Vehicles steering gets a flighty/wandering feeling as speed increases 40+ mph, especially on secondary roads. When driving around curves or over any abnormality in the road the Jeep will wander out of its lane and then the play in the steering makes it difficult to get it back in a controlled manner. The constant wandering requires constant input from the operator to keep the vehicle centered. Jeep knows that there is an issue with the steering boxes in the 2018-2010 jl' and jt's, and has issued a TSB in reference to this, but getting them to replace the steering box is a huge hassle as it seems most dealerships are debunking this TSB.

Just got this Jeep used from Jeep dealership back in July. I usually don't drive over 60 because of the speed limits around here. But I just did when I went to go visit family 2 hours away and my steering wheel seemed to lock up when I went anywhere from 60/70mph. I had to jerk the steering wheel slightly to one side so I could drive on a bended portion of the road. It's not listed as a recall but this is seriously concerning to me. I thought it was just that one time but I test it out when I drove back home and the last 6 times I went to visit and the exact same thing happens every time. Most recent time it happened was yesterday and my uncle said to report it.
I was driving in the back roads at 30 mph and encountered a curve on the road. I turned my steering wheel lightly to the right and my Jeep would not go in the direction I needed it to. The steering locked up. I had it lock up many times this morning when I turned left or right. The temperature this morning was 35 degrees f. This is a cause for concern as our lives and those of others is at risk. A serious safety concern. This is the second issue I've had with this Jeep. I had the steering dampner changed because it was violently vibrating at high speeds on the highway. This jl model is junk.
Excessive shaking in steering wheel upon hitting slight road bumps (crack/pebble) not significant bumps occurring at speeds as low as 30mph occurs more frequently at highway speeds issue is more common if steering wheel is turned slightly to left shaking is excessive and vehicle control is lost at higher speeds. Only way to resolve is to slow abruptly to less than 40 mph. Vehicle has already undergone fcj recall fix of enhanced steering damper/stabilizer but issue is not resolved vehicle safety concern for this vehicle and any other vehicle near it when issue occurs issue has happened several times with as few as 3500 miles on the vehicle.
While operating the vehicle, I encountered severe tightness from the steering wheel. Disabling me to turn left or right, typically on the highway while accelerating. If I was to turn the vehicle's steering wheel for a slight curve or turn the vehicle would remain straight making the vehicle impossible to make the appropriate adjustment. Vehicle was pulled to safety for a reset ( turning off the engine for 5 mins before restarting). Upon accelerating the tightness of the steering wheel began, eventually causing the engine to stall.
While driving, especially on the highway, the steering has about an inch of play moving left or right where no change occurs to the tires. So I could driving and move the steering wheel to the left slightly and the tire doesnt move left. So when driving at highway speeds going through curves I tend to drift a bit due to this.
