Started having a transmission slip in 2nd gear repair shop looked things over and said transmission fluid was a little low and I was leaking transmission fluid due ac condenser going bad. Had it replaced, no more leaking transmission fluid but transmission still acting up now. Was told it was most likely due to the leak and trans fluid getting low. After reading up I guess this is a common issue and should be recalled. Obviously these a/c condenser units are faulty. Now I have a transmission that could have been avoidable if Jeep would have let owners know about the ac condenser issue or made that a unit that has to get replaced after so many miles.
Fluid leaks from the transmission and ac condenser unit, driver side edge. Several small points leaks. Mechanic said it's a common transmission fluid leak problem due to poor manufacture and have to replace the combined unit at Jeep dear. Search the internet, see quite a few complain.

When driving on the interstate at normal speed, the vehicle jumped out of gear and into neutral while in the passing lane. With no power I almost had a car rear end me before I could put on my flashers and pull over. When I pulled over and restarted the vehicle, it acted normal for a while. Before arriving home the vehicle did the same thing again. I took the vehicle to a repair shop and was told that the transmission oil cooler had started leaking and the vehicle was low in transmission fluid. However, with this vehicle there is no way to check the transmission fluid level and there was not a lot of fluid leakage found where car is normally parked. This needs to be recalled before someone gets injured!.

Transmission cooler/condenser leak causes loss of tranmission fluid but you can't check the fluid level because there is a tamper proof cap on the transmission fluid level dip stick. Transmission got hot, truck slipped gears and loss of forward momentum control. This should be a recalled item but is not.
Transmission fluid leak coming from a/c condenser/transmission cooler. Significant leakage leading to poor transmission performance such as slippage and vehicle jerking on acceleration or deceleration. Also jerks when putting into gear from park.
Transmission fluid leak coming from a/c condenser/transmission cooler. Significant leakage occurring leading to problematic transmission performance such as slippage and vehicle jerking on acceleration or deceleration. It appears this is a known issue with these models of Jeep Grand Cherokee and this type of component failure should not be considered normal wear and tear. This should be taken care of under a manufacturer recall of the problematic areas before serious issues arise.
Car began to sputter and rise in rpms and missing gear going into nuetral and causing dangerous situations in traffic runs at 2 rpms in ideal standpoint now car is leaking fluids and service 4wheel drive lights on I read that there are recalls for this issue in other keeps but not for my VIN number and this is a manufacturer problem.
Transmission cooler is leaking. No warning, just fluid on the ground - several complaints from other owners online. Oil pressure sensor not working. - no warning, several complaints from other owners on line.
Three instances where two stationary and one in motion full acceleration with out touching the gas pedal. The dealer told me that there was a transmission fluid leak. Caused my transmission oil to burn which lead to a faulty transmission. Pcim was flashed and caused transmission to decelerate at 40mph loosing all function.
Was driving up an entrance ramp to get on a busy highway and all of a sudden the car made a revving sound and a pop. Wasn't sure what happened so tried to go and car would not go over 15mph. We put the hazard lights on and move it off to the side. When we stepped out of the vehicle there was a weird smell and fluid was leaking out of the bottom. We had to drive 15mph to get home because it would not go out of first gear. Towed the car to the dealership to be checked out. Took the dealership four days to look at it and comes back and says it needs a new transmission we will pay $2 grand and you will need to pay $4 grand. I have only had this vehicle for two years and it is only 7,000 miles over warranty. They never contacted fiat/Chrysler so we had to call them. We currently have a case with them but they are trying everything to get out of owning up to having a transmission problem. It has been at the dealership for two weeks and we were never given a loaner car. If this would have happened after we were already on the freeway we could have been slammed into from behind. It could have been a major wreck with injuries. All fiat/Chrysler is worried about is our oil change records because we do it ourselves instead of paying them to do it. Oil changes have absolutely nothing to do with the transmission going out. There was no warning or anything.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was inform it was not part of a recall. The failure mileage was 131,000. As.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4. Transmition cooler leaks transmition fluid . That can cause a fire from the fluid being sprayed over the exaust. And the loss of transmition fluid can cause the veichal to suddenly loose power and cause a accedent. This is a problem that Jeep has had for many years and has not done anything to fix. Or improve the problem in the viechel.
With only 50,800 miles check engine light produced several codes. I took this vehicle to 3 different places for a diagnostic test. They said it was power steering / a/c coolant leaking. With the 2nd diagnoses they found a leak with the auxiliary cooler (transmission fluid). So I had a complete transmission flush work done, but it's still leaking. .
The combination ac condensor/transmittion oil cooler is leaking transmittion fluid. It will have to be replaced to resolve the issue. I started noticing oil on the skid plate under the front end.
(ec dealer info) tl the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that he observed that transmission coolant fluid was leaking from the from of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they advised the contact that no open recalls were open for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the vehicle was parked, there was puddle of fluid under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the condenser leaked. The condenser, air conditioner, and transmission fluid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.
Transmission cooler ac condenser combination unit leaking at welds. A lot of these owners complaining of these faulty coolers around the internet - forums, you tube, etc. Very expensive repair needed due to having to empty and recharge the freon system, as well as refill transmission fluid which can only be done by a professional at a properly equipped service shop. Transmission fluid has no owner dip stick for level check. Noticed fluid leak on floor/ground that could cause a slip or fall.
There is a leak at the transmission cooler. Looking on line, this appears to be a common problem. I notices the problem when I tried to accelerate up a hill and the transmission would not shift to the proper gear, and the car slowed and I pulled off to the side of the road to not block traffic. This was dangerous and I was not happy. I turned the car off and on, and it seemed to work fine. The dealer service department located the problem to be the transmission oil cooler leak causing low transmission fluid/oil and making the car not shift properly. I was driving/accelerating up hill at the time. The Jeep dealer at folsom California has the car now.
Transmission cooler, a/c condenser combo unit began leaking transmission fluid around 50,000 miles. There is no dip stick to know how much fluid is in the transmission so it is dangerous. The trans could be low on fluid and possibly fail while driving causing an accident. Upon searching the internet I found other 2011-2012 Jeep Grand Cherokees with the same leak, on the same part, at the same location on the part, around the same miles. Chrysler believes this is normal to have the part fail even though it is failing before the transmission or a/c even require servicing. I disagree because my other vehicle has 297,000 miles and has the same condenser from when the vehicle was purchased. I paid to have the part replaced and contacted Chrysler for reimbursement and to open an investigation. Chrysler said there is no recall and if a recall happens in the future they will notify us. We strongly believe this leak should be investigated as a manufacture defect and public safety issue.
Driving on an interstate freeway with adaptive cruise control activated. Cruise control deactivated on its own, mil illuminated and the transmission began slipping severely resulting in drastic loss of power and vehicle speed in interstate traffic. Rolled vehicle to shoulder and noticed transmission fluid coating the entire undercarriage of the vehicle as well as all over the ground under the vehicle. Dealer diagnosis was an improperly routed at the factory transmission cooler line that was in contact with the driveline causing the line to wear through and leak transmission fluid. While there wasn't a fire, one could easily have started when the transmission oil contacted hot exhaust system components near the transmission.
The contact owns a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the vehicle was parked downhill, the contact discovered transmission fluid leaking. Also, while driving 70 mph, the engine stalled and caught fire. The contact extinguished the fire. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 298,000.

