Jeep Liberty owners have reported 7 problems related to rear window wiper washer (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Jeep Liberty based on all problems reported for the Liberty.
The rear driver side window suddenly, and unexpectedly, fell open from the fully closed position with a loud crashing sound. One open it was unable to be re-closed. Failure in this manner was very startling and can be seen seen as an unnecessary distraction which, in my opinion, constitutes a safety hazard. Upon investigation I found that the part of the mechanism that directly supports the window is made of plastic and further is of insufficient dimension to support the weight of the glass through repeated cycles. The dealer offered me the same inadequate part as replacement which is destined for the same failure.

Jeep 2006 Liberty bought new 12/26/06. As of today my Jeep will be brought back to the dealerships service dept. To have the back passenger side window looked at. I have had issues with the Jeep regarding the windows since 2007. The dealership has replaced the regulators and the windows had to be replaced. The last time the regulator and window was replaced was August 2008 and not even a year later the same issue occurs. The is something that Chrysler needs to address and have resolved for other owners who are having the same problems.
Power windows of Jeep Liberty 2006 4x4 failed a second time. After driving on highway I realized that rear window on passenger side slid down into door and could not be pushed up again. This had happened the first time in July 2008 and was repaired under warranty. The window regulator was replaced. The failing of the power windows is a safety issue. The car can not safely left alone closed because the window always will slide down without warning-> rain damage, theft. Load can get damaged or fall out of the car, kids or pets can get hurt. The dealership states that the whole window assembly needs to be exchanged ($750) although the window is not damaged. This failure of the window regulators is common on 2006 and older models. Jeep has to do a recall and provide reliable and safe power windows on Liberty 2006 and older models.
No events leading to failure, rear driver side window suddenly went down while driving on interstate.
2004 Jeep Liberty window regulator faulty part. I just had it break on me without any reason. No stress or normal usage. Was on rear drivers side window tat hardly ever gets used.

Without warning the body control module shorts out draining the battery and damaging the multi-control switch on the steering column. Causing the headlights, interiorlights, running lights, windshield wipers, factory electric door locks, and dashboard lights to fail. This can cause a fire resulting in a total vehicle loss or loss of lighting at night while driving causing the driver to loose sight of the road. In rain conditions loss of wipers during driving would cause loss of visibility creating a dangerous driver on the road.

When you activate the rear window washer, the front windshield gets sprayed too! you must wipe the windshield immediately so you can see!!!. Also, the same problem happens when you use the windshield washer; the rear window sprayer is activated. This situation is only an inconvenience and waste of washer fluid. Dealer has ordered a new washer fluid pump, under warranty.
