In the rear, there is a popping noise while turning or taking off from a dead stop at a light it pops real loud and causes the vehicle to jerk. I have taken this to multiple places and no one can figure it out. What is going to happen is that the transmission or something going to break and cause a major accident.

Jeep sputtered during a red light. Check engine light illuminated. Head cylinder failure at 66 thousand miles. Engine made ticking noise. Brought to Jeep repair in mass. Diagnosed and repaired left head cylinder. Stared other vins had recalls, my Jeep wasn't included. Same failure as other recalled engines, they did repair after engine leaking as well and transmission line failures at 66k miles.
After putting the vehicle in what I thought was park in my circular drive, I hit the power button and exited the vehicle. It must have been in neutral because when I turned around to go back to the car to figure out what was going on with the noise, I saw my 10 year old pull the transmission into drive from the back seat. The car started moving forward at an angle (the wheels were turned due to circle drive) and I had to run to get it. After I got in the car and before I could get my foot on the break, my left leg that was still outside the door was smashed when the car swiped a tree and the right side of the car hit a rock. I was told the damage was over $1300 to repair. I did not seek medical treatment for my leg.

The truck makes a weird vibration noise it sounds coarse and feels weird after 20mph. All these problems have been happening since I took tthe Jeep out the dealership. I always bring it back to the dealer they say they fix it and I always bring it right back with the same exact problems.

It has happened a few times the lever in the gas tank that lets the gas gauge know how much gas is in it sticks when it says a quarter tank it is actually completely empty. This has left myself and my two babies left to walk and get pushed to a gas station. The other complaint is that the transmission makes a really load whining noise when overdrive is off.

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee make a grinding noise while turning. Consumer states that the mechanic could find nothing wrong with the vehicle. When noise occurred again it also made the entire front panel flash. The dealer informed the consumer the tires had been rotated and the griding noise should cease. There is a very loud whining noise that come from the transmission.
I purchased a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in January 2005. On August 25, 2006, I took the vehicle to normandin Chrysler Jeep because the check engine light had come on and the car was lurching, making noise and kept sliding into third gear. The car was returned to me after three plus weeks and the first time I drove it, my passenger and I were almost involved in an accident because the car died. The car was immediately returned to the dealership where it has been for over two weeks awaiting a "new" transmission. The car has been in the dealership for a total of 36 of the last 38 days. The car is still at the dealership.

Wife was dropping off son at swim practice. Wife noticed son had left a drink in the Jeep. Wife placed the vehicle in park and was walking up the sidewalk to take my son his drink when she heard a noise (popping) from the direction of the Jeep. She turned to see the Jeep rolling backwards across the parking lot. My wife attempted to stop the Jeep but was knocked to the ground. The Jeep continued backward until it hit a fence and a sign pole. Damage to the Jeep includes the drivers door and hinges, scratches to the paint on the rear door, bumper and most of the drivers side of the vehicle, and a broken tail light cover. I talked with the dealer(pomoco Chrysler, Jeep in hampton) and they told me that they would not do anything but check out the transmission once the Jeep was drivable. The service manager sent a message to the factory service technician who responded the same as the dealer. The dealer indicated that I needed to contact my insurance company to start a claim.

The transmission in my Jeep began making noises when decelerating. The dealer found bearing parts, and bearing casings in the transmission pan, and told me the transmission needs to be replaced. This isn't necessarily a safety issue, but I see so many reports of 1998 Jeep transmission problems, how do I know mine is not defective as well ? I have consulted an independant transmission specialist. His opinion states that this trasnmission should not have failed like this with at 43000 miles.
Have experienced numerous quality problems including the 4 wheel drive grinding and jumping, window function problems, rear washerhose leak into rear compartment, rough transmission into reverse from park, oil gauge failure and engine clicking noise during acceleration. Dealer on many occasions says they are normal for the truck to experience and not to worry. I don't believe them.
There is alot pulling within the suspension. Also, a lot of noise is coming from the transmission. Consumer thinks transmission is falling out, and the vehicle stalls.
Overdrive bearings and valve body assembly failed causing noise in transmission unit. Mjs.
When driving from 0 mph to 40 mph there was a very loud knocking noise coming from the transmission, and the vehicle felt like it was going out of gear and as if the transmission was on the ground. The dealer replaced the transmission, and the new one is failing too.

Transmission make a noise when you put it in reverse. Sounds like the transmission has fallen out. When you put it back in park and try it again it doesn't do it until it has set for a while.
While driving, there was a loud grinding and or winding noise coming from the rear. The dealer stated that the gasket and the transmission fluid had flowed on over to the overdrive. The dealer also stated that the transmission was defected. Ts scc.
