36 Suspension problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/26/2024

Recalled rear coils, over 2-3 months ago, taken to Jeep dealership in morgantown wv, taken for front ball joint knuckle pin coming lose, causing the upper ball joint to start to make noise, unable to control steering when raining or going over bump video was send to mopar when claim and complaint at the time, prior two weeks before also called and report it, someone canceled my call, and said they had no remedy at that time. Was told they had no remedy for recall at that time. Morgantown Jeep then proceeded to fix the rear suspension coil recall. Never notified me the part that was recalled was in fact broken when it was removed. Instead replaced it then told me my rear suspension, structs, and say bar links are broken on both sides of my rear end which mechanically is attached to these coils which is the resulting damages of driving the vehicle for 40,000 miles with improper installed coils. I report this to mopar when giving them the car, the rear end always bounced. I went through my first set of tires in less than 18,000 miles due to this. My case managers name was mary, she was very rude. Called me a liar more than once. They would not even call me to come pick my car up. When talking to the customer service guy at Jeep in morganttown. He said mary said fix only the parts and only what the exact recalled said. And they would not evaluate or do anything for my front control arm and pinch bolt, they tighted it, I even submitted photos where they just tightened it submitted to mopar. Also asked for submission of buy back program due to value dropping more than 10,000 dollars in 3 weeks time, attempted trade off for 38,000- owed 42,000 in octor 2022. Nov price dropped to 32,000 trade in. Value now for trade in due to severity of mechanical issues is now down to less than 28,000, I said 55,000 dollars for this car. I have a 2. 5% interest rate and did not carry over anything over msrp on this vehicle. I am unable to trade it. And the vehicle is barely drivable.

38 Suspension problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/12/2024

Navigation touch screen delamination rendering the user interface that controls many of the car's functions inoperable. Many of the advanced driver assistance systems along with settings for the car's engine, suspension, and steering are controlled through this interface. This is a widespread issue in the wk2 models of Jeep Grand Cherokees. Safe operation of the vehicle is predicated on a functioning touch screen. The car cannot completely be operated safely without this user interface. I reached out to stellantis with my concerns. Stellantis will not cover the cost of replacing the screen once the car is out of warranty. These cars are unsafe to operate without a functioning touch screen.

39 Suspension problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/06/2024

There is something wrong with the front suspension of my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At highway speeds there is noise and vibration which is felt through the steering wheel and brake pedal. At lower speed, on city streets, you can feel / hear a noise when turning and the steering will pull hard to the left you have to quickly turn to the right to get the car going straight again. There seems to be something loose in the suspension which shifts out of place. I have taken it to the Jeep dealer several times and they say they do not find anything, they will balance and align the suspension but this did not fix the problem . The last time they blamed the tires, which had 55k miles, so I replaced the tires and still have the problem. This is a very dangerous situation, if it occurred in heavy traffic it would could cause the car to lurch into the oncoming lane of traffic and cause a head-on collision.

41 Suspension problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/05/2024

I purchased a 2022 Jeep, my miles are under 20000, I took it to the dealership and told them something was going on with the vehicle. They checked the vehicle and said nothing was wrong with it. I ended up taking it back because the situation got worse, they finally told me it was my suspension. I also told them about the recall that was over looked. They told me to pick up my vehicle with no explanation to why. I had a warranty and there was no reason for them to deny me service.

42 Suspension problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/30/2024

While driving my car on the interstate and main highways, it started wobbling back and forth worsening as it was driven further. The main body of the car began swaying left to right while still driving in a straight line. As we noticed it, luckily there was a Jeep dealership at the next exit on the interstate, so we took it straight to them and the senior mechanic stated he had "never seen anything like it" how there were multiple breaks in the metal connecting the passenger side rear knuckle joints without a known impact to the site of damage on the car, he stated "something like that should have never broken by itself without you hitting something". Nothing was or has ever been hit in this car, this piece of equipment failed on its own and put several people's life in danger, the wheel could have very well come off and caused a crash at interstate speeds of up to 75mph (the local speed limit) and surely would have caused multiple fatalities as there were multiple passengers. The vehicle has been inspected by the team at blue ribbon Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram in sallisaw, oklahoma and is being repaired there, and the available broken parts will be returned to me when the repairs are completed as evidence. There were no notices or warnings from the system alerting us of any issue with the suspension or any other malfunction in the car. This is a very dangerous issue if there are multiple other cars that have had this issue.

