I had already experienced the death wobble in my Jeep prior to today's date, I had everything under the front end tightened and the front track bar replaced, cost, approximately 700 dollars. The track bar was replaced April 30 2015, today may 1 2015 I got on the highway ramp as soon. As I hit 65 and a bump the Jeep began to go into a violent shaking. In order to maintain control I had to grip the steering wheel very tight, white knuckle, and pull off to the side of the highway during morning rush hour. After coming to a complete stop the wobble stopped. I bright to Jeep and the said probably the steering. The called me later and said it was the upper lower ball joints, tie rods, alignment, and steering. 2200 bucks. For a car that's only a few years old no reason something like the ball joints should be that worn or that I should experience a death wobble in the first place. I don't off road, my car is not lifted. Jeep is not willing to pay any of the repair even thought the car is like brand new.

While driving thru construction at approximately 45 mph my 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited started shaking and wobbling violently. It was so terrifying and we had no idea what was happening. My daughter and I were taking my grandson to children's hospital and had another 70 miles to travel ahead of us and were scared to continue in this vehicle. We had to slow to almost a stop to get it to stop wobbling. We got off the hwy and found a Jeep dealer who rented us a car to finish our trip as they tried to repair my Jeep. I had only bought it 34 days before this happened but have owned Jeeps for the last 18 years. When we retrieved the Jeep, they replaced the steering dampener shock and said I should consider upper and lower ball joints. We made it home slowly afraid it may happen again. My fiance and I took it to the dealer we got it from the next morning and left it there for them to examine, they said the ball joints look fine and could not find anything wrong. We did some research and found that we are not alone it is called "death wobble" and with good reason, it feels like you are going to die. The next day we had a meeting with the salesman and his manager, they said we need to put in a complaint with Chrysler and the would speak to their Chrysler rep. As they have never heard of it. That day it happened again when my fiance was driving it as he was getting on an off ramp at 50 mpr. This is a very dangerous defect that could kill someone. I know if I trade it in some other family will get it and I don't want anyone else to go thru this. Please please help us.

Front axle upper and lower ball joints showing abnormal wear and movement. Dealer claims wear and play in joints is normal even though the factory service manual says the parts are worn and need to be replaced.

This problem has been occurring since the first week I bought the Jeep used back in 2007. I returned to the dealership three times in the first month to have them balance, rotate tires, check alignment. Was told I needed new tires. New tires does fix the problem for a while. I have replaced brakes, rotors, tires, had alignments, rotations etc. Only to have the problem recur. I have now found that this problem is called the "Jeep death wobble" and has hundreds of like complaints. My tire wobbles terribly at around 55 miles per hour. I am now told that I should replace my upper and lower ball joints. Chrysler/Jeep has already acknowledged a similar problem on their liberty. They need to discover the problem so that we can fix this and ride safely before someone dies from this defect.

I was driving my 2004 Jeep liberty when my ball joint broke on passenger side. I took it into dealership and they said the other side had to be replaced also,it was at maximum tolerance. I'm very concerned for others that have this vehicle because I was lucky that my grandchild and I weren't killed.
