Jeep Wrangler owners have reported 808 problems related to other fuel system (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Jeep Wrangler based on all problems reported for the Wrangler.
My vehicle is subject to two open safety recalls: 68c (phev high voltage battery) and 78c (phev 2. 0l engine fire / loss of propulsion). Recall 78c currently has no available remedy and involves risk of engine fire and sudden loss of propulsion without warning. The manufacturer has issued guidance advising modified use and safety precautions, including parking the vehicle outside and avoiding certain operating conditions. Based on these warnings and the lack of a remedy, I do not feel safe operating or using the vehicle as intended. I contacted Jeep/stellantis recall customer care multiple times and was assigned a case number. However, no loaner vehicle or transportation assistance has been provided, my assigned case manager and supervisor did not follow up, and my local Jeep dealer has not contacted me to schedule service or provide alternatives. Due to the unresolved safety recall, lack of remedy, and lack of manufacturer follow-through, I am unable to safely use the vehicle.

. I am submitting this complaint regarding the handling of two safety recalls affecting my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4-door 4xe, which I learned about through my “November vehicle health report” email on November 22, 2025. Since then, I have been in ongoing communication with Jeep, Chrysler customer care, and mopar; however, they have not provided sufficient guidance. 1) recall 68c: the vehicle health report included a link to the fca recall notice advising owners to “refrain from recharging” and to “park away from structures and other vehicles. ” Chrysler emailed on November 26 offering a 30-day rental reimbursement tied only to recall 68c, but the amount does not cover an equivalent or safe winter-capable vehicle for our region. 2) recall 78c: I have been unable to obtain clear information regarding recall 78c. The vehicle health report included minimal details and no link to the fca documentation. I found the part 573 safety recall report (25v766) on the NHTSA website while trying to determine if the vehicle was safe to drive. Chrysler customer care repeatedly avoids answering whether a “do not drive” advisory exists for 78c and continually redirects me to the 68c guidance. The NHTSA representative I spoke with was also unsure why Chrysler did not select either advisory checkbox (do not drive / park outside) on page 3 of the 78c report, leaving owners without essential guidance. 3) impact on safety and daily life: my household relies on a single vehicle. With no safety guidance for 78c and an engine warning light that appeared on October 3, 2025—along with electric mode not functioning that day, which required service at the Jeep dealership—we determined it was safest not to drive the vehicle. We have now been without transportation for seven days. We kindly ask NHTSA to help us (and other customers) secure clear 78c safety guidance and an equivalent transportation solution until the recall is resolved.
My Jeep Wrangler 4xe displayed a ‘service charging system’ warning immediately after unplugging from charging. I began to drive and noticed the warning right away. I then parked and attempted to restart the vehicle, but it would not start and became completely inoperable. The vehicle had to be towed. The dealer confirmed this issue is related to the current hybrid safety recall, but stellantis has stated that no repair is available, and it may not be available until the end of the year or the first quarter of next year. The vehicle is undrivable, and I cannot safely use or move it. Stellantis is only offering reimbursement for a rental, which I cannot access because I cannot afford to pay for a rental vehicle upfront. Reimbursement for what could be an unlimited or months-long period of rental fees is not a reasonable or accessible remedy. This leaves me without any safe or practical transportation option. I have now been without transportation for over 48 hours, and the manufacturer is not providing a reasonable remedy or safe transportation while the recall repair remains unavailable. I am filing this complaint so NHTSA can document the delay, the lack of an accessible remedy, and the manufacturer’s failure to provide a safe, timely solution for an undrivable recall-affected vehicle. Last week the cat went in for the open recalls. However the electrical and propulsion problems are still going on so I think it’s more than software. The car jerks and come close to stalling almost like a standard transmission with the clutch not catching properly. Additionally, and this is separate and does not occur with the problem described above. The dashboard lights randomly go off. It has no correlation to anything just randomly shut off then come back on.

Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe my vehicle has two separate critical safety recalls with no remedy available: high-voltage battery fire risk (vehicle may catch fire even when parked; cannot charge; must park outside). Recall 68c for engine contamination with sand causing catastrophic engine failure, fire, and sudden loss of propulsion. Jeep states that repair parts are unavailable for both recalls. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unusable for transportation. I am requesting NHTSA intervention to compel stellantis to provide a remedy or repurchase the unsafe vehicle.
My Jeep Wrangler 4xe is affected by two open NHTSA safety recalls: 25v-766 (engine casting sand contamination) and 25v-741 (hv battery separator damage). Both recalls involve serious safety risks including fire, sudden loss of propulsion, and catastrophic engine failure. In the official Jeep owner portal, both recalls show “remedy not available” and “parts not available. ” Jeep also instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings, indicating an active fire hazard. The vehicle cannot be repaired because no remedy exists. The dealer confirmed that repairs cannot be performed. I also experienced abnormal vibrations while driving, which Jeep documented under a separate case number. This issue remains unresolved as well. These defects place occupants and others at risk because the vehicle may lose power without warning or catch fire. Stellantis/fca has not provided any repair option or timeline. I am requesting NHTSA oversight due to the ongoing safety hazard and the lack of an available remedy.
I own a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: xxx) subject to recall 68c for the high-voltage battery. Jeep customer care advised me in writing not to charge the battery and not to park the vehicle inside or near structures, but could not define a safe distance or provide any specific measurable guidance. I live in a residential community where all parking is adjacent to homes, so these instructions are impossible to follow. Fca also stated they are unable to provide a loaner or alternative accommodation, even though their written guidance effectively removes the vehicle from normal home use. Additionally, fca repeatedly instructed me to bring the vehicle to a dealership to determine if it is “unsafe to drive,” despite confirming that no remedy exists and that dealers have no diagnostic test or inspection procedure that can detect or reduce the risk of thermal runaway associated with this recall. The dealership cannot change the risk until a remedy is available. I am requesting NHTSA review fca’s interim guidance for clarity and adequacy, as owners cannot comply with instructions that are vague, contradictory, and not operationally feasible in residential environments. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I have two open recalls on my 2024 Jeep a Wrangler. I’m afraid to drive the vehicle for fear of fire and Jeep stopping at any moment according to the recalls.
Every time the vehicle is filled with fuel it overfills and a large amount of fuel spills in the vehicle and ground. This is a safety concern which can lead to a fire unexpectedly. Upon inspection the fuel tank control valve has been found to be inoperative and can cause a fuel leak during a vehicle rollover event, debris in the fuel tank, and/or the ability to overfill the fuel tank during refueling. A fuel leak during a vehicle rollover event, in the presence of an ignition source, could cause a fire without warning and lead to death. The vehicle is not shown to have an outstanding recall though this year and model does have a recall for a limited number of the production.

Recall numbers: 25v-741 (battery fire risk), 25v-766 (engine casting contamination) summary of issue: I am filing this complaint because my vehicle is subject to two urgent safety recalls, including risk of fire when parked and catastrophic engine failure. Despite contact with Jeep and my dealership, remedies have not been provided in a timely manner. The recalls remain incomplete, and been advised only to park away from structures and refrain from charging — which is not a practical or safe long-term solution. Safety risk: the vehicle poses a fire hazard even when stationary. Engine contamination may lead to sudden propulsion loss, creating crash risk. These defects endanger both occupants and bystanders. Manufacturer response: fca us has acknowledged the recalls but has not provided remedies. Repairs not until 2026 impact on daily life: I am a caregiver for elderly parents [xxx] , [xxx] old) and rely on safe, reliable transportation. The inability to use this vehicle safely has disrupted caregiving responsibilities and created significant hardship. No longer driving Jeep , due to safety concerns for parents and family requested action: I ask NHTSA to investigate Jeep’s failure to provide timely remedies for these recalls and to ensure fca us complies with federal safety obligations. I also request that NHTSA track and escalate this issue given the urgent fire risk and potential for catastrophic engine failure Jeep currently at dealership (Nov 17, 2025)for recalls 68c/78c , plus Jeep dying while driving and jolting and taking off and exerting forward down the road. Previous repairs last year 2024 for engine light remaining on which dealership replaced charging module , then engine element , Jeep heated up garage for high temperature while charging and extremely hot to touch , these previous issues could all be related to these 2 recalls , so very concerned about my safety . Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My leased 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is included in recall #68c (NHTSA #25v741000) for a battery fire risk when parked. Jeep and NHTSA have both advised owners not to charge or park the vehicle near structures due to a potential fire hazard. This makes the vehicle unsafe and unusable under normal lease conditions. I contacted my leasing company, Chrysler capital, to request assistance because the vehicle cannot be safely used or parked. Their representatives repeatedly refused to escalate or document my case and stated that they “can’t do anything,” including refusing to provide a supervisor’s id or written confirmation. I feel unsafe keeping or driving the vehicle, and I believe I should not be charged lease fees or penalties while it is under this recall. I am requesting that this issue be investigated and that Jeep and Chrysler capital provide appropriate lease termination or safety accommodations.
