Driving down interstate going 78mph in hybrid mode and the car shuts off and I was able to get over to the side of the road since traffic wasn't bad at the time. Restarted the car and went on my way with no other issues until last week. Driving down the interstate again in hybrid mode and the "service hybrid " light starts flashing and so I changed to all gas for the remainder of the trip. Took it to the dealer yesterday and they had no answers other then they updated the software. We shall see but how it works but I have my doubts that it wont cut off again or have issues. Only has 14k miles on it when this stuff happened.

The vehicle is a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV. While driving in heavy traffic on a 45 mph road, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion, with the dash lighting up with a large "service hybrid system" warning. After several seconds of no response, with traffic trying to work its way around my stalled SUV, the vehicle began to move again, albeit very slowly, just enough to limp it to a side street. After another 30 seconds or so, the problem cleared itself and the vehicle returned to a normal state of propulsion. I took the car to the dealer where I left it for more than a week. Apparently this is a known issue, and a code appeared (b273c-00, digital crash input), but they were not able to replicate the issue while they had the vehicle and so they just reset the code. The automaker is also aware of this problem, but doesn't deem it severe enough to issue a warning to customers or provide alternative transportation while a fix is developed. The dealer's advice is to let them know when it happens again. At this point, I don't feel the vehicle is safe to drive, and it will remain parked until a fix is available.
Last week I was driving 70mph on the highway when suddenly I got the red wrench icon with the message "service hybrid electrical system" on the dashboard. After about 7 seconds I then got a "put foot on brake and press start" message on the screen - while still going 70mph on the highway. At that point the car died. I had no power - the accelerator pedal did nothing. Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder and stop. Then I did what it said and pressed the brake + start button. The car came back to life, but I didn't have the full hybrid system - I only had gas - the car was not using any electrical power as the battery level remained constant and did not drop as I drove. I continued for another 20 minutes where I stopped for lunch. When I returned to the car it started up normally and continued to run normally after that. This is the 3rd of 4th time the red wrench icon with the service hybrid system warning coming up, but on the previous times the message went away after about 5 seconds and the car drove normally. This is the only time that it caused the car to completely die on my while on the highway. Apparently, this has been happening to a * of people after Jeep issued a software update to address the 95b recall last year. Many owners are now afraid to drive their Jeep 4xe for fear of it suddenly dying on the highway at high speeds.

Transmission will "buck" unexpectedly when slowing to a stop. This causes a violent and unpredictable lunge forward. This has been reported and inspected by the dealer multiple times with the assessment just being "that's an 8 speed transmission for ya". There is no warning of it happening, nor is an event stored within the vehicle ecu.

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep cherokee. The contact stated that occasionally while driving at slow speeds, the transmission slipped into park(p), causing the vehicle to jerk to an unintended stop. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? when driving down a busy road, the car completely stalled with loss of power steering, unable to accelerate or brake, power completely lost in car with all safety lights illuminated on the dashboard. Eventually brakes returned, able to stop car. Unable to restart and loss of power for windows. After several attempts, restarted car with warning lights still present- moved to side of road. Currently at dealer for inspection- stated that problem was "digital crash input code failure" and that there is not a fix for this at this time. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? car stalled with complete loss of control in the middle of traffic, while accelerating at approximately 15-25 mph. This could have caused an accident, but luckily did not. However, car was stalled in traffic for about 30 mins and unable to move car at all- blocking traffic on busy street. If happened on highway, could have been much worse and also had the potential to cause an accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the problem was confirmed by dealer, and said that there is "no fix". According to them, all recalls have been fixed in this vehicle prior to incident and should have fixed this problem by replacing the battery. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? vehicle has been inspected by both dealership service and Chrysler/ stellantis engineers. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there was 1 warning light message about "ev system hybrid control" needs service, but disappeared after 30 seconds and this appeared about 1 week prior to incident.
Service shifter message keeps showing every-time I turn on the vehicle. Eventually it just stays on. Took vehicle in for service and when dealer was installing new shifter, it shorted out other components. Jeep still hasn’t found a permanent fix.

