When traveling at 70mph+, certain bumps will cause the steering wheel to shake violently. The wheel is impossible to hold on to. You have to show down to around 50mph to get the shake to go away. It was taken to the dealer and although I explained it has happened multiple times, they said they were unable to replicate it and therefore unable to make any repairs.

I have noticed at high speeds when I am driving and I go over a pot hole or even when I go over a rumble strip I get an aggressive steering wheel shake. Another issue would be the passenger visor it broke when my vehicle only had 36,600k miles. I hardly use the visor one day my passenger out the visor down to cover the sun from face and it just fell from the corner.

Steering wheel shakes back and forth at speeds between 35 mph to 80 mph after hitting a rough spot or washboard in the road. At highway speed it happens mostly when hitting bridge expansion joints.
Steering has extremely too much play. The vehicle veers everywhere at highway speeds. Steering wheel shakes violently if you hit a bump at highway speeds. Extremely dangerous.
Vehicle exhibits "Jeep death wobble". Frequent violent steering wheel vibration after Jeep hits a bump or uneven road conditions at highway speeds.
As I am driving at a normal speed all of a sudden my 2019 Jeep Wrangler will begin to shudder back and forth fiercely. The first time it happened on January 4, I thought I had a loose air flat tire. I stopped in the breakdown lane, got out and checked but there was nothing wrong. When I began driving again, the car drove fine. The next morning on January 5, the car did the same thing in almost the same are where ri 95 cuts off to ri295. The steering wheel started shaking for a good 50-100 feet before it stopped. I was alone both times. The 3rd time, I was taking my 29 year old daughter to the doctors in wakefield, ri and traveling on rt 1. All of a sudden the vehicle started shaking, it really scared my daughter who insisted we drive right to the dealership after her appointment. After her appointment and on the way to the dealership, it happened one more time. I walked into the dealership at paul bailey's in north kingstown. This is where I always go for my service on all my Jeeps. They were pleasant was always and I told them in had what I thought was the death rattle and he corrected me and said did I mean the death wobble? I made an appointment to go back January 18 to have them look at my car. I am concerned that this may be happening with all cars and may cause an accident. I only have 18000 miles on the car, it is still under warranty.
Steering wheel began shaking uncontrollably after hitting small bump on highway going 70 mph. Weather was below freezing. Had to pull over to shoulder and slow down in order to stop the shaking.
When driving over 65 mph the steering wheel begins shake very strongly - I had to lower the speed to 35 and then it stop - it happened few times.
Steering wheel began shaking violently on highway at 60mph. Had to slow down to stop the shaking. Issue happened again once I reached highway speed. No issues with tires found. Steering wanders under normal driving. Requires constant steering correction. Steering wheel pulls to the right during normal driving. Large dead spot in center of steering wheel. Dealer has the vehicle for the third time. Same issue.
At high speeds (65+mph) if the Jeep rolls over a rough patch on the highway the whole Jeep/steering wheel will shake violently until I let go of the gas. . .
Tl the contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, while getting on the highway the steering wheel began to shake aggressively slipping out of the driver's hands. The contact pulled over then eventually kept going. The failure recurred several hours later while using cruise control at approximately 90 mph. The contact slammed on the brake pedal until the vehicle stopped and then continued to drive. The failure recurred approximately 30 times. The contact took the vehicle to michiana Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat (120 w mckinley Ave, mishawaka, in 46545; (574) 807-0414) where a diagnostic was still pending. The contact referenced TSB: 08/074/20 regarding the electric hydraulic steering unit. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,200.
I was driving the service drive of a major freeway in detroit going about 30 mph. I was driving straight. . No turns. All of a sudden the steering wheel began to shake violently. I thought the front drivers side tire was falling off. I pulled to the side of the road and stopped the car. I drove home with no further issues.