Recall for electric battery packs in the electric Wrangler manufacture requires that we don't park the vehicle in our garage and we don't charge or use the electric battery this pretty much makes my vehicle unusable as I drive the electric motor and my only free parking space is inside my garage.
My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has multiple open safety recalls with no remedy available. These recalls include fire risk when parked, battery fire risk, loss of propulsion at highway speed, and engine failure due to contamination. The manufacturer warns owners to park away from buildings and avoid charging, which means the vehicle is unsafe to drive or store. We contacted stellantis and were told no fix exists. This is a serious safety hazard to my family and others. I have already opened a case with stellantis (case number #94748033) and was told there is currently no repair available.
I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe rubicon with approximately 23,000 miles. I recently received notice of recall 68c (high-voltage battery fire risk). Jeep’s instructions say not to charge the vehicle and to park it outdoors, away from structures, because of potential fire risk. The manufacturer has stated that no repair will be available until at least March 2026, leaving owners unable to safely use or charge their vehicles for months. This recall follows multiple previous recalls and investigations involving fire risk or electrical system failures on the Wrangler 4xe, including earlier campaigns related to the hybrid battery and software updates. The repeated safety issues raise concerns about the overall safety and reliability of this model. My vehicle is otherwise in excellent condition, but I can no longer use it as intended as a plug-in hybrid or safely park it in my garage. Jeep has not offered a timely fix, loaner vehicle, or buyback. I am reporting this because the ongoing risk of fire, coupled with repeated recalls and long repair delays, represents a serious safety hazard that deserves immediate NHTSA attention.

I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler rubicon x 4xe (jl phev). The vehicle is subject to safety recall 25v?741 (manufacturer recall 68c) for high?voltage battery fire risk, and also recall 78c affecting the 2. 0l engine. For recall 68c, Jeep and NHTSA instruct owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it outside and away from structures and other vehicles because the high?voltage battery could fail internally and start a fire, even when parked. This means I cannot safely park in my garage or charge at home. I have a [xxx] infant in the home, so any increased fire risk near the residence is especially concerning. Jeep has not yet provided a final remedy or a clear timeline for a fix for 68c, so this situation is indefinite. In practice, the vehicle now operates as a less?efficient gas?only vehicle, with reduced usable range, higher fuel costs, and loss of the plug?in electric function I paid for. I am also instructed to leave a potentially defective high?voltage battery pack on my property and outdoors, which feels unsafe for my family. In addition, recall 78c raises concerns about potential engine defects and possible fire risk or major engine damage, further impacting the safety and reliability of this vehicle. My dealer and the manufacturer have confirmed the recalls but so far have not provided a loaner, buy?back, or other adequate remedy, despite the “park outside / do not charge” safety instructions and the presence of an infant in the home. I am requesting that NHTSA closely review these recalls, the lack of an available remedy, and the real?world safety and hardship impact on owners who cannot safely park or charge their vehicles as originally intended. On top of this, I put about $10,000 down on the lease expecting to purchase the vehicle as a long?term phev. That down payment now feels like a sunk cost into a product that cannot be safely used as advertised, and the situation is starting to resemble a potential lemon?law case. I brought my vehicle into the dealership 11/15/2025 for the battery recall the dealership informed me Jeep has no fix for the vehicle and could be mid January 2026 this is unacceptable for this vehicle I cannot use as intended.
