Left front brake caliper not releasing. Replaced caliper and brake pads, problem still exist. After some research found that there has been an issue with brake line. Apparently the mounting bracket on the line has in some cases pinched the line restricting fluid flow causing brake to not release fully. Have seen multiple instances of this problem on line. Curious why Jeep has not addressed this issue? am currently waiting for new brake line to replace existing one to attempt to correct the problem. For reference I am a certified mechanic and this is my personal vehicle which is why I am preforming the repair myself.

Garavel Chrysler Jeep Dodge 300 westport Ave norwalk, CT 06851 Jeep Wrangler sahara 2015 06/12/2025-06/13/2025 & 06/192025 - chris riordan (service advisor) & rich morel (service manager) 203-845-8040 my daughter was driving the Jeep and noticed the brake pedal was intermittently sinking to the floor, she brought it to the dealership where chris riordan (service advisor) immediately diagnosed the common problem with the 2015 Jeep Wrangler of caliper freeze up and hose replacement. Knowing this issue they still let her drive the vehicle home with a known hazardous defect, the vehicle was dropped off for repair on 06/12/2025. Later in the day we were notified that the mechanic upon re-installing one of the caliper bolts broke off the head of one of the bolts and they had to order one and it would be installed 06/13/2025, my daughter was there in the morning to pick up the vehicle only to find out it was not ready and that it needed to be test driven not once but twice ?? my daughter then drove on the highway home to pick up two children she was babysitting ,while pulling up to a friend's house she was told there was a grinding and scraping noise coming from the front left rim, we then told her not to drive the vehicle. At that a friend's mechanic removed the wheel and found the bolt missing that was supposedly ordered and installed with two test drives, so the caliper was flopping around off the rotor putting my child's life in danger. Our mechanic renewed the bolt and properly bled the brakes that garavel’s mechanic failed to do also, what he also found was a front axle seal leak and a defective tie rod. Garavels service department failed at every possible level.

This is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler sahara, it is need of a new abs modulator. This part has not been available for quite some time almost over a year. This is a critical safety feature that needs to be addressed. Jeep dealer told me and also a local mechanic not to drive in wet conditions. I have taken it to 3 different mechanics, dealer, and two outside the dealer, none can get the part. I have a abs light on and traction control light on and a brake light on due to this part problem. Please help me in resolving this.
This is a common flaw with the abs brake system on many Chrysler fiat vehicles and Chrysler fiat is doing nothing. My Jeep abs computer module went bad . No damage, no off roading. Driving on highway and all the brake/abs/stability control lights lit up on my dash. The abs showed code “c2200” bad abs module and must replace. However Chrysler stopped making these …in back order for years. You have to either get a junk yard part or send your computer away to be refurbished. How can Chrysler be allowed to not have a critical safety part in stock…and not cover this in a lifetime warranty. ?? I’ve never had any other vehicle where the abs computer goes bad . This is insane. And dealer can’t locate the part in the USA because Chrysler doesn’t have them.

While driving I received random warnings on the dashboard: airbag failure, power steering failure, shift control failure, abs failure. After the flashing of all those warning, I lost the power steering and the ability to shift from drive to neutral. My inability to steer the car and loss of speed put my passengers and myself at risk and the safety of cars driving on the opposite lane at risk as I was able only to make very wide turns. I took the car to the dealer and after about two weeks the mechanic narrowed down the problem to a failure of the abs module and told me that that part is on backorder nation wide and may take over 3 months to come. I was advised to not drive the car or to drive at my own risk.

Brake failure referenced in case # 11667897. See attached photos for reference to affected areas.
The abs module was diagnosed as the cause of multiple warning lights appearing on the dashboard, including the abs light, parking brake light, and traction control light. According to an ase certified technician, the failure of the abs module disabled the antilock braking system as well as the cruise control feature. This issue resulted in loss of antilock braking function and reduced overall vehicle safety. The problem was identified and confirmed by a qualified technician. These warning lights first appeared prior to the failure being diagnosed. At this time, the original equipment manufacturer (oem) replacement part is on at least a three-month backorder.

Abs control module failure. The part is discontinued and no longer available. This makes my vehicle unsafe to drive for myself and others on the road. Thus, being unsafe to drive makes he vehicle useless!.
My abs module has failed. Should be a simple fix however Jeep does not have this part available to be purchased. After doing a lot of research into this part it is a mopar only part and there are thousands of people trying to find this part. This part is a vital part to the abs system and is causing a lot of people to have to drive without it. Something needs to be done to ensure the safety of everyone that is going through this issue.

