1 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/09/2020

While driving approximately 40 mph through a double curve on a city street the steering locked up on my 2018 Jeep wranlger. A steering error, check engine light, traction control and abs light all came on. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealer. This is now the 3rd time the vehicle has been taken to the dealer (twice via tow). Each time, the scanner has given the same codes yet fca has returned the vehicle to me stated its fixed. The steering locking up could have resulted in an accident harming myself or another vehicle.

5 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/17/2017

2015 Jeep Wrangler, in motion, traveling straight, on highway (roads were wet from recent rain) & approaching traffic signal at major intersection. Signal changed from green to yellow. I pushed the the brake pedal to slow down. The vehicle did not respond, the Jeep did not slow down. The Jeep continued traveling straight. I pushed the brake pedal at least two more times, down to the floor. The brakes did not respond. There was a very loud "grinding" noise coming from the Jeep when I applied the brake pedal. The vehicle continued into the intersection where it came to a stop. The brakes did not slow this vehicle down, the brakes did not work! there was no control of this vehicle's speed. Dealership service dept. Checked out this Jeep the next day & found no problem with this Jeep & could not duplicate concern. When I later drove the Jeep home, the abs light came on. Fca, Chrysler customer care was notified. Chrysler assigned a case number & case manager. The case manager informed me that she called the service/dealership (who serviced the Jeep the day after the event) and she was told by the service mgr. "Jeep is operating perfectly & is up to my satisfaction". I informed Chrysler, via phone & email, that that was not the case at all! I sent Chrysler a written, detailed report of exactly what occurred with this vehicle. I also stated that this incident could have ended very differently, with injuries and or death! I never heard from Chrysler again. As of today, Chrysler has not returned any of my phone messages.

6 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/28/2016

Abs brakes engage while driving at highway speeds without touching brakes. This causes the abs light to turn on and all four wheels go through the anti-lock stutter pattern and can dramatically affect steering control when it is unexpected, pulling the vehicle hard in either direction. This happened to me 4 times yesterday while making a 250 mi road trip on the way back home. The dashboard light illuminates briefly each time as the abs system engages for roughly 2-3 seconds and then releases. Each time this happened road speeds were between 45-65mph.

7 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/20/2015

My abs brakes come on at low speeds usually when I'm just starting out driving. The only way for me to continue driving is to disable the skid control. The abs lights will stay on and the ante skid control light will stay on for a brief amount of time sometimes it will go off and sometimes it will just stay on. The only time that it seems to not happen is when the car is on a flat surface and I just started out and all tires are straight. I tested a theory that I could put it in 4 wheel drive and start driving and the anti-lock brakes wouldn't come on and that work for the longest time. The minute I described it to a friend of mine and tested it out it failed anti-lock brakes came on when I was in 4 wheel drive at low speed.

8 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

I first noticed prior to may 2014 that my cruise control had quit working but just figured the control had gone out. Then about may 2014 the airbag, stability control and abs lights came on while I was driving and have been on since then. The Jeep does still chime notifying me of the issue. After researching the problem I've come to conclusion its the clockspring, which has been recalled/warranty extended on several model year Wranglers. I have a hard time believing understanding why this hasn't been extended to additional model years. Is Jeep waiting on xx number deaths and injuries to occur due to a faulty part related vehicle safety?.

9 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/16/2006

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle coasted and restarted on its own. The vehicle failed again while pulling into the driveway. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. On July 10, 2007, the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA recall number 07v291000 (electrical system). The vehicle has not stalled since the repair, but continues to hesitate as if it will stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice because the air conditioning system failed. On August 27, 2007, the contact noticed that the abs and anti-skid lights were illuminated. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for the a/c system. The current mileage was 18,000 and failure mileage was 2,384.