My Jeep 4xe is currently under 2 urgent fire recalls. 68c for the battery and 78c for the potential sand in the engine during production. There is currently no remedy available for either recall and the manufacturer is refusing to replace the parts or remedy the problem. Jeep is saying to take it to the dealership and the dealership is saying there is no test they can run and is pointing back at Jeep because Jeep hasn't given them a fix. I do have videos of the engine running extremely loud and clicking and instances where the cooling fan won't shut off for hours. I have not been parking in my garage and not charging the vehicle to reduce the risk as much as possible. I have had two instances where the propulsion suddenly stopped while driving, which is one of the warnings of the 78c recall. This is a safety risk for myself and my two young children who are in the car daily due to necessity, and Jeep is not offering any solutions to the problem at hand and my safety concerns.
Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe recall: 78c / NHTSA 25v-766 mileage: 6,975 miles location: California complaint: my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is under safety recall 78c (NHTSA 25v-766) for catastrophic engine failure, fire risk, and unexpected/unrecoverable loss of propulsion. The recall notice states that the engine may contain sand contamination from the casting process, which can cause sudden engine failure and a potential vehicle fire without warning. The biggest concern is that no remedy exists, and the manufacturer has stated the repair is “under development. ” this means I am driving (or parked with) a vehicle that may suddenly lose power or catch fire. This creates a major safety hazard for me, my passengers, and the public. My vehicle has only 6,975 miles and is well within warranty, yet neither Jeep nor the dealership can perform any repair to address this safety defect. I am requesting NHTSA intervention to ensure the manufacturer provides a remedy, loaner vehicle, or buyback for unsafe vehicles with no available repair. Thank you.
I have a cracked fuel line identical to the y10 recall but outside the recall dates.

Unknown ; I believe that my Jeep Wrangler 4xe in connection with recall : a7c/NHTSA 25v-710 created this safety hazard. Around the end of October / beginning of November my Jeep performed a software update like it does from time to time and within a few days the vehicle shut off completely without any prior warning. I was driving to work, luckily on a side street going 20 miles an hour pulling away from a stop sign and the vehicle just straight up dies. Lights, engine, electronics, power steering, everything was unresponsive. I managed to pull off of the roadway and had to attempt multiple times to restart the vehicle. After a minute or so of being in park, it started right up and kept driving. A few days later after limited use of the vehicle, there was a software update again and I assumed it was for that and kept using the vehicle. This experience put my life in danger as well as others. Should circumstances of my travel been different and this would have occurred on a freeway, the outcome could have been tragic for myself and others on the roadway. This experience together with the other 2 severe safety recalls with no remedy, have led me to feel so uncomfortable even having the vehicle in my possession due to a recommendation from fca, mopar, and the nhsta to (a. Not charge the vehicle to lower the chance of a tragic lithium ion battery fire that can occur during normal operation creating a hazard for all occupants including minor children, but also during the vehicle being parked. Leading to (b. A recommendation to not park the vehicle close to structures or other vehicles. Which in my situation is impossible at home and at work. And (c. The risk of the engine being contaminated with sand from the casting process which can lead to catastrophic engine failure, which can start a vehicle fire or cause an accident without prior warning. I will be dropping my Jeep off at a dealer until a fix is in play. No remedies available for either 3 major recalls.
Recall 68c recommends against charging, therefore impacting our fuel consumption negatively. This therefore is costing additional money to use this transportation. Also, it is nearly impossible to follow the recall guidelines for keeping away from structures and other vehicles. Some properties refuse this vehicle from being on their property.
