2 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2015 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 09/27/2018

I bought my 2015 Jeep Renegade brand new in September 2015 and began having problems right away. There's a power issue where the car will just shut off and lose power and the key gets stuck in the ignition. I have had it jumped several times just to get it moving again. Took the car to several auto zones to test out the battery just to see if I would get a different response but each confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the battery. It either completely shuts off or stops picking up speed in the middle of busy houston traffic. You can feel when it switch gears sometimes, it makes this hard and loud popping noise when it's trying to switch gears. It's always done that. This usually happens if I'm at a slower driving speed, like turning at a light, and then accelerate to pick up speed, it either makes that loud popping sound, or struggles to pick up speed and eventually stalls and/or lose power. It's real scary. I've been having this problem since I bought it and have had it checked out many times but no one can tell me what's wrong with it. I have been monitoring the recalls and have been seeing numerous cases from people with the same issue I'm having but somehow my VIN isn't associated with any recalls.

3 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2017 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 08/16/2018

While driving my vehicle jerks and lunges forward when shifting gears. As I am driving I will hear a loud clunk noise, which then results in my engine stalling out. It has happened while driving on the highway. I've noticed it happens when I must accelerate quickly or when I release the gas pedal. On the panel soon after the clunk a message appears stating that the car must be shifted to park in order to drive. I am afraid to drive my car as I purchased it to ensure the safety of my son. It has been a nightmare each time I attempt to drive it. Dealership says it's normal for 2. 4l transmissions to do this, main cause is low oil. I have found that it still happens after a fresh oil change. The car only has 15,000 miles on it. No harsh driving has been done. This issue needs to be fixed. This issue puts every driver on the road at the same time at risk. These engines are lemons.

4 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 09/13/2017

On Tuesday 9/6 my Renegade was making a clicking noise and started smoking and smelled like it was overheating. No indicator lights came on. We checked the oil and it smelled burnt and did not register on the dipstick. I called the dealer and was told it was because the oil change was 1000 miles overdue. We put a quart of oil in and the noise stopped. We took it to the dealership for an oil change and were told there were no other problems. One week later on 9/13 it made the same noise and again started smoking and smelled like it was overheating. Again no indicated lights came on. I let it cool a few minutes then drove to my destination 2-3 mines further. At that time the check engine light came on. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership where they said it was a fan motor. The part is on backorder until sometime in November. My vehicle has less than 39000 miles and is 1 1/2 years old.