Within days after completing the 95b recall (24v-720) on my Grand Cherokee 4xe phev , the vehicle would periodically flash an error message saying ”service hybrid system” or something to that effect. It would illuminate for just a few seconds. On may 21, I took the vehicle back to the dealership (brigham-gill, natick, MA). They read several codes and after conferring with Jeep, said the vehicle is unsafe to drive. It has remained there parked in their backlot as of July 15. The dealership is awaiting guidance from Jeep and informed me they have several others in the same situation. So there were few issues here 1) if I hadn’t returned to the dealership to ask about these brief flashing messages, I would not have known that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. These messages never stayed illuminated for more than a few seconds, and there is no residual “check engine” light. 2) it is incorrect to say that the 95b recall addressed the issue of the failing batteries if it renders the vehicle in operable. 3) the 95b recall patch software was released in January 2025. I find it hard to believe that as of mid July they’ve been unable to find out why it doesn’t work in all the vehicles as intended. This leads me to question the thoroughness of the regression testing before it was released.
Once you start driving after letting the vehicle sit the transmission will “slip” multiple times jerking the car and everyone in it. Occurs every day around 4 pm and various times.
Below is the letter I sent to stellantis. I am writing to file an urgent and formal complaint regarding ongoing, severe safety and functionality issues with my Jeep 4xe , leased through stellantis financial. These issues have not only rendered the vehicle unreliable, but they have also endangered my life, the lives of my children, and the public-particularly as I work in an elementary school setting where safety is paramount. Most alarmingly, my Jeep 4xe recently reversed on its own at an accelerated speed without input, and would not stop until I prompted the brakes repeatedly. Had a child or pedestrian been behind the vehicle, the incident could've resulted in severe injury or death. As a parent and educator, this experience was traumatizing and has left me fearful of operating the vehicle in any public or residential space. Additionally, my vehicle frequently enters "turtle mode" (reduced power mode) without warning, significantly increasing my risk of being rear- ended in traffic. This unpredictability is unacceptable for any vehicle-especially one marked as a safe, family-friendly hybrid. These critical safety failures began shortly after the recall involving the vehicle's battery. Since then I've experienced: *multiple simultaneous sensor malfunctions *reduced driving speeds and performance *inability to charge the vehicle on a professionally installed level 2 charger *recurring shop visits without permanent resolution while earlier issues were inconvenient, they pale in comparison to the dangerous and erratic behavior of the vehicle now. Despite repeated attempts by service technicians to address these problems, each "fix" is followed by a new or recurring issue. This pattern shows that the vehicle is fundamentally flawed and no longer safe to operate.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer. The contact stated while driving at approximately 80 mph the vehicle lost forward momentum and stalled. The contact stated that the "shift to park and restart" warning had illuminated. The contact coasted off of the roadway and shifted the vehicle to park (p). The contact was able restart the vehicle and continued on to his destination. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired, however the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled but a different warning illuminated, the warning was "acc disabled - a steering wheel symbol and an exclamation point. The contact was able to restart the vehicle but as he was driving the vehicle started losing forward momentum. The contact stated that vehicle had apparently gone into a "limp mode," the contact applied the accelerator pedal and was unable to accelerate beyond 15 mph. The contact took the vehicle to a different dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and saw the contact information for the NHTSA safety hot line. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Multiple warnings with the service hybrid system alert coming on the dash. Code b273c-00 was confirmed by the technician at the napleton Jeep service department. Vehicle can shut off at any time at any speed and there is no resolution at this time to fix the issue. When accelerating over uneven surfaces, the vehicle bucks back and forth violently. This concern was verified with the technician at napleton Jeep. The shop foreman contacted Chrysler zone engineering and confirmed that they are aware of this issue but there is no current resolution for this issue. This is highly dangerous when pulling out into traffic.
After dealer installed recall 24v-720 on 1/15/2025, I started seeing red wrench light and warning to service hybrid system a few times each month. The warnings only flashed for a few seconds and disappeared - no service engine light. Also, the vehicle failed to charge about half the time. In early may, I was driving (in hybrid mode) about 45 miles per hour, and the red wrench light and warning to service hybrid system flashed and disappeared. The car would not accelerate! I drifted to a safe spot, turned off the car, and restarted and now could accelerate. I was lucky! I brought the vehicle to Jeep on may 19, 2025. It was there for about 10 days and they found nothing - not able to reproduce and no errors logged, etc. They created a star case (#1020705742) and still no solution. This is exactly recall 25v-576. The vehicle always charges now even though Jeep says they only cleared other errors. I brought the vehicle to Jeep on September 10 and they didn't see any saved errors. No updates to star case. I continue to see the red wrench light and warning to service hybrid system every week or so. But, have only lost power once. I'm afraid to drive the vehicle - always looking for a place to safely stop. How can a vehicle lose power and not log a service engine error! I need a fix! I looked at selling the vehicle but it has lost a lot of value likely due to all the recalls. I believe the battery has issues and should be replaced. Recall 24v-720 only installed software to watch the battery. However, nothing is ever logged.
I am a victim of sua (sudden unintended acceleration. I entered my driveway and had my foot on the brake petal. Before I could shift into park, the vehicle revved to a high rpm and then took off like a rocket. Brakes were initially hard to press and then the petal went to the floor, and I lost the brakes. This all happened very quickly and took me by surprise. I crashed through a double cyclone gate, closed garage door, back of the garage, double fence in back of garage, neighbors jacuzie and shed, hit the side of another neighbor's house and ac unit. It seemed that the power train electronics malfunctioned and caused all of this. Progressive insurance took procession of the vehicle and declared it a total loss.
Issue #1: the vehicle exhibits substantial cabin vibration, particularly affecting the steering wheel. This necessitates maintaining a firm grip on the wheel when operating at speeds of 30 mph and above. The vibration intensity escalates in direct proportion to the vehicle's velocity. It has been reported that this vehicle model has documented issues with rear drive shaft bushing failure, which may contribute to excessive play and vibration. Issue #2: the interior door trim applique has delaminated and broken. This issue has been previously reported in service bulletin 23-001-19 rev. B, group: 23-body, dated 8/10/2019, for a different Jeep model.