This vehicle had multiple issues as a 1 year old vehicle. Shaking in the front end on the highway, leading to replacing front sway bar and dampeners. Now multiple fire hazard recalls for the battery and for engine while driving, charging, and just being parked. The vehicle has shut off while driving placing my life and others at risk in the road. No warning lights prior to any of these issues.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: 1c4rjxp62rw215946) has three active recalls with no available remedy. My vehicle has shut down three times while driving, exactly matching the safety defects described in recall 25v-710, which warns of sudden loss of propulsion. Recalls 25v-741 and 25v-766 warn of potential fire and catastrophic engine failure. Jeep/stellantis refused to provide a safe remedy or replacement without charging me. The car is unsafe to drive and unsafe to park near my home. Request NHTSA intervention.
My 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN 1c4rjxp63sw595577) is included in NHTSA recall 25v-741 (fca 68c) for a high-voltage battery defect that can cause a fire while parked. Jeep instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park outside, away from structures, because the defect may lead to thermal events even when the vehicle is off. As of today, the manufacturer states the remedy is “not yet available. ” this means the vehicle cannot be charged, stored in a garage, or used normally. I am a lessee still making payments on a vehicle that cannot be safely used. The lack of a remedy puts property and personal safety at risk. I am requesting NHTSA oversight to ensure fca/stellantis provides immediate relief such as a loaner vehicle or repurchase for owners and lessees affected by this recall.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has now been through three separate recalls for the same high-voltage battery fire risk, each time with the same “software flash” remedy instead of a permanent repair. Recall 24v-111 (04b, Feb 2024): software update to the battery management system (bms) to detect battery faults. Recall 24v-720 (95b, sept 2024): reissued for the same defect, again using only a software update. Recall 25v-741 (68c, oct 2025): a third campaign for the same issue, described once more as a “software flash followed by replacement if needed,” though parts are still unavailable. Each campaign cites potential separator damage inside the battery cells, which can lead to thermal events and fires. Despite multiple “fixes,” stellantis has never provided an actual hardware remedy or replacement plan. Owners continue to be told to park away from structures and avoid charging their vehicles. More than a year after the first battery recall, the manufacturer still cannot supply a permanent remedy, exceeding the “reasonable time” requirement under federal safety law. I am filing this complaint because repeated software-only updates have not corrected the defect and the vehicle remains at risk of fire. Nhtsa oversight is needed to ensure stellantis provides a true, lasting fix rather than another temporary software patch.
Vehicle randomly loses power mid acceleration- have been stuck in oncoming traffic multiple times. Usually happens when under electric power.
The vehicle suddenly has a check engine light appear on the dash with a display message “performance limited, service fuel system”. This issue effectively caused the vehicle to enter a “limp mode” while driving it and limited its speed while driving. This reduced the speed of the car while driving at highway speed. The dealer has stated the issue is a high pressure fuel pump issue and a control module issue.
On October 25th, 2025 my husband and I were driving home on the freeway. All of a sudden, without any warning notice or check engine light, my hybrid 2023 Jeep caught on fire as we were in it driving down the freeway. The fire started under the hood and under us. Flames were coming up the sides of the Jeep as we drove and were getting bigger then coming in the vents and under the hood. My husband pulled the Jeep over to the shoulder and we quickly got out and away from the Jeep and called 911 for help. Cars were still driving down the freeway as the Jeep was engulfed in flames. Our safety was put at high risk since we were driving on the freeway at highway speeds and the Jeep caught on fire without any warning and my husband and I were sitting inside the Jeep traveling while it was actively on fire and getting worse. We were located right by the fire as we were driving. It was under us, in front of us and growing around us. Others were put at risk because there was a large fire on the side of the freeway as other vehicles were driving by. A semi truck almost hit the median in the freeway when it probably noticed what was going on. Further, vehicles were driving in the right hand lane right beside the active fire. My Jeep was sparking, throwing flames and some things exploded. Jeep hybrids have had problems and my Jeep has had many recalls and problems. Stellantis was involved with the last few dealership service visits. The Jeep was not charging so a new charging system was put in it at the dealership. The Jeep had a red turtle come on as I was driving and it drastically slowed my speed down suddenly. I pulled over and then my Jeep turned off and would not start again for hours. The dealership, with stellantis involved, put in a new rechargeable battery. These were some of the things done recently prior to my Jeep catching on fire en route in addition to many recalls/updates. There were no warning signs at all prior to his Jeep fire.
