When attempting to start the (parked) car, when the key is turned everything turns on (radio, dashboard lights, seats ect) like it normally would start but the engine doesn't turn over or crank at all. . . When all the other lights go off the engine and oil light remain on. No clicking sound whatsoever, but I believe you can hear the fuel pump kick in. When the key is turned to the off position after it won't start, the accessories will occasionally stay on (such as the the seat when it has the easy entry option selected will stay in the driving position). Nothing seems to make it start. Jumping the battery does nothing. Putting it in neutral to start doesn't do anything. It's usually just a matter of time before it decides to start again. . . Sometimes hours, sometimes days. When taken to the dealership they can never diagnose the issue because they are unable to duplicate the issue. For whatever reason, possibly just a coincidence, replacing the battery in the key fob seems to delay the issue from happening again for a few months. Although this may not seem like a straight forward safety issue, the problem has left me stranded at a gas station in the middle of winter while being 8-1/2 months pregnant and most recently left me stranded with my 8 month old baby. I should also note that this problem never occurred until some time after the last recall was resolved.

My car turns off while driving differnt times of the day could be in the morning or could be during the day. It just shuts off with no sign the lights are on in the front the radio is still on its happened several times. Some times does not want to start randomly. . . This is my 3rd time taking it into the dealer with this same issue and they keep saying nothing is wrong with it. This last time I was on the freeway and it just shut off. I just want them to repair it. The fist time I took it in I want to say I was under the warranty miles around 34 or 36000 I am going to confirm with the dealer.

The touch screen panel for my radio goes out and does not allow the radio to play while driving and when first started. Sometimes my bluetooth doesn't connect at all. Three months after my warranty expired the sirius radio stopped working and I was forced to cancel my subscription. The stations came up but nothing would come out of the speakers when I would select the buttons. Took it to the dealership and they told me since my warranty had just expired they would not cover the cost and I would have to pay $600 to get a new radio if I really wanted the satellite radio. They said the antenna for the satellite radio had burnt out. My car was barely 3 1/2 years old at that time. Sometimes when I connect my phone it doesn't allow me to switch songs unless I change it through my phone. The whole radio, bluetooth, media sections on my touch screen have glitches.

I purchased my used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee from jt's Chrysler & Jeep in lexington, SC on may 27th, 2017. Sometime a few weeks later in June, we started having issues with our radio and touch screen panel. It did an automatic update by itself (screen said to keep vehicle running for 15 mins to complete) and now it will not save any presets that we try and save to it. The volume to the radio works fine some days, other days, we cannot get the volume to work on the radio at all. . . Or worse, sometimes it will let us turn the volume up some and then we cannot get it to turn back down (causing issues when I need to hear things outside of the vehicle) until we power the ignition down. It has affected the navigation and speakers to some degree already and we have taken it back to the dealership twice to have it looked at with no resolution. They have told us they tried a "flash update" but it still has not helped. We constantly get an error message stating "vehicle phone needs service". I did some research after our last service appointment and realized there was a recall on the radio's for this model and year Jeep for the same issues we are having but, I do not see our VIN # listed in the recall. I am looking for someone to shed some light if possible on how we can go about getting this resolved. Thank you!.
While driving, the vehicle engine shuts off and the steering wheel locks up. Having a hemi v8 in the front makes it very difficult to steer! I have no idea when the vehicle will stall but ive ended up at a stop sign and in the middle of an intersection twice. A bit scared as to when this will happen again. The radio and headlights stay on when this happens. Ive found that putting the vehicle in neutral and pressing the start button restarts the SUV.