While the vehicle is in operation, and without warning, it loses all motive power and coasts to a stop. A warning message is displayed on dash: “service hybrid electric vehicle system. ” the vehicle must be turned off then back on before motive power is restored. This is an extreme safety issue, if it were to occur at highway speeds amidst traffic, the likelihood of serious accident is high. Jeep dealer service says this is a known issue with many Jeep 4xe vehicles right now and no fix is known. This event has reoccurred more than 4 times. The most recent was 5/9/25.
My car was showing a "service hybrid system" warning light in the months of April and may 2025 intermittantly along with a slight loss of power. I took it to the dealership and was told its a software issue but it's fine. Stellantis is aware of this issue but there is no fix. I brought it back a week later with the same concerns and reading the document the dealership gave me - the 95b recall fix apparently crashed communication modules with my orc. I expressed safety concerns. The dealership once again cleared codes and told me it was safe to drive. One week later on may 8, 2025, I was driving home from work. Without warning, the car locked up and went limp in the middle of the road. I went from 35mph to 0mph without seconds. I luckily was not rear ended. The dealership opened up another case with star. I have since gotten rid of the car due to continuous recalls and issues. I did not feel safe in this car and I feared for myself as well as others on the road. I am only taking the time to report this because there is no fix, my dealership repeadily gave the car back to me (in the notes, it was to be returned to me on 5/12 with no fix), and others are having the same issue.
When I was driving onto the high way my Jeep just cut off and I couldn’t accelerate only steer doing 45 mph with cars behind me and I saw on the dash a message “ shift to park. And then put into desired gear” well it was on drive d and I couldn’t put it in park until I completely stopped at this point I had a guy pull over next to me and called me jerkoff because he thought I was trying to brake check him , I explained to him what happened . Well once I did this I got moving , but it happened again latter on that day when I was almost home . I dont feel safe driving it anymore.

My 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 3. 6 eng vehicle is cutting off while driving, I was advise it the transmission shift gear transmission, which needs to be replaced and the can change the transmission assembly - remove & replace 3. 6l eng, awd on my vehicle. When I stop at the light the vehicle completely shuts off where I have to restart my vehicle. They said it was the 2nd battery which I changed and brought a new one. And the same day it still was cutting off. After several attempt in contacting them. I brought the vehicle into Chrysler Jeep Dodge of port jefferson, and after reviewing they said I need to replace the transmission . I was also advised that there was a TSB code that is now coming up # 21-00925 revision c - p0733. I'm very upset as they're telling it current over the extended warranty at this time at 60,000 miles. When I brought it in it was . . This should be a recall and they need to fix it I only had this vehicle for less then 5yrs brand new, when I started having these issues and can put me in a situation on the highway where I can get into a server accident. I strongly urger the recall as this is a known issue with this vehicle.
My vehicle currently has only 23,493 miles on it. During the last 6 years it has intermittently refused to shift out of the lowest gear when I started to drive off. I then have to come to a complete stop, shift out of gear and back into gear in order to drive off. This has probably happened about 10 or 12 times in the last 6 years. I cannot make this situation repeat. It happens only on its own. It is very scary when I am on a highway with other vehicles coming up behind me and I cannot accelerate and I have to quickly find somewhere to pull over and stop. Please help me and my family. I have an appointment in June with a Jeep dealer (earliest available for a transmission problem) to have it looked at. I have never seen any error codes displayed and therefore have no clue what the cause is.