I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [xxx] ). On 10/23/2025, while traveling about 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the dash displayed “put in park to drive. ” I had to coast through traffic, stop, shift to park, and fully restart to regain drive. Within minutes it recurred. This defect is unpredictable and dangerous. I regularly commute on the ohio turnpike at highway speeds and I cannot risk driving this vehicle because it can cut power without warning, leaving me unable to accelerate while surrounding traffic closes in. I am avoiding highway use entirely and limiting all driving due to the high risk of rear-end collision during a power loss. The vehicle is unsafe to operate until a permanent remedy exists. Background: the vehicle has previously exhibited powertrain/electrical issues (including overheating) and spent ~2. 5 weeks at the dealer over the summer. Early incidents occurred under 18,000 miles. Recall context: mopar and NHTSA show an open safety recall a7c / 25v-710 on my VIN for loss of motive power; status “remedy not yet available. ” the vehicle is available for inspection by NHTSA or the manufacturer. I can provide screenshots/video of the “put in park to drive” message and repair records upon request. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I just left my house and I was getting on the highway and the service 4 wheel drive light came on then all a sudden the car slowed down then it accelerated really fast so I pulled over and put it in park then when I tried to continue driving I put it in drive and it would not move. The engine ran but it would not move so I had to get it towed to the dealership.
The fuel pump relay that is embedded within the totally integrated power module (tipm) failed on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler jk unlimited after only 47391 miles, causing intermittent engine stalls and problems starting. When taken to the sisbarro deming, nm cdjr dealership for repair, there were no replacement tipms in the stock system available to fix my vehicle, despite my vehicle being only 7 years old. This suggests an abnormally high rate of failure if the manufacturer is unable to maintain an adequate stock to support their vehicles. Given this has been an issue with Jeeps of previous model years (1), it is evident the problem has not been addressed yet. . Read more...

I was driving the Jeep on route 35 in NJ when all of a sudden, the car lost power, jerked forward thrusting be towards the windshield. The "d" on the gear shift started blinking and the check engine light went on. The dashboard message indicated something along the lines that I had to put the car in parking "p". The car behind me beeped and almost rear ended me as it's a fast road and my car slowed dramatically and unexpectedly. Ultimately, I was able to glide into a parking lot on the side street and called the tow truck. The dealership said that a faulty ota was sent out which caused the issue and that it has happened to many people. There were no symptoms or warning lights prior to the event. The dealership updated the vehicle and said it was safe to drive but I am not convinced based on the experience of others, which I have read in forums, who have had the same thing happen multiple times even after having the dealership update installed. Apparently, this ota issue was widespread.
Due to a recent over the air update which impacted the hybrid system, the car would lose all power and require to stop the car completely and restart the vehicle. This is a known issue that has been acknowledged by Jeep/fca. After it occurred the first time, a check engine light came on and stayed in. The stalling event occurred approximately 5 times in a short trip with several of our small children in the vehicle. Luckily, we were driving on local roads with the ability to pull over without putting ourselves in danger, but cannot fathom how Jeep would put thousands of drivers at risk, especially if they were driving at high speeds or maneuvering.
Jeep Wrangler 4-door rubicon 4xe stalled/suffered complete loss of power while driving down the road. It took 3 shutdown/restarts to move the vehicle to a safe location. Since then, Jeep has issued 3 urgent unrepaired recalls. Oct NHTSA 25v-710 (drive train/loss of power - remedy not yet available), oct 25v-741 (flawed battery pack that may cause vehicle fire putting life and property at risk - remedy not yet available), and Nov 6: 25v-766 (engine potentially contaminated by sand casting potentially resulting in engine failure or unexpected loss of propulsion - remedy not available) as such, I have been deprived of a safe/reliable vehicle for 2 months.
