I was driving down the interstate with my dad, when suddenly the air bag light came on. We checked the seatbelts and other factors, but it didn't turn off.
The airbag light is illuminated but we have never had an accident.
Airbag indicator light came on for no reason. It came on as soon as the car started after being parked.
Takata indlators: the air bag light comes on after starting vehicle and now it will not go off in motion.
Car was recalled for air bag computer. I took the car in they replaced the part they were supposed to. When I picked up the car the air bag light was on. When I went back in they told me that they only replace the part and don't test it when done because Chrysler does not pay for it. I verified this with crysler this is true. My safty concern is that they put cars back on the road where they may not be safe. Don't know if the air bags could go off accidentally or if they work at all.

Hello, our Jeep often or always had the airbag light warning on the dashboard. This was a concern of ours, and we had heard awhile back that there was a recall on Jeep Libertys airbag. When attempting to take it in for the recall fix, the company wanted an amount of money that we couldn't afford. Recently my mom was in a car wreck, destroying the vehicles entire front and making it unusable. She told me she only received burns and that she probably wouldv'e been ok if the damaged airbags were fixed. She mentioned to me she received burns on her arms that were the fault of the bad airbags that werent any good. She would be willing to explain this better than I can since I only know that much. Her hand this morning is now swollen from the injury. The vehicle was in a head on car collision with another person set to enter the freeway on a city street.
I had my recalled occupant restraint module fixed. However, when we drive the car the air bag light /chime comes on and then the light will go away. This happens when turning or driving forward.
On November 14,2016 I had the occupant restraint control module replaced due to a recall launched on November 25,2015. In the recall it also stated that the sensors were to be replaced. Since the "fix" my air bag light has gone on and off, now for the last three weeks the air bag light is on all the time. Was told by auto nation Jeep dealer on March third 2017 that it would cost me approximately $787 and change to fix. Was also told that the sensors for my vehicle were not part of the recall. Need to know if I should take it to another dealer or any other options needed to take.
I brought our Jeep to the brookdale Chrysler Jeep for a occupant restrain module recall. Upon picking up the vehicle we noticed the seat belt light on, so I informed the service manager. They where nonchalant about it . They suggested my wife had something on the seat which she did not. The soluntion was for me to pay to have it taken out and another installed. We asked about a loaner vehicle and he stated we had to rent onespite government requests that they provide recall customers with a free loaner. I now have a air bag light on which was not there before they installed the ocuupant restraint module. This is a directly related part and brookdale Chrysler is leaving us hanging. No loaners car signs any where in sight (violation).

Air bag light turned on. After restarting the car it will not turn off. I read a report about air bags deploying due to eletrical spikes and thought I should report my issue. My car was parked when it started and continued when I was driving.
Takata recall--took vehicle to dealer in regards to airbag recall. Was told "parts are unavailable to fix this issue", but it was "safe to drive" as long as the airbag indicator light did not remain on full time. On the way home from the dealer, the indicator did indeed come on & not go off. In researching this online, I see "parts will not be available until late 2016!" I have called Chrysler about being unable to drive my vehicle & was basically brushed off. The one person who was trying to help us, had us on hold so long calling around that their system hung up the phone. I can not sit on a car for a year, unable to drive it, having to rely on one vehicle for our family, and not have any recourse or compensation to offset our time & frustration.
Driving at about 45 mph and the air bag light came on and stayed on, now I am worried as to weather or not the air bag system is safe or if they even work,,there is a recall on my Jeep for this problem,, but they do not have the module manufactured yet. Guess I will go to Jeep garage tomorrow to see what they say.
The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 70 mph, the headlights and the interior lighting dimmed. The air bag indicator illuminated. The lights came back on after approximately two minutes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
Airbag light comes on intermittently. Stays on for several miles, then turns off. This happens repeatedly everyday. Why hasn't this been recalled and Chrysler paid to fix this safety hazard?? also, seat belt release button stopped releasing. It stayed suppressed in the release position not allowing the belt to lock in. After tapping it hard, it released. Then it froze in the locked position and I couldn't get out of the belt. Now it works, but I'm not sure if it's really locked and will release in an accident.
The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. When the vehicle was started, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred each time the vehicle was started. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v046000 (air bags); however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.
There has not been an accident, but my airbag indicator light continues to come on, it will stay on for miles, sometimes it will go off, other times it will not go off until I turn off the engine. I never know when it will come on or go off, but I am constantly in fear that the airbag itself will deploy with me going down the road and cause me to have an accident.
My air bag light is on and the dealer said it needs a control module that is on recall. My state inspection sticker is run out and I cant get it inspected with light on so I cant drive it. Ive been waiting a while with no progress. Is there a expected date for parts or is there a buy back program or rental car program?.
On March 2015 due to a recall m35 (orc filter circuit) for airbags was installed on my vehicle. After installation my airbag light came on (my Jeep never, never has issues with airbags until they installed part. Recently I received another recall from fca r06 (occupant restrain module) due to installation of m35 orc filter circuit to the airbag module. Also there is a revision dated may 2016 to remove recall m35 (orc filter circuit module) and replace airbags control module with front impact sensors. I only took vehicle for extra safety measurements. And due to installation of airbag control module filter circuit my airbags system got affected/damage.

Takata recall. Attempted to get the airbag system occupant restraint control module replaced. I was told in 2015 they didn't have the part. Was then told in 2016 that they never received the part. Have placed numerous calls checking to see if the part came it. Calls were not returned. Now how do I get this done? about 6 months ago my airbag light started coming on and off. How do I get this taken care of, if, as claimed, the dealership never received the part to do the work?.
My airbag light was showing up intermitent , now will stay on permanent. I am afraid to drive it and have an accident.