Just purchased this vehicle and picked up on 2/14/20 and have experienced violent "death wobble". Called the dealership and they said it was from my lift that I just had installed. After a re-check, the place that did the lift stated there was nothing wrong with the lift. I continued to experience the wobble from that point on and till this day. Wobble will occur at any speed under 50 mph, however, I am able to slow down and eventually gain control of the vehicle if under that speed limits. Cannot control vehicle when engages in wobble over 50-55 mph. Took me into oncoming traffic on highway, no control of steering, braking was ineffective, steering wheel shaking violently and could not grip and I had to wait for the vehicle to come to a stop on its own (on the highway) in order for it to come out of that condition. Very dangerous and I am lucky that I was not killed that day. Since then, I do not drive over 50-55 miles per hour. It felt like the tires were going to detach from the vehicle and the vehicle was going to fall apart right there on the road. For the less aggressive wobbles that are experienced each time I drive, I do not feel comfortable having anybody in the vehicle with me because I am scared for their safety. I just brought to auto repair shop today and they said the steering stabilizer was worn out and needed replacement. I looked up a recall from June 2019 and it stated that this was completed for my vehicle. Appears this is going to be the 2nd replacement since June for the stabilizer.
Stabilizer control and throttle control light came on. Vehicle was taken in for repair. Vehicle was picked up and the steering felt light. As I'm driving on the highway I hit a bump and the steering wheel began to shake violently. I slowed down and it stopped. I called the dealership and explained what happened and I'm getting the run around. Claim it could be warp rotors. It's not warped rotors after I did some research. I found out this vehicle has what's called a death wobble.
While driving at speeds above 20 mph on the highway the car goes into a death wobble where it feels like the car is going to fall apart. The car shakes and the steering ability becomes unstable. The steering wheel shakes with the car and we need to get to the shoulder and stop. It happens randomly and at variable speeds. The dealer tries to appease us with fixes that do nothing to correct the problem. They claim that it is not dangerous and does not do anything to the effectiveness of the car. The car was purchased new a few months ago and it has been brought to the dealer three times for this issue without any fix (most recently December 24, 2019) where they changed out a steering damper based upon a recall. This did not correct the problem. Following that we were driving the car on vacation through the desert and the car went into a death wobble 10 times while on the highway. Upon returning home we contacted the dealer and informed them of these multiple episodes. The vehicle is going back in on January 6, 2020. At this point the car is unsafe to drive. We were not informed prior to our purchase about this dangerous issue with the Wrangler.
Death wobble- hit bump and steering wheel shakes uncontrollably ! extremely dangerous. I have replaced almost all suspension components-$1600 and it has happened 4 more times. There is nothing that I can do once it starts-almost got run over by a semi. It happens to allot of people. Check the internet.

While driving on the interstate at approximately 72 mph, I drove over a bridge and subsequently bumps in the road. The steering wheel started shaking violently from side to side causing an increase in vibration through out my Jeep and swerving on the road. Next time I was with my husband and it did it again at about 74 mph and he too agreed that something is wrong. He now fears for my safety in this vehicle as I drive a lot of miles.
2018 Wrangler jlu 23,000 miles. No modifications at all, had the steering stabilizer replaced by the dealer today for the third time. Steering shake began at about 12,000 miles, highway speeds hitting small pot hot, bump or expansion joint on a bridge. Steering would shake violently and make it very hard to control. Problem went away after steering stabilizer was replaced by selling dealer. Problem has returned and was brought back to same dealer for repairs. They said there was an open recall on the steering stabilizer that just came out and was to repair "death wobble" they were confident it was fixed. Road tested after and said it good to go. I drove it and it happened the very next day. I brought it back and they were not able to duplicate it but agreed to replace the recall part. Said maybe they got a defective one. Brought back to dealer today they installed another new updated steering stabilizer. The service manager an I went for a ride after the third steering stabilizer was installed. 62-68 mph small defect in the highway surface and the steering wheel shakes like crazy. In order to make it stop the jlu needs to be slowed down below 30 mph. . . . . . . . . . Not safe to do on the highway. This evening as I was driving on the highway the steering began to shake violently again. I tried to find a safe spot to slow down. I was almost hit from behind by an 18 wheeler. I tried to turn the wheel in an emergency maneuver to avoid being rear ended and the steering was not very responsive at all. It was uncontrollable and very unsafe. Myself and my kids were very shaken up. What needs to happen before this unsafe vehicle complaint is investigated??.
