, but functionality is very slow to respond or does not respond to "touch" requests for climate controls, navigation, radio, etc. When reversing, the back-up camera image screen has a long delay of 5 seconds or more. Backing maneuver usually near completion when image finally appears. Camera image is not available during the update or after update complete and not until next ignition cycle. This is a safety issue. Navigation system rarely functions when the screen is available.
The fobik when inserted does not turn vehicle on (acts like vehicle battery is dead) but when key is removed and reinstalled it will then crank. Then other times it cranks but is like it's in off position (inside lights nor radio comes on) also, after acting up the airbag light stays on without flashing or going off. Windshield wipers "motor" doesn't function properly (works but stops in from of drivers window area) until it's put on high speed. These issues occur before and after vehicle is started. Both areas of city street and highway.
Over the last year I have had my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for service with the dealership I purchased it from for various things from standard oil change/tire rotation to a very serious issue that involved the Jeep shutting down or stalling while braking. This happens are various time for reasons that no one can seem to resolve. The dealership service department has not made one repair to the vehicle each time I bring it in because it does not show a code & they cannot recreate the problem, so they give me nonsense reason for it happening, the latest being short a quart of oil. Well needless to say, they topped off the oil & guess what, the Jeep stalled the next day while exiting the freeway. I cannot express enough how scary it is to be driving and have your vehicle shut down as you have no idea it has done this until you try to steer as you no longer have power steering. Lights are still on; radio is still playing but you have no power to your driving abilities. I have expressed to the service department with 2 service technicians (nick & jim) and the service manager (ken) and nothing has been done. I have shared with them the reviews and possible fixes I have found online but they refuse to even look at those items because there is no code indicating that is the problem. I have a car payment for a vehicle that I don't feel safe driving because I don't know when it might shut down again & no one at ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram franklin will do anything to help me.
Unconnect system in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland turns off and on by itself ever 60 seconds whether you are driving or stationary. I believe it started this morning or last night. You cannot use bluetooth, the heat or the radio. I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle less than 1 month ago and they said I was the 6th report today and the vehicles in their lot were doing it as well. They stated that the unconnect system might have been hacked.
2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo shuts off while driving. First noticed about a month after driving it. Approx. Mileage about 5,000 on initial complaint; current mileage about 23,000. Vehicle will beep at you and dash will state "vehicle not in park". First time it occurred at night and I lost all exterior lights. Other times when engine shuts off it keeps radio and interior dash lights on. Multiple dealerships state that they cannot recreate the issue and that no codes are being stored. Chrysler hooked up a data recorder to the vehicle and stated nothing out of the ordinary showed up once it happened. Was also told that if vehicle lost all power during the incident, that the data recorder would not reflect those conditions. The company will not replace, repair, or buy back without a diagnosis. Huge safety concern for not only the passengers and driver, but also others on the road. If on a busy street it shuts off with no lights, there will be greater risk of causing an accident at speed. According to dealership reps, looked into push button controller and receiver, auto start/stop feature, key fobs, and engine fuel system. All open recalls have been performed on my Jeep. All recommended factory maintenance has been performed at the dealership. This is not the only issue recorded, but is the most serious due to life safety concerns.