I have huge problems with the key-less ignition and the engine not turning off in two circumstances. First, the engine is very quite and the radio does not turn off when the car is turned off. If you miss the shut off button the car continues to run even when you leave with the key. There is no warning when you leave the still running car with the key. You come back hours later and the car is still running. Second, the electronic shifter is so inaccurate that it is very easy to try to put it in park and leave it just short and in reverse. The Jeep won't turn off while it is still in gear, but it is so quiet that it is easy to miss that it is still running (particularly if you did not immediately get out of the car). When you take your foot off the brake the car starts to roll. Very dangerous. Jeep's response is to put the parking brake on, but who does that anymore if you are not on a hill.
I was driving along on the highway about 65 mph and all of a sudden the engine light oil light and the 23. Electronic throttle control (etc) warning light all came on in that order and the engine just died. . No safe place to park and no power steering but was able to get it in a driveway off the road. . It would crank but not turn over. . Had to have it towed home. . Called Chrysler to see if it had any recalls and they said there were none. . Then had it scanned read p0340 camshaft sensor had that replaced still did not work. . The mechanic called two days later and said that it was the tipm module and had it towed over to the dealership. . He said he had to dig to find the recall and that my Jeep was manufactured in feburary 2010 and it falls into the recall. . This is not the first time I have had electrical issues such as the radio shutting down and restarting for no reason the remote having new batteries and not unlocking the vehicle. .

Chrysler has a recall for my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the ignition switch p57/NHTSA 14v-567. The part is not available to repair my vehicle and they do not have an estimated or actual date this part will be in. Chrysler refuses to accommodate the customers with a loaner vehicle. Why is Chrysler not accountable for my car troubles after the recall (which I never received a recall notice)? the government fined Chrysler 70 million dollars and will fine additional monies if the vehicles are not repaired. Why am I suffering and not being accommodated with a working vehicle when the billion dollar industry (Chrysler) has a mishap? my experience: - when vehicle ignition is turned off it only goes ½ the way, the key fob sticks and will not exit. This causes the radio clock light and the gear shift panel to stay lit, which in turn drains the battery. (had to purchase a jump start kit $70. 00 + tax) for when the battery is dead. -since, the key will not exit the ignition I must leave my work area at least twice a day (sometimes more) to check, if the key fob will come out. Once it took 11 hours before key would exit, after running the engine for over 3 hours. I am in jeopardy of losing my livelihood if this issue continues for much longer. It has been going on for months. The recall started November, 2014. How long will I suffer, because I don’t have money to purchase a different vehicle and why does this always affect the most unfortunate individuals like me. -there is a 90% chance that my vehicle will be stolen (since key is left in the ignition). I work in durham, nc on the week-end; I pray that I will be able to get back to raleigh if this happens. I cry most nights in fear of losing my jobs. Please, help me!!!!!!.