43 Suspension problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/24/2024

The front suspension rattles and clunks constantly as if there is loose linkage or ball joints going bad. It is happening at every speed and is worse when it is hot outside. I am concerned that something is loose and will result in a loss of control. The dealer has been unable to find the source of the loud clunking noise but says everything looks ok.

I called our dealership to schedule the repair for this recall; they indicated that parts have been back ordered and they are only getting one part per week to accomplish repairs. They have a waiting list established on which I am number 62, which at the current rate of receipt of parts, I would be waiting for about 15 months to get the recall repair completed. For a recall that could potentially cause a crash without warning, this seems like something that should be addressed more quickly than 15 months.

61 Suspension problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/27/2024

I am writing to provide feedback and express my concerns about the safety and reliability of my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee l. Over the last 12 months, my vehicle has been subject to three recalls, including a severe safety recall involving the potential for the upper control arm (uca) to separate from the knuckle, and a failed rear differential. The most recent recall, announced on February 28, has been particularly troubling, as it has rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive or rent out, directly impacting my livelihood as I use this vehicle exclusively for turo rentals. It has been over 30 days since the announcement of the recall, and I have received no indication of when the necessary repairs will be made available. A timeline for resolution exceeding 30 days for such a significant safety recall and the absence of interim support measures from the manufacturer has left me in a precarious position, both financially and in terms of vehicle safety. I am concerned about the frequency of recalls and the severity of the issues identified in such a new vehicle. Additionally, the extended period without a resolution or clear communication from the manufacturer exacerbates these concerns. I kindly request that NHTSA investigate the handling of this and previous recalls for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee l to ensure that consumer safety and communication are adequately prioritized. Thank you for your attention to these matters. I trust that the NHTSA will take the necessary steps to address these concerns and improve the recall process for the safety and benefit of all consumers. Sincerely,.

62 Suspension problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/24/2024

Cannot get accurate information from manufacturer about safety recall 24v-132. Both the fca website and NHTSA date the recall at 2-22-24, which places it before my sales date. They keep providing conflicting information about the date of this recall, which has left me confused and uncertain able the safety of my new vehicle. If fca sold me a vehicle they knew was defective, had an open safety recall, and they don't have the ability to make the vehicle safe it shouldn't have been sold to me. The attached photos show I took possession on 2-24. The NHTSA and fca website (fca website screenshot is provided) show a recall date of 2-22. The 10b fca recall letter says 2-23. All dates precede my purchase date of 2-24, showing fca knowingly sold, and financed as this is through fca financing, a vehicle with an open safety recall without informing me or fixing it.

68 Suspension problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/04/2024

We have an unknown problem with a clunking/creaking noise while driving the vehicle we believe is coming from the front of the vehicle, possibly the suspension or steering. We are not sure we feel safe driving the vehicle since after taking it to the dealer three times in the past year, the dealer acknowledges the clunking but has not been able to identify and fix the issue. We have been told by the dealer it is safe to drive - but if they can't identify and fix the issue - how do they know that to be the case? without being able to identify the cause of the noise and whatever resulting unusual wear and tear, will we have a catastrophic steering or suspension failure while driving the vehicle? our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe trailhawk, (purchased new) has an "air" suspension - not sure if it's an option or standard on the trailhawk models. We have had it in to the dealer three times for this issue - this last time the dealer had the truck for 16 plus weeks. The front stabilizer bar has been replaced multiple times, the upper and lower control arms have all been replaced, all four air shocks have been replaced, and a mounting bracket replaced. The dealer told us they opened a star case with Jeep and the Jeep engineer has been on-site to examine the vehicle. After the engineer requested three different fixes that did not fix the problem, the dealer returned the vehicle and stated they are aware the issue persists and the Jeep engineering group is working on a resolution (even though they no longer have the vehicle in their possession to test solutions). They will notify us when a repair is available.
