I was driving my car and came to a near stop. When I attempted to drive the car again the vehicle displayed a message to shift to park and then restart the vehicle. I did that and was able to drive another 30 miles home. The next day, I drove the car 20 miles to get an oil change. When I drove a mile away from the oil change location the car displayed a shift to park and restart message again. After that, I was able to drive the car 20 miles home. About an hour later, I drove 1/2 mile up the road and the car again displayed a shift to park message and restart as I was driving up to 50 mph on the highway. I was able to get the car home, but the message displayed again twice. The car shuts off if you do not follow the instructions so as I was driving up to 50 mph the car lost power creating a very dangerous driving scenario.

While driving the vehicle “shuts down “ and you can only coast and try to find somewhere to pull over. I had to avoid highways so that I had a place to pull over. Extremely dangerous.
Following a software update on 10/10/25, our vehicle can no longer be driven safely. Repeatedly loses power, power steering, etc. This issue is impacting thousands of Jeep owners nationwide. Please investigate and help resolve before people lose lives.
There was an over the air updated to something in the vehicle and now hybrid battery range is much lower. Also, have seen multiple complaints that the vehicle will not turn on or stalls while driving creating dangerous conditions on the road while driving. I have not attempted to drive on the road after seeing other complaints concerning this update. Vehicle was perfectly fine before update. This is completely unacceptable, essentially using drivers as test dummys for untested and unproven software updates.
As I was driving on the local road, the speed dropped to 0 mph and could not accelerate. The Jeep shuts down in the middle of road. Put it back in the park mode, restart, all lights including engine lights were on. Drove another 100 ft and stop again and repeat the whole process. I was luckily within 2 miles of my home and was able to drag this back to home in 20 minutes with 5-7 stops. The other cars were honking and flashing as I keep stopping every 200 ft with no warning. Not sure if this is software issue as a lot of people are posting on facebook and other Jeep forums of having same problem between Friday 10/10/2025 and now. I towed the car back to the dealership on 10/13/25 and have no vehicle to drive for now.
Car lit up while driving with multiple warnings, check traction control, check charging system, etc. Wouldn’t power off or drive or go into neutral. Had to tow. Stranded in dangerous area with no warning.
While driving at any rate of speed the vehicle would take over, shutting down driver control with a message on the dashboard saying to put vehicle in park. After pulling over to shut vehicle off, I would turn it back on, and was allowed to drive until this occurred again. A message would come up to service hybrid system.
Jeep pushed out an over-the-air update to uconnect on 10/10/25, which I installed. After installing the update, my car completely shut off in the middle of an intersection. I could have been killed. I restarted the cr, and it continued to do this every few minutes all the way home. I tried to call Jeep and they said they could not help me because the update came from stellantis. It was well documented and numerous other folks seem to be impacted [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My vehicle prompted me to update my uconnect software around 540pm last night as I went tminto class. Upon leaving class around 845pm, I expierenced a complete loss of power, many dash indicator lights came on, and the vehicle message appeared indicating the vehicle needed to be put into park. This all occurred while driving at about 40mph. I have never had any issues with the vehicle before this.
Update happened to uconnect on October 10th. The vehicle now shuts off every 1/2 mile. When this happens all power is lost and vehicle states to put bricked in park.
While driving the car just shit off. . Put it in park put my hazzards on and started the car back up. Put it to the test again while backing out of the driveway and it shut off while I’m reverse. The stereo has been glitching for about a couple of month where it constantly has to reboot while driving. It has now caused the issues for the whole car to just die while in motion. . This is I huge safety issue especially with younger kids. If I was on the highway when this would have happened who knows how much more fatal this could have been. I do a ton of highway driving and that’s all we have used the car for and for drive around our small town. I fear that even taking it to the dealership to get it fixed I am not sure I am comfortable in its after features it has. .
Driving on highway at 70 mph and I lose all power. Message says to shift to park. Jeep will not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed. Had to come to a complete stop, shift to park and luckily it drove for a few more miles to get me off the highway before getting killed. Multiple dash lights came on including check engine.