3/28/2015 (20,924 miles): this is the second time my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee has stalled when I put it in reverse after starting. I started the Jeep and put it in reverse and I began to back out of a parking space and it stalled. However, when I looked at the display showed that the Jeep was in park, however the shift lever was still in reverse, and the radio was still on like the car electronics were on. I moved the shift lever back into park. I pushed the start/stop button but I could not get the vehicle instruments or radio to shut off. I tried several attempts to start the vehicle, however it just clicked once and the starter did not engage. While my foot was on the brake, I put the gear shift in reverse and then back into park. I again tried to push the start/stop button and this time it just kept cranking but failed to start. The vehicle started to roll while the dash displayed p and I was in a level parking lot. When I stepped on the brakes they were hard to press. I used my phone to call moss bros service and they transferred me to the moss motors riverside, CA service center. I explained my situation but all service advisors were busy. I waited on the line for over 11 minutes and someone came back on the line and told me that someone would call me back. See call log from phone records below. I explained to the operator that if I could not get the vehicle to turn off that the battery would eventually go dead. After waiting on hold all this time I attempted to push the start/stop button one more time and this time all controls seem to shut off. I pushed the start/stop button again and the vehicle did start this time. (datetimephone #destinationminutes used / 03/28/157:33 am855-777-2770toll free call,11. 0.
On 3 separate occasions in the last two weeks my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has rolled unexpectedly once the transmission has been put into park and the engine turned off. The first time it happened, I drove into a sloped driveway. I put the car into park, turned off the car, and sat in the driver's seat to compose an e-mail. My foot continued to be on the brake. A minute or so later, when I completed my task, I opened the door and began to get out, having not put on the emergency brake. As it was a gentle slope, I did not notice the car beginning to roll immediately, but once outside the car I realized it was rolling backwards. I turned and got back into the car and applied the emergency brake, almost falling in the process. At the time I thought that I might have put the car into neutral rather than park, as the gear shift is electronic, and is slightly different in feel from older transmissions. Believing that it was my error, I did nothing about this. Then, over this past weekend it happened again, and I wrote to Jeep via their owner portal, to ensure that it was reported. On December 3rd, I scheduled a service for Friday December 5th. Yesterday, December 4th, I took the car to a car wash. The attendant was doing detail work, and after taking it through the wash, he parked it. I walked toward the car, and he got out of the car once he had put it into park and turned it off. He exited just as I got to the front driver's side corner. The car began to roll again, and was on a slope. Had the attendant not jumped back into the car and applied the brake, both of us would have been pinned in place, me between the door and a large cement planter, and he between the door and the interior. I quickly videotaped the attendant briefly recounting the story, and obtained his contact information, as well. The Jeep is now at the dealership.
The car does not start, the ignition keeps turning over but the engine does not start, then it does not turn off so you have to sit and wait for all the lights on the panel and the radio to go off before trying to start again. If I press the start button before everything shuts down, the ignition stays on but refuses to start the engine. The dealership does not have a clue why this is happening. I know it's not only my car because I have been at the service department with others who have the same problem, there has to be a reason for this, someone at Jeep knows (I am sure).
I really need your help. In April of 2014 I bought a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee summit edition for $60,000. I was thrilled to have finally owned my dream car since 1997! I started having issues with the car in August. . . And when I say issues, I don't mean the radio blitzing out. The car turned off in the middle of a 4 way intersection and wouldn't restart for 3-4 attempts!!!! terrified I took it to the dealership who said it registered some check engine light codes but they couldn't find why it did that. They turned the light off and had me pick the car up. After repeating the same thing, about 8-10 more times the car just shutting off and going back into the shop a second and third time they now said OH we figured out what the problem was and its fixed. I was thrilled for this to be over! a couple weeks later I was driving on the freeway going 65 mph with no cars around me or insight. All of the sudden the car dashboard said brake!!! and the car applied the abs brakes and abruptly slowed the car down to 40 mph!!!! I was so scared at that point, to top it off the car again shut off and the check engine light back on. I took the car to the dealership for the 4th time where they now have put me in a rental for 40 days. This time I was told my car registered 57 codes but they were not able to fix or diagnose the problem. I expressed my concern when I was asked to pick the car up. I don't feel safe in that car and I have lost faith in that vehicle. I asked that they buy the car back since it legally falls under the lemon law and they refused. They left me no choice but to hire a lemon law attorney. I now have lost faith in Jeep/Chrysler for the way they are handling this. They would rather put myself and others in harms way than to do the right thing. Kelly.
The instrument cluster in the dash fails, all warning lights are on, power windows don't work, auto lights don't work, half of ac doesn't work, radio doesn't work, cruise control doesn't work.

While driving down the road, the rpm started floating and the Jeep started hesitating like it was out of gas. It was happening every once in awhile, now it's constantly and it's getting horrible gas mileage. Here recently, the interior lights on the ac/heat part have went out and the time part on the radio started lighting up like a heater and is extremely hot but the radio still plays.