The abs control module has failed (part number 68259556ad). I have discovered it has been unavailable from Chrysler/Jeep for over 2 years. I read where this is a dispute between Chrysler/Jeep and their supplier of the part. I feel it dangerous not to have my abs system, and it seems the manufacturer is doing nothing to make the part available. This needs to change.
No cause or incident. Abs module internal failure code c2200. Part is no longer manufactured and cannot drive vehicle without abs. This should be illegal as the car is only 9-10 years old, and cannot find a new working abs module. You should force Jeep/manufacture to make these available as I have no car!!!!! and cant afford a used/rental or new car.
Abs control module malfunction. Replacement part not available from dealership or 3rd party supplier, with item on continuous backorder. Abs and traction control lights permanently on whilst engine running. Potential safety concern across model nationwide?.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the air bag and brake warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became inoperable, and the brake pedal was firm. The contact used the parking brake to slow the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was sputtering and rattling abnormally. The vehicle was shifted into park. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to move for 30 minutes. The vehicle was restarted but was moving slowly and failed to exceed 5 mph while driving. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 129,143.
Abs module is failing (confirmed by repair shop) and needs replacement, and abs light had illuminated. After finding out the Dodge/Jeep has discontinued manufacture of this part that is in every 2012-2020 Wrangler, this poses a very serious safety concern as no replacement part is available. Possibility of purchasing a used one that ultimately will have the same result as the original one that was in the vehicle. A recall needs to be made before this becomes a major issue.
Calibers keep locking up making the brake system go bad. I had my calibers replace, which is weird because they almost never go bad. My Jeep has only 60k miles on it. Now I'm back at the dealership getting them replace 200 miles later. This needs to be inspected.
Both left and right brake hoses failed internally causing caliper to lock closed. About 2 months ago I noticed upon application of brakes vehicle would pull hard to the right and the left front caliper/rotor brake system remained locked causing overheating to the point on smoking. This was remedied with replacement of hose, caliper and pads. Recently the Jeep began pulling hard to the left upon braking, and the right caliper/rotor brake system were overheating due to the right brakes being stuck closed. Repair has not been completed as replacement parts from Chrysler are back ordered. I feel this is unsafe on multiple levels as it affects braking action including antilock brakes, causes premature wear on pads and rotors, and could create a situation where it affects wheel bearings and other nearby components.

May 14, 2025 dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara, which has only 60,000 miles and has already required several major repairs that raise serious safety concerns. To date, I have had to replace three brake calipers and the emergency brake, at a cost of over $2,500. The calipers were seizing, and the emergency brake would not release properly, both of which posed clear risks while driving. I understand through forums and peer discussions that other owners have faced similar issues. In addition, my vehicle now has an oil leak that will cost over $700 to repair, and the windshield washer fluid hose burst, requiring another replacement. These repeated failures on a relatively low-mileage vehicle suggest underlying quality and reliability issues. I believe these concerns warrant review, particularly the safety-related brake defects. I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate whether these failures are part of a broader pattern that may justify further scrutiny or a formal recall. Thank you for your attention.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the front of the vehicle while coming to a stop. The contact stated that while attempting to continue driving, the vehicle struggled to respond, because the wheels had seized. The contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed failures with the abs sensors and abs control module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

I have an abs control module internal failure, code c2200. There are no replacements available through dealer. Also, no shops to send module to for repair. My only option is ebay, where I have tried for replacement four times and cannot get the part number needed for my particular vehicle and year. The vehicle is not safe to commute to work, much less for traversing with my family inside.

