Failure Date: 12/09/2024

VIN: [xxx] I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler that has 35k miles on it, very well taken care of and never off road. When I hit a bump my Jeep shakes really bad to where it feels as if will make me crash due to it becoming out of control. I'm reading online this is a common problem with this Jeep as described as (death wobble) a certified mechanic looked at my Jeep and found that I have loose tie rod ends and my drag link is loose? my question is with an almost new Jeep with not many miles on it is there a recall out with this issue? seems so many other Jeep owners are empiercing the same problem? what can I do to correct this? this is a manufacture problem, not mine and I shouldnt have to endure the repair bills thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. 3 Steering Linkages problem of the 2003 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/21/2006

In July 2005, after hitting a small bump in the highway, I experienced severe shaking of the front end of my 2003 Jeep Wrangler sahara at about 45-50 mph. The shaking stopped after slowing the vehicle to about 30-35 mph. I took the vehicle to the dealer (frank parra Jeep in irving, TX) for investigation and repair. I was informed by the service advisor, john ballard, that this problem occurs frequently in Jeeps and that it was due to the steering dampener. Frank parra replaced the steering dampener. The problem recurred in March 2006 and I again took the vehicle to the dealer. I was informed by the service advisor, timothy simpson, that the stock steering dampener was not strong enough to withstand the load imposed by the 30 in. Wheel group, which comes standard on the sahara model, and that I would need to purchase an upgraded steering dampener, the "rancho" model, but that it was not covered under the daimler Chrysler warranty. We thought we would try the stock steering dampener again. It failed on the drive home from the dealer. I filed a warranty claim with daimler Chrysler and checked to see if there were any safety recalls on the steering dampener. Daimler Chrysler denied my claim and said there were no recalls. The service representative told me that only NHTSA can authorize a recall. It seems that the steering dampener was not designed properly for the loads imposed by the standard wheel configuration and should be upgraded so that it is engineered properly. Although this has not caused any accidents or property damage, it could have an impact on the ability to control the vehicle in heavy traffic on the highway and raises the possibility of catastrophic failure. It should be investigated.

4 Steering Linkages problem of the 1997 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/15/2003

I bought my 1997 Jeep Wrangler in June, 2002 from a used car dealer in baltimore, MD with an as-is warranty and was told the vehicle had passed inspection and was in good condition. It had 64,000 miles on it and appeared to be good. Since then I have had nothing but problems with this Jeep. First the wiring harness, then the transmission, now a diagnosis to replace the intake and exhaust manifold, replaced fuel pump and has a faulty fuel gauge, and possibly the stabilizer bar or steering components. This Jeep is costing me more in repairs than the actual value of it. I fear that it is unsafe and that I m facing more expenses if I keep it, but I am still making payments on it. Do I have any recourse as far as lemon law protection, recalls, help!!! I don't know what to do with it.