Steering wheel shakes violently after going over a minor bump or road roughness while driving at high speeds (55+) on the highway. It will sometimes correct itself and has not been too bad of a shake but over the weekend, I had to slow down from 70mph to 45mph in the middle of i95 b/c the steering wheel shook so bad and would not stop shaking until I slowed my speed down. This was as a result of going over a minor bump in the road. One time it happened while going around a curve in the highway and the "rumble strips" triggered it. This is a brand new car that I purchased in June. This wheel shaking just started a few weeks ago. Please look into this matter. It is unsafe and can cause an accident whether someone rear ends my vehicle while I am attempting to slow down or I lose control of my car b/c I cannot get the wheel shaking in control.
As I drove off the lot I noticed the instrument panel had a distortion on it. Dealership was unable to fix (after a software upgrade). More concerning is the car shakes violently when hitting a bump in the road. I took it in 3 times without resolution. Always on the highway, at first at high speeds, now even going below the speed limit. Sometimes it resolves on it's own, but lately I have to slow down or stop to make the shaking stop. (which is very dangerous when driving on a 65mph highway), the steering wheel shakes left to right and is very loose during these times. I feel very unsafe and it feels like the wheels are going to fall off. This is a brand new vehicle. It happened 5 times on a 15 mile trip to work this morning and has been happening since I bought the car in late February 2019.
Steering wanders so Jeep replaces track bar and steering stabilizer. Now Jeep Wrangler sahara jl 2018 steering wheel is shaking violently whenever I hit a joint or bump on the highway at speed. Scares the hell out of me and car was purchased for my 16 year old so I will now not allow her to drive as it is unsafe.
Steering wheel shake above 50 mph and death wobble making a hazard condition.
Steering damper recall was completed I'm still experiencing the "death wobble". Vehicle had been to dealership 6 times and get told every time that everything looks good. Problem occurs when I hit a bump or a rough spot on the road and the vehicle and steering wheel begin to shake like the vehicle is jumping on the road. Typically occurs when traveling over 50 mph and only corrects after you slow down. Issue continues to happen and and I feel the vehicle is unsafe and can pose a life threatening.
For months ongoing, at approximately 50 mph and again at 80 mph my steering wheel shakes and the whole vehicle vibrates. I do not have a lift kit on my vehicle nor any other suspension or steering modifications. I had a local Chrysler dealer inspect tie rods, ball joints, track bar, and steering stabilizer but was informed that all parts are in working order and do not need replacement/repair. My Jeep has 99k miles on it.

At 3800 miles my vehicle experienced violent steering wheel vibration. The dealership replaced the steering damper. Within weeks it started to occur again. I opened a case with Chrysler and the dealership and it appears the fix is replacing it with another aftermarket steering damper that isn't available till July. The frequency and severity of the wobble is increasing. This morning on a 20 minute commute it occurred twice. Once at 70mph and then once at 58mph exiting the highway. Turning the wheel to get of the exit was difficult and the vibration continued until I got the car down to 30mph. I call Chrysler again telling them I'm actually scared now to drive my vehicle on the highway and at this rate am risk for an accident and can't wait till July for repair.
While driving on the interstate around 65 to 70 mph, crossing over bridges or overpasses my steering wheel shakes uncontrollably until I slow down to about 15 mph. This has happened dozens of times the last time I almost sideswiped a tractor trailer. I've taken it to the dealership twice now and the uploaded a program that didnt do anything. I was told no recall yet but others are posting same issues in forums.