Started 2014 Jeep gc and centre evic screen failed to turn on. Contacted Chrysler 1-800 number and they had no record of known issues. Searched internet and apparently there are known issues. Went to Jeep dealer and they 'had no idea' . . . Have only had vehicle 2 weeks ! have booked in vehicle with dealership. So much depends in having that radio/control unit functioning.
The Jeep has the 5. 7l hemi v8, and stalls at traffic lights, stop signs, or even by driving down the street. I have had stalling issues now for about four months. Most of the time it happens when stopped at a light, but it has stalled driving about 35 mph down a street as well. The engine simply cuts out. Radio and all other electronics seem to work, but the engine cuts out and has to be restarted.
Window dropped while vehicle was parked and would no longer roll up. . . . Reefed it up and taped it. . . . . Took to Jeep dealership. . . . . Total cost to repair is $650. 00. . . . . Same problem happened 4 years ago, but vehicle was under warranty at that time. I guess this is a common problem with Grand Cherokee laredo Jeeps. Mine is a 2004. A recall should be made on this plastic clip fault!!!!!.

Heater or car radio overheated and melted tape in radio. This was the fourth occurrence and now radio will no longer play tapes or can be used for xm radio. Talked to service manager at dealership and this has been an ongoing problem.
Noticed that the head lights would automatically come on while the car was in park and shut off (headlight switch on auto) the radio controls on the steering wheel would work once in awhile the same for the cruise controls plus the horn does not work at all know did work when I bought it in April 06. I noticed when I played with the tilt steering something is would work some wouldn't. I believe that this might affect the airbag from deploying if in a wreck.

: the contact stated while driving 35 mph through an intersection on normal road conditions, the engine stalled and could not be restarted. There were no warning lights prior to the incident. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, who diagnosed a fuel pump and fuel injection pump failure, both were replaced. After this incident, the vehicle presented transmission problems. The contact noticed a loss of power while driving 65 mph on a highway. Intermittently, the transmission made noise when shifted to second gear. The vehicle had been taken to the dealership 20 times, however no error codes identified the defect. In one of the incidents, the yellow malfunction light illuminated and the dealership identified the defect as the computer control module and the driver shaft, both were replaced, however the transmission problem persisted. The dealership determined the vehicle could not be repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who recommended to take the vehicle to a different dealership. The vehicle was not downshifting when going up hills and it would get stuck in second or third gear. The a/c and blower motor were inoperative, the dealer could not duplicate the consumers concern. The key became stuck in the ignition. All the dashboard lights were flashing, the cd player was broke. The brakes and rotors vibrated. The starter was replaced. The driveshaft and heater were replaced. The seats would not move back. The seat belts did not retract as they should. Updated 01/17/07. Updated.
Concern regarding safety of brakes, shake very noticeably when brakes applied. Replaced front rotors and calipers. There was continuing unresolved brake problems. . Read more...

I have had the following failures: fuel guage/ brakes (3) times/engine mount, and water pump, brought the vehicle in (5) times before they fixed the transmission, rear windshield wipers quit working, and then restarted. Also cd player died. Is this a lemon?.
While driving at 40 mph, and upon pressing down on brake, vehicle shaks very hard, rotors appear to be very worn, vehicle has been taken to dealer approximately 5 times already. Consumer also stated there is a ticking noise from engine when starting up,steering damper and drag link assembly were loose, transmission shifts hard into reverse, right rear turn signal bulb was replaced, vehicle began to overheat, right side mirror was cracked, speaker was inoperative, the trim on the door panel was loose, exhaust system was loud, parking brake needed to be adjusted, passenger side seat belt was inoperative, passenger wiper blade was not cleaning the window, keyless entry remote was inoperative.
The vehicle was experiencing sudden throttling when traveling at about 35 mph. Consumer was informed that this was dangerous by a mechanic, but the cause was undetermined. When turning the air conditioner or heater it makes the engine throttle up and stay at accelerated speed. When the consumer takes his foot of the gas pedal the vehicle slows down until you turn on the heat or air. The consumer stated that when you start from a stopped position with the fan on, after you attained the speed you want and take your foot off the acceleratorthe speed and rpm will stay the same and will not slow down until the brakes are applied. The consumer stated that he had to turn the fan off at a complete stop in neutral to get the vehicle to function properly. Under heavy braking the brakes had a bad pulsation which caused the abs light to come on. Radio and speakers needed to be replaced.
Cd player failed.

Door trim is coming off on the driver side doors.
