Was turning into a parking spot at a convenient store and my driver front lower ball joint snapped at the base it is a clean break you can hold part in back to gather without gaps. Only if I could glue it back together it would look unbroken. Just joking but yeah at least I wasn’t driving down the road.

The front lower ball joint on the passenger side broke in half which caused my tire to completely separate from the car. Luckily it happened in my driveway, but I had just gotten off the interstate going 75 mph. After replacing it, a closer inspection was done on both upper front ball joints and the driver side lower ball joint. All need replacement. It was a near miss crash, but mine and others safety is still on jeopardy because I can't afford to replace all of them. I haven’t received any recall information in the mail from the manufacturer.

The rear lower control arms on my car are about to break. One has holes all the way through. At 40 mph, vehicle shakes in back. Issue also causes stability control to malfunction. No Jeep dealers that I can use will make appointments before 06/27 even after being shown the terrible condition of the parts. Nor do they offer a loaner car. I contacted Jeep themselves and was offered no manner of accommodation or compensation. I drive for a living, so I can either risk my safety, or give up two weeks income, and job, waiting for Jeep and it's dealers to fix defective equipment. If Jeep and their dealers are unable/unwilling to fix dangerous recalls in a timely manner, they should either afford customer a rental car, or offer to buy the vehicle at market value. I would have accepted either, and not filed this complaint, had I been offered.
Pulled into a parking lot. Heard a loud crunch and then the front of my vehicle dipped down. I put my vehicle in park. Got out and realized that my tire was separated from my vehicle. The ball joint had completely separated.

I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty sport. I was backing out of my driveway when I heard a crunching sound. I got out of the car and saw that the passenger side of my car was much lower than the driver's side. I noticed that their was windshield wiper fluid pouring out of the front end. Upon inspection, I noticed that the ball joint had snapped and the control arm was almost on the ground. Had I been able to get to the freeway as planned, I could have been seriously injured. I called to verify recall information and was informed that the ball joint recall issue had been resolved. However, with further investigation, it seems that this issue is happening after the repairs as well. I have attached pictures. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2006 Jeep Liberty. Consumer is seeking reimbursement for repairs made related to NHTSA safety recall 18v-278.
In the past 15 months (recently as last week) I've had to replace the ball joints in the front end. We are the original owner and have the same address when purchased. I see there was a recall notice but I was never informed. Nhtsa recall #06v288000. The repair on 9/210/21 repair was a total of $516. 00. The repair in 6/2020 was $516. 00 as well. Lower ball joint - $136 upper control arm - $130 labor - $250.
Reversing out of a driveway went to turn wheel heard loud pop snap front passenger side went to ground fender popped lose discovered by tow that the lower ball joint had snapped and possible lower control arm.
Right upper ball joint control arm collapsed while in the drive-through at mcdonald's could not move the car turn it or do anything it completely collapsed on the front right side due to corrosion of the lower ball joint and then I know this has been recalled however my car is not under the recall and I don't understand why because it was the same exact issue it's a Jeep Liberty.
Drivers side lower ball joint catastrophic failure with no warning signs evident except split boot(s). Separation/break from upper control arm, tie rod and steering assembly at low speed reverse. Nhtsa recall 06v288000 (daimler-Chrysler notification code: f23) of lower ball joints performed by Chrysler authorized dealer/repair station 2007. Dealer contacted two (2) weeks prior to incident to coordinate possible re-repair and/or consideration of faulty oem parts used in original recall.
I made an appointment at my local Jeep deslership to have the recall hitch installed. Upon arrival, the service representative told me he needed to hook up a device to read my Jeeps computer codes. I declined that service because I only wanted the recall processed. He then informed me that a hitch couldn't be installed by 5pm "when they closed". After a 30 minute wait, the service representative told me that the bolts in the grame were "to rusted" to be removed to install the hitch. I would like to know if I can file for financial reimbursement when I pay for another business to install the hitch since I've given Jeep the opportunity to fix the recall and they've refused.
For the 3rd time in the last 3 years the control arm has had to be replaced on this vehicle! I have been driving with my children in the car when the control arm snapped and made my car un drivable ! there was no warning lamp!.
On 7/10 I'm driving down the road towards the freeway. I hear a very loud pop that startles me. I pull over & discover lower ball joint has separated causing the lower control arm to slip out of socket into the wheel & than separate from wheel. I mean its still attached to the vehicle but vehicle is completely disabled. It caused significant damage to the right front wheel and somewhat minor damage to the right front fender. Theres literally metal shaving all over the road from it carving the metal out of my wheel. Get home and my boyfriend tells me that he's discovered 3 safety recalls. So we call fca (fiat Chrysler automobiles) they said they would have it towed to the dealership no problem but they needed a $103 for the tow that they would reimburse later. They told us to pick any dealership. So fca has it towed from my driveway on 7/13 at 8:45pm to lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of portland dealership. Safety recall f23 was replaced by the dealership but the manufacturer (fca) has not fixed the damage and is denying responsibility. Fca calls on 9/16 to finally tell us that a certified inspector has determined the damage to the wheel and fender is not from the recall. Which is a lie and I can take it to a mechanic and have that verified. They also go on to state they are not going to reimburse the $103 for the tow. So we go to the dealership to pick up the car the next day. I speak with will in the service department and ask to see a copy of the inspection that the fca is talking about. Will tells me that fca never sent an inspector out and there is no inspection report stating that the damage is not from the recall. I have lots of photos of everything. Please contact me.

The front control arms broke 2 times within the last 2 years from corrosion! no warning lights.
Yes I checked for recall on my 04 Jeep Liberty suspension and there is a recall on it I was driving my Jeep and it is pulling so much that it's scary to drive but it's the only vehicle I have to get back and fourth to work so I researched it and everything it's saying on the recall is what is going on I'm afraid to get in a wreck and not only hurt my but mostly hurt anyone else in a crash where can I take it to get fixed.
Front lower control arm ball joints are worn on both sides an it's only the bottom ones. No safety hazard yet but I'm sure if it fails it will be scary. Multiple other vehicles made prior to the moth this one was manufactured had a recall on the lower ball joints. I believe this vehicle is also affected by faulty front lower control arm ball joints. No warnings an I've had excessive play in the ball joints for about about as long as I have had the vehicle but as I said it's only the lower front all other joints remain intact an in working order.