I have been attempting to get part 68259556ad which is brake module for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I have been trying to get the part since Nov 2023. This is making multiple light stay on my dash and the cruise control isn't working. Every month they says that it will be next month.
Abs malfunction. Power steering and brakes go in and out of operation due to a communication error. All lights come on dash, engine light stays on. Occurs mainly when vehicle is hot during summer or above 65mph highway driving. Safety concern as vehicle power steering is unpredictable during this time. The drive shaft locks in park and requires manual override when lights are on, but then without intervention, all the lights go away except the engine light and it runs fine. Abs modules are on back order with no eta because this is a recurring problem for many. Once new abs module is put it, problem can be confirmed and more details can be given by auto repair services.
Intermittent indicator lights for abs, ebrake, and traction control. Code is indicating an issue with the abs control module. Dealer is saying that parts have been on back-order for years. This appears to be a very common issue with this Jeep style. I'm very surprised there has not been a recall on this yet!!.
Abs module/brake and traction light came on in 2021. Jeep dealership said abs module is on backorder. The Jeep at that time was still drivable. Now, may 2025, the abs module has caused so many items to fail that I can no longer drive it. It is currently at the dealership and they just called to say that the transmission and 0 mph is due to the abs module and it is still on backorder with no time frame for them to come in if they do at all. How can this be legal? I can't drive it and I can't sell it! it is my only car! it is dangerous to have this problem with no fix! what can I do?.
While driving in town the red warning lights came on (traction control, abs lights) vehicle would not shift when trying to accelerate, speedometer not working along with a few other issues. Mechanic said abs module needs to be replaced. Then he informed me that the part is not available for purchase and not being manufactured anymore. I now have a vehicle that is useless and not safe to drive. This is unacceptable customer service. Very disappointed in Jeep for not addressing this problem or offering an alternative solution. I can not afford to buy another car.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle slid before coming to a stop. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle with abs failure, and determined that the braking system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, who related the failure to the abs module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
Abs control module needs to be replaced and Jeep is no longer making them. Very unsafe!.
The abs, trac control & brake lights are all illuminated on the dashboard. I took it to have a professional check it out. It turns out the abs modulator is faulty, causing my Jeep to not have abs, or traction control. This is a safety hazard as the Jeep is not known for its great handling during any emergency braking situation. Here's the worst part. Jeep has known about this for over a year without any solutions to fix it. Why haven't they been held to the standards? didn't the government bale them out before? this is a serius safety feature and Jeep needs to do something about this, ASAP.
I have been told that my abs module needs to be replaced and that Jeep is no longer making these. I am on a waiting list with thousands of people. I am able to drive my Jeep, thankfully, but I am unable to use my cruise control. I don't know what damage this issue is causing to my Jeep; I've read others horror stories about their Jeeps just sitting in the driveway unusable and unsellable. This should not be the case. This should be a recall and Jeep or Chrysler should be made to rectify this situation.
The contact owned a 2020 Jeep Wrangler rubicon. The contact stated that the battery and engine lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that while driving up a hill at 30 mph, the vehicle became uncontrollable and went into oncoming traffic. The driver was depressing the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to stop and crashed into a Toyota tacoma and a Toyota corolla. The contact sustained an injury to her knee, and medical attention was provided. The airbags deployed. There were no reported fires. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a towing lot. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company.
My vehicle had a rough idling and then flashed an autostart symbol and stated on the dashboard that my autodash has been disabled. Later that day I drove my vehicle again, then the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree and every light was on and my car went limp. I pulled over on the side of the road and let my car stay off thinking it would help. Waited some time and tried to turn it on and it wouldnt turn back on until the 5th attempt. Took my vehicle to Jeep a few days later where they diagnosed it saying it needs a new abs control module. However, the control module is on back order with no eta in sight. There are multiple other people in my exact situation waiting 6+ months for their abs control module. My car is undriveable as it has no traction control, will go limp, and no abs system. I have been without my car for a month and they have not provided a loaner. To my research this has been an issue since September of 2023 and has yet to be a recall.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 30-35 mph, the abs and the traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that her husband was an independent mechanic and had used a scanner to diagnose the vehicle. The contact's husband determined that the abs pump module needed to be replaced. The local dealer and several unknown dealers were contacted and informed the contact that the part repair the vehicle had not been available for approximately two years. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the part had been discontinued. The failure mileage was approximately 50,300.
April 22, 2025 my 2008 Jeep lost power. There was a sequence, where one warning light was followed by another, followed by a complete loss of power. I charged the battery, car started up, I drove to dealer (a 5-minute trip), and by my arrival the Jeep had again lost all power. Dealer checked the vehicle, and told me the battery and charging system were fine, but the abs brake modulator was draining the power. They have not been able to get another modulator and the vehicle is still at the dealer (crown Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram dublin, OH). Losing power precipitously presents a safety hazard.
Cruise control was not working. The Jeep would also idle too fast when stopped but not get to the proper speed while driving. Abs brake light was on with code that rear wheel brake sensor was not working. Sensor was replaced but it still doesn't work. C. Harper Jeep garage in connellsville, PA says the abs module is bad and not supplying power to the wheel sensors. This part is supposedly on back order with no known time of availability. The fuel injector also needed replaced but not sure what caused that problem. Other 2017 Jeeps had recalls for electrical problems but seems that my VIN was not, maybe it should have been!.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the abs warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the abs control module. The vehicle was not repaired due to a lack of available parts. The contact was informed that the parts might not be available until 2026. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.
Brakes are sticking causing extreme heat and damage to pads, rotors and calipers and I'm afraid there is a fire hazard as well. The brake also occasionally engage during acceleration at around 45 mph and cause a severe wobble that could also be a safety issue as the vehicle becomes hard to control. Dealership claimed the problem was a single brake line that was replaced, but the problem is still occurring and now they claim it is a second brake line but my mechanic assures me it is a faulty abs module and the online reports indicate this is a real problem with Jeep Wranglers.
