The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Liberty. The contact was driving 10 mph and noticed that the temperature gauge was rising. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for inspection. The dealer discovered that the cooling fan module had melted and the cooling fan assembly would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified about the incident. The contact stated that the compressor, radiator and cooling fan assembly all have been replaced numerous times. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.
Rear axle seals leaking replaced seals, bearings, and brakes on both sides. Engine started using excessive oil, sometime up to 2-3 quarts low, no smoke or leaks detected. All the power windows started malfunctioning one by one, would not go back up, still working issue. Rear wiper does not work. Had to replace rear brake light units twice due to shorts in wiring. Replace plastic radiator and electric cooling fan.

I have had numerous issues with this vehicle. I have had to replace the cooling fan, three window motors, the alternator, head gaskets, the fuel pump sensor is broken, the oil sensor is broken, when I pump gas it spills out, the radiator, the electrical system on both the left and right side. The tail lights don't work properly and I have replaced both the lights and fuses as well as the sockets numerous times. These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. I've spent thousands of dollars, literally, on this car. I feel like it's a death trap waiting to happen and can't wait until I am able to purchase something else, it won't be a Jeep product. Jeep doesn't care if you have numerous issues with their product. When I first started having issues I called the dealership I purchased from to talk to my salesman and I was asked what my mileage was. I was right around 48,000 miles, I was put off numerous times and told he would be who I would need to deal with. After I hit the 50,000 mark they informed me he had been murdered and I was not out of warranty. Each passing day seems to bring new problems with this vehicle. I just thought someone should finally know. I'm also not counting the recalls in on my list of issues.

Electric cooling fan blades disintegrated penetrating the fan shroud and damaging the radiator.
While leaving a parking lot, the electric cooling fan blades on my 2002 Jeep Liberty 4wd limited broke apart sending pieces through the shroud in several places. Just hours before, I was checking the engine for an intermittent noise. I would have been severely injured if the fan disintegrated while checking the out the noise! I have an appointment with the dealer for repairs. I have been told that the repair is not covered under warranty or recall action.

Air conditioner would intermittently blow warm air. Brought it to the dealership, several times. Eventually it was found to be the bearing in the compressor. The bearing would heat up and bind, causing the clutch not to engage. Had to replace the whole compressor( $900. 00). Air conditioner finally blows cold.
Cooling fan went out which caused Jeep to overheat, causing engine damage. I had to replace the short block, water pump, engine fan. I was told that this is the exact issue that has been recalled but not for my vehicle. This needs to be looked into more thoroughly for my Jeep's year and manufacture date. This first occurred 4/23/07 and was fixed several times until 5/8/07.
- the contact stated that while the 2007 Jeep Liberty with 32000 current mileage was in the shop for a lower ball joint and a torque converter recall the mechanic cut the shroud that covered the fan . Therefore, the fan was exposed. The dealer admitted to cutting the shroud, and they will replace it.
