After my battery died and was replaced, I started the engine and it had developed a knocking noise in the engine. I have spoken to several mechanics and researched on the internet, the 3. 7l Jeep engine is bad. At around 90,000 miles, the rods go out and the engine has to be replaced. Luckily for me, I was at my house when this happened, but the vehicle is not usable. I have heard where the engine has quit working on the highway for the same reason. The manufacturer knows about the problem but won't do anything.
