Brake Electric Antilock Problems of Jeep Laredo

Every 10-15,000 miles the brakes in my Jeep grand cherokee 2000 have serious wear which causes them to shake wildly. To date, this has caused no crashes but when I am driving with the brakes like this I worry about what would happen in a sudden stop. I understand that thousands of other owners of Jeep grand cherokees have this problem and worry about all these cars on the road. See related article on class action lawsuit. I own a 2003 Jeep gc Laredo. I have had the Jeep a little over a year and it only has 8000 miles. Everytime I brake if the vehicle is going over 40mph the vehicle begins to shake intensely when I hit the brakes. This has been going on for a couple of months now. Luckily, I dont do much highway driving but I did the other day and it scared me when I had to hit the brakes. This is very odd for such a new Jeep w/ low miles to be having problems like this.

Since I bought the vehicle, the brakes have not been "right". I took it in a few times to be told nothing was wrong. I was in 2 accidents, where the vehicle would not stop, and rear ended each vehicle. When I braked at speeds over 50 mph, the front of the vehicle shook. In Aug. 04, I called the dealer again to complain, and was told the brakes are not under warranty (2002 grand cherokee Laredo - 26000 mi) I finally took it to my private mechanic, who told me that he has replaced numerous brakes on this model - they seem to be out of alignment from the start. My insurance company dropped me - too many of the same accidents in the last 2 years, and am now paying high rates, as a result.

Anti-lock brakes grind and vibrate.