Wife was driving our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5. 7l, quandra drive ii transmission. While driving yesterday a policeman on patrol noticed a sudden fire under her car. Officer said transmission fluid was leaking onto the exhaust system and caused ignition of fire. Occupants extracted themselves without problem. Entire car engulfed in flames and extinguished by local fire department. Car an entire loss. Very lengthy service history with the transmission in this vehicle prior to fire.
Car simply stalls - in intersections, on roadway for no reason. Drive train, fluid leaks car is unsafe.
I have a transmission leake. Chrysler recall is e 13. I could not get a dealship to take the vehicle in on Friday. Called Chrysler, they were not really any help, the did provide me the name of a Dodge dealership in the area. They took the car Friday 11/18/05, said they fixed the recall. The leak is worse that before. Just like before I have transmission fluid spraying on the exhaust. This per Chrysler's recall letter is a fire hazard. Further the recall we recieved yesterday indicates that the transmission should have been flushed and/or the troque converter repalced. Neither of these things were done. I have the car back and can not get a return call from the dealeship to get the car back into the shop.
: the contact stated the check engine light illuminated and transmission fluid leaked from the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the dealer numerous times, but the dealer was unable to accurately remedy the problem. There is a NHTSA recall, # 05v396000 concerning the automatic transmission however the recall did not correct the problem. Afterwards, the transmission would not shift properly. The vehicle is having the same problems as indicated in the recall again. Also, the dealer suggested the automatic control of the sunroof assembly which failed to work properly was related to the ongoing transmission problem as well, but no further repairs were made.
Transmission has to be replaced because of a popping and grinding noise when the vehicle is placed in reverse from park or neutral. Transmission was rebuilt after only 2019 miles and has been worked on two times since. Once for a factory recall and the other time for a transmission fluid leak.

I own a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and since the purchase date I have had problems ranging from brakes to check engine lights, most recently the transmission is beginning to leak fluid. I have contacted Jeep and the local dealer about this issue and they are not willing to step forward on this issue. The vehicle has 30,k miles and is a 3rd vehicle for me to use, so it does not get a lot of usuage. At this point I would consider this a complaint issue as the vehicle is in immaculate condition, except for the leaking transmission. I would like to inquire as to the number of '99 Jeeps that are experiencing the same issue. I have been communicating with other Jeep owners that have the exact same issue. I have encouraged them to do the same as I am with my filed complaint. Also, Jeep has been extremely arrogant about their responses to "not assist" with this matter.