Once a week or so, the vehicle will experience motive power loss while driving. Typically, it's for 3 or 4 seconds and is accompanied by a blinking red "service hybrid electric vehicle system" warning light on the dashboard. This is very dangerous because for those 3 or 4 seconds, the vehicle will not accelerate/maintain speed. I've had the vehicle at the dealership for the same reason multiple times. The dealership has tried to identify the root cause but so far has not been successful.
3 instances of complete loss of power, 1 while driving. Vehicle came to a hard stop as though I had slammed on the brakes. Dealer and Jeep have acknowledged the problem as a known issue. Jeep is saying it's safe to drive, but dealer agrees it is not and is not returning the vehicle to me. All dash lights came in during each instance and gave the error message "service now, hybrid system failure. " summary of the 3 instances below. It has been at the dealer since 5/8/2025. 3/29/25 approx 6pm I was stopped, and the error message came on and vehicle shut off. Attempted to restart approximately five times. Let’s sit for a few minutes, vehicle restarted and all error messages went away. 4/23/25 6:30pm driving at low speed, air messages came on vehicle abruptly stopped, narrowly avoided, getting rear ended, passengers complaint of neck pain. Engine turned on, all error messages immediately went away. 5/6/25 5:35pm error messages came on while driving, engine started, no impact to driving. Error messages went away almost immediately. Jeep s. T. A. R. Case was created.
Transmission needs fully replaced, certified technician said the see this all the time in these Jeeps. Dealership said they had to replace one at 56k miles, this car has 85k miles, well taken care of. Research shows this is a very common issue. Jeep needs to cover these transmissions and recall!.
When driving it will randomly shift into 4th gear very hard and stay in 4th until you turn it off. It will happen at any speed and be fine for months or do have the issues consistently for long period of time then stop. It happens with no pattern or related reasons.

Vehicle code: c1562-98 air pump control - air suspension compressor is overheating or there's a problem with the control system, leading to issues with adjusting the vehicle's height. With further inspection he found a leak in the air bag fittings. Vehicle power control module has caused vehicle to shutoff while driving on the highway. Air suspension and electrical issues continued after 60 days of attempted repairs.
Since it was brand new it likes to shift hard into reverse or drive from park. Sometimes it shifts with nothing going on like it should other times there is subtle thump into gear other times it's a harder thumb into gear. There is 2 or 3 levels of hard shift into gear. Valve body and output shift kit have already been replaced and it's still happening.
On three different occasions, the Jeep randomly turned off on its own. Each time I was stopped, so thankfully I was not injured. I brought it to two different dealerships, one in may 2025 and one in July 2025, and neither of them could fix it. The last dealership advised me not to drive the vehicle due to the safety implications of a stall during driving due to "the digital crash input issue". As a result, I sold my Jeep and bought another vehicle. The vehicle was still under warranty when I sold it.
I've had issues with this Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe randomly shutting down on the highway at speeds between 65-75 mph. The service engine and transmission lights come on and the vehicle itself dies out and will power on but will not start for about 10-15 minutes afterwards. This is the fourth time I've had the issue and the dealership can not pin point a reason/fix for the car suddenly stopping. This last time the power steering went out as well these issues have almost caused several accidents . The dealership just clears the codes after saying the can not replicate the problems I'm having and gives the car back. I've gotten to the point now after almost being rear ended trying to clear the vehicle that I no longer feel safe driving it not only for myself but the other drivers around me a car with a little over 20,000 miles should not be having these issues consistently.
Transmission system failed causing slipping when going into 3rd gear. Dealership inspected it and is telling me the output shaft has to be replaced. The check engine light came on when it started slipping.
I just bought this vehicle in February. Since then, about 4 times while driving when I came to a stop the car will not accelerate and the screen tells me to put car in “p” then shift into gear. One time I had to restart the car to put into gear. Then the car drives again.

A warning came on said, service shifter. The part alone is $1,600 I’m a widow and can’t afford this. Mechanic says it’s the electronic transmission module,it tells the transmission what gear to shift into. I read complaints that their Jeep will shift into n or other gears going down the highway. To me this is dangerous and hope you can help.
Unknown. Electronic stability control service light activated intermittently for a couple days along with the 4wd service light. After 2-3 days, the esc light remained lit. Twice when starting the vehicle, the 4wd low was activated without manually shifting gears, in which changed to normal within a minute later. Intermittently, when the vehicle braked to a stop and switched gears to reverse, the vehicle shuttered before continuing in reverse. Another incident while driving and coming to a stop at a traffic light, upon coming to a stop, the vehicle seemed to almost stall but reengage. The vehicle is at approximately 41,500 miles as of 4/1/2025. The vehicle was taken to a Dodge dealership in which report the transfer case needed repair. With under 50,000 miles and utilizing the 4wd only approximately 4 times within the 5 years of ownership with no issue, the transfer case may be faulty or a software update needs to be performed.