I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler jl and since I got the truck in July 2018, there has been at least 10 times during which I'm driving on the highway going over 50 miles per hour where I will hit a bump in the road and the steering wheel starts shaking violently. It happened 2 times today during a 2 hour drive. It can last for over a minute and I need to slow down considerably to get it to stop.
After about 2700 miles on the odometer our stock Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon with no aftermarket parts started to have very poor steering, and was hard to keep in our lane. It also started to have the steering wheel shake back and forth fast when hitting an expansion join in the road or a bridge. The Jeep is now difficult to keep in our lane, and is very difficult to drive on narrow, windy or roads with construction. We were almost in multiple accidents once this started on a road trip. This issue gets worse and worse with speed. You can grab the tie rods ends and track bar and other steering components and they all now have like 1/8 in of play at each end. You can easily shake them up and down / back and forth. This was not an issue for the first 2500 or so miles. This is a very dangerous situation as at times you have to slow down very fast due to the steering wheel shaking. Also, it veers from side to side due to the loose steering where you can move the steering wheel over 1 1/2 inches without the tires moving at all. I have videos of all these issues occurring, and you can also see the steering components moving when the steering wheel is turned before the play is out and the wheels move. We are now scared to drive our vehicle due to our safety and the safety of others on the road.
My vehicle has under 3000 miles. I have already taken it in once to see a dealer about this problem. When going 50mph or higher, after I hit a bump, my steer wheel will vibrate for a couple of seconds then stop. Twice now, after hitting a bump on the highway, going over 50 mph and surrounded by traffic, the steering wheel and the vehicle shook violently. The first time it lasted about 10 seconds. I immediately took to dealer and their paperwork says that the steering dampener was replaced. The second time just happened but luckily it only lasted 2 seconds. Both times it only stopped shaking after I slowed down under 50 mph while on a busy highway which has cars going 70 mph. This a major safety concern. I've been reading on forums and I'm not the only driver experiencing this. Please make this aware before someone gets injured or even killed due to this defect.
Vehicle steering wheel shakes from the slightest crack or imperfections in the road also wanders back and forth making it difficult to keep in lane.
There is a lot of play in the steering at normal speeds. Also while driving down the road minor bumps make the car jart in either direction and when larger bumps are hit the vehicles steering wheel shakes violently back and fourth until I slow down. My wife stated that she looked in her rearview mirror as I was following he and she said it looked like the wheels were wobbling . The car is currently in the shop waiting to be repaired. They said the steering dampner needed replace, but from what I read that will just mask the problem for now.
Steering feels loose and wanders at highway speeds. Had two alignments performed but did not fix the problem. Also when hitting a pothole or expansion joint at highway speeds, the steering wheel shakes violently and the car starts to wobble out of control. The only way to get control of the car is to brake and slow down.
Car has been in shop multiple times with multiple parts replacements to correct Jeep death wobble. Steering wheel shakes violently and driver loses control of steering when car hits bumps going over 55 mph. Replacement of steering dampner and track bar have only been temporary fixes and then problem starts all over again. The problem is particularly bad if you his a bump when there is slight curve in the road. All service documentation is uploaded below. Steering dampner and tire rod have been replaced three times since 2019 and it is currently not working again.
When driving at highway speed hit bump my truck shakes violently that I have to slam breaks just to get trunk under control this is known in the Jeep forums as the death shake the steering wheel shake along with entire truck . I have had my Wrangler serviced twice already and they put in steering damper in the first time and 1 month later it was doing it again then I brought it back and they replaced it again the damper was bad from factory not even a week later its doing it again,.
When driving at 60 mph on highway, and crossing over a bridge, the front of the Jeep, and steering wheel started shaking very badly. It seemed like the front end was going to fall apart. I had to slow down to about 35 mph for it to stop. The roads were clear, but it was below freezing out.
