Brake Antilock Control Unit/module Problems of Jeep Wrangler

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The dealer has had the vehicle for 15 days. It is being serviced for NHTSA campaign id number 07v434000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock:control unit/module). The dealer stated that the part was unavailable and would keep the vehicle until it arrived. There had been no failure to date. The current mileage was 6,000.

Abs/ traction control/ electronic stability control engages at times when using highway on/ off ramps and without applying the brakes. Vehicle had been previously repaired for this issue by updating the abs control module software to the latest version, but the issue still persists. The abs malfunction indicator light illuminates and stays illuminated, but the dealer can find no trouble codes. Note: this vehicle did not fall into campaign 06v493000 as the abs module under the scope of that recall was introduced two days after this vehicle was built.

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact went to the dealer to have the repair performed for recall # 06v493000 (service brakes, hydraulic:anti-lock:control unit/module ). The dealer stated that they could not perform the recall repair, but failed to offer an explanation. The current and failure mileages were 3,100. The consumer complained of the check engine light illuminating. The dealer replaced the fuel tank and purged the control valve. The check engine light illuminated again and they replaced the fuel canister which was leaking. The third time, the dealer replaced the fuel filler neck and tube. Updated 05/11/10.

Esp computer system failure, faulty abs module, electrical failure.

2007 Jeep Wrangler with recall for brake failure. Consumer states that he finally received a recall for the faulty brakes. He would like reimbursement for the brake repair since his was fixed before the recall was sent out. The consumer stated the problem occurred while he was in 4-wheel drive, low range over the top of a small rise. When he attempted to brake, nothing happened, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and the small down slope caused the consumer to speed up and hit a low set of rocks and hard dirt. The rear differential cover was leaking. The vehicle had extensive damage to the front axle and surrounding parts. Recall # 07v434000 no police report mentioned.

On a maintained dirt county road the brakes on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler failed to stop my car causing a rear end collision with another car. I could feel the pulsing of the abs brakes but the car refused to slow down,it pulled me into the car infront of me.
