My vehicle is a 6 yr old low mileage chevy equinox the stabilitrak light came up as well as the service power streering. It has also lost power in the highway and stalls or won't accelerate at times which makes is very dangerous since I could get hit by someone in the highway. I have taken it to the dealership and they have replaced o then sensor which cost me $400 but not fixed I took it to another mechanic and they replaced some fuses and sensors another $500 still not fixed. The car is now bach at the dealership and it has been a few days. This seems to be. Very common problem with the equinox as I have spoken to a few people who own one and they just ended up trading their car. I don't want another car payment and for a 6 year old car with low mileage this is not normal.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2015, I was on my way to a workshop for my job on route 73 in berlin, new jersey. I had stopped at a light. When the light turned green, I proceeded to go. The car stalled out all the lights on the dash board blinked on and off and the car shut completely off. Then white smoke came out from under the hood. So as I was sitting contemplating what to do next. I looked up and the driver in the car next to me started yelling that there was fire underneath the car. I immediately exited the car and crossed the street on a busy highway. When I reached the other side of the street. Pitch black smoke along with red flames billowed out from under the hood. Afire rescue truck arrive and immediately used a fire extinguisher to douse the fire. Then, the fire trucks and police came to follow up. The fireman lift the hood up and allowed me to view the damage. The battery along with other items on the engine was melted like candle wax. The car was towed away, however as the car was placed on the flatbed of the truck, my truck started smoking and flames were shooting from under the car. Car has been declared totaled. That was a very sad day for me.

I went to start my Jeep and it caught on fire under the hood. Also, it sometimes doesn't start, when it does and I'm driving, it stalls in the middle of traffic. This happens when I'm in the middle of making a left turn and I'm afraid I'm going to get hit! it mostly happens when it's raining or a lot of moisture in the air. It pulls and hesitates while I'm driving as well. My insurance paid for the damage when I had the fire, but I'm now learning that it's a big issue with Jeeps. I have 3 children and I'm afraid for their safety. I can't afford a new vehicle.

We was driving home from work and the Jeep started losing power we pulled it over and turn it off. We sat there for awhile and then try to start it back up the engine was running real rough and it stalled. Then it wouldn't start after that. We had a mech take a look at it and he said that the heads was cracked. We always done monthly maintains on the Jeep. So after he replaced the 2 heads he started it up and he said it would lock up. Now he telling us that it needs a new engine. I know a couple other people that has a Jeep Liberty and they are having the same problems. . So cause of the bad head that Jeep Liberty have I now have no vehicle.

I purchased my Jeep Liberty on 1/7/14 and in the first 3 days the car began to stall while driving. It first happened going at slower speeds (15-20mph) and then happened to me going down a busy road at over 45 mph. The engine completely turns off and power steering fails. Luckily I did not cause any accidents. I immediately contacted the dealer (carmax in orlando FL) and notified them of the issue. I brought my Jeep in for repairs and multiple repairs were done to the engine, suspension etc. I picked up my Jeep up on 1/22/14 and was told all repairs needed had been taken care of. I began my commute to work and got there safely. When I went to lunch on my break once again at a red light my Jeep stalled. And then again another . 5 mi down the road going at approx. 20 mph. I would like to know what is the concern that is being addressed with this problem that multiple people are having with their vehicles. So at least I can tell my mechanic what I would liked fixed when it goes back into the maintenance dept. Please help.

Salvaged engine with reported on 36k miles on it was installed by dealer in may 2011 after first engine was lost. Put new tires, aligment on vehicle on Friday afternoon, drove home, Jeep sit parked until Monday morning. Monday morning started and engine made terrible nosies and died just like first engine did. Refuse to spend any additional $$ on Liberty 3. 7 liter engines. Obiviously an issue. I own a 2006 with a 3. 7, so hopefully will not happen with it.
This problem pertains to the 2006 Jeep Liberty crd 2. 8l diesel. Under acceleration from 55 mph to 65 mph, the vehicle stalled and would not go over 3,000 rpm. When the vehicle slowed to 45 mph, it would not increase speed, effectively in a "limp-in mode" . After the vehicle stopped, the engine was shut off for about 2 minutes then restarted. The vehicle traveled for approximately 5-7 miles with no problems then the incident happened again. The vehicle was towed to the Jeep dealer where it was purchased and after two weeks the dealer basically gave up trying to fix the car. The issue has not been fixed and as I scan the internet I find this is a common yet dangerous problem with this vehicle.
In 2012 my Jeep started bucking and jerking, idle surging, stalling and had. Hesitation while trying to accelerate, it also had sudden surges in car's speed while driving on the highway, the engine light was always on and at times it felt like the back wheels would spin before the car got traction. I was told I needed a new engine, a new engine was put in in Feb 2012 and my car has never run right since. I am now on my second new motor and still am having serious issues with the car. Everytime one thing is fixed another thing goes wrong and it is a never ending cycle. I would never buy another Jeep product again. This is only a part of all the problems I have experienced with my 2004 Jeep Liberty.

Since purchase of 2004 Jeep Liberty in sept 08, I've had a "hiccup" when idling. It's also stalled a few times and not started twice. Four garages and two Jeep dealers later I was advised there is a slight miss in the cylinder. After spending over $300 in pre maintenance(new plugs which I had just replaced in Dec and a DE-carb) the engine is now hesitating and the problem is still there. Advised that I would have to pay again to have it looked at. I've spent $1700 in 10 months already. I'm tired of the lack of customer service - traded it in for a pontiac.
