Headon crash at 30plus mph and no airbag deployment. Second time a major component in front end has had a promblem. Steering locked so couldnt turn either direction. Insurance company says they have heard of this in the past. Friend at Jeep dealer where towed says looks like major coverup on chryslers part because of faulty equipment, but he will remain nameless unless otherwise needed. His opinion only.

After tolerating both problems for some time (poor starting and leaking power steering fluid), I took it in for repair estimates. My mechanic told me what the problems were and, that in his opinion, neither should be happening at the low miles I have on the vehicle. I am currently trying to get Chrysler to put more than a minimal portion into the repairs. No safety defect listed.
Steering gear box out of order. Yh.
Vehicle makes noise when shifting from second to third gear and from third to fourth. The noise is most prevalent when first shifted and disappears as the speed increases. It sounds like vibrating tin. Another noise occurs when slowing down, a whirling sound like a whistle. The noises are not random. They happen every time.