We’ve experienced multiple ongoing issues with this vehicle, and the dealership’s only suggestion so far has been to file a lemon law claim. Last month, the car began jerking excessively while driving typically at speeds between 35–45 mph. The best way to describe it is that it feels as though all the wheels lock up at once, causing a loud tire-screeching noise. It was a frightening experience. The dealership claimed to have resolved the issue with a “software update. ” however, just last night, my wife was stranded on the highway when the car suddenly started shutting down mid-drive, similar to what happens when a vehicle runs out of gas. The maximum speed she could reach was about 20 mph, and the check engine light came on. She switched from hybrid mode to esave (gas-only mode), which allowed her to get home safely. This morning, she tested it again. The check engine light was initially off, but after a short drive, it came back on and the vehicle started shutting down again. This Jeep is a lease, and despite being in the shop five times three of those for a full week the dealership continues to “service” it without providing a real solution. We are extremely concerned about the vehicle’s safety and reliability at this point.
I performed an over-the-air update on the car. When we got in to drive it about 10 minutes later, after driving for about 30 seconds, the car completely died. All the gages went haywire, it said traction control system needed service, the check engine light came on, and to shift to park to continue. Once shifted into park, the gear selected would lock. This happened while in the middle of the road and could have easily caused an accident. When you turned the car off, and back on, it would do the same thing again after about 30 seconds. This happened 3 times until I called stallantis service and waited for a tow truck. The car has been at the dealer since Friday night. They called me Saturday to tell me that there were no hybrid technicians on staff and I’d have to wait until Monday for more information.
Jeep pushed out an ota update for their uconnect system. Upon completion of this update, that occurred while I was driving, I lost control of my vehicle. My steering wheel locked up, all of the lights on my dashboard started flashing, and I was instructed to pull the Jeep over. I was unable to operate the vehicle and had to be towed.
After completing an update on the vehicle, I tried driving home and the vehicle started jerking and stopped accelerating in the middle of the road, luckily no cars close behind me but it could have ended badly.
Immediately after updating the uconnect software in my parking lot, I drove away and my Jeep lost power while driving. Engine shut off and said "shift to p to start. " had to shift to park and restart just to get moving again. Was barely able to get it to the dealership right afterwards and then it happened again while in motion. Happened again and again in the dealership parking lot.
Vehicle suddenly dropped in speed. Only able to go about 10 mph. Cel and received electronic stability control error. Was able to get car home and cel message eventually off. Drove it again but found that it would shut down about every 10 miles. Would have to stop the car, shut it off, then could drive it another 10 miles. And the cel did come back on.
In early October 2025 (specifically around October 10), Jeep/stellantis pushed an over-the-air (ota) software update via uconnect to 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe models. This update, intended for system improvements or recalls (e. G. , related to hybrid battery management or telematics), instead caused widespread failures in the vehicle's computer systems, particularly the telematics control module (tcm) and powertrain control module (pcm). After the update I experienced the following. - sudden loss of motive power while driving (e. G. , the vehicle shutting off mid-drive, refusing to accelerate, or entering limp mode). - check engine light (cel) illumination. - inability to shift gears or recognize transmission states, rendering the vehicle undrivable. - vehicle stalling multiple times in short distances, leading to to the need for a tow. In my instance I was on a two lane road with no shoulder and no way to drive my vehicle. I was able to move to a parking lot and wait for a tow.
On 10/10/25, an uconnect update appeared on info center console. I pressed the update now button and went into a store. After re-entering my vehicle, I drove one block and a message appeared on the dash that stated ‘service charging system’. At the same time as this message appeared while driving, the car abruptly shut down in traffic, nearly causing a collision with a vehicle behind me. After trying to restart for about 25 minutes, the car restarted and I was able to drive to my destination. On the morning of 10/11/25, I started to drive the vehicle to the mechanic. After about a minute of driving, the check engine light came on. Then about 2 minutes later, the vehicle abruptly shut down while driving, again nearly causing another collision. A message displayed to shift in park and restart. I followed these directions as I also made a call to the dealership to advise of this issue. The vehicle restarted and I was able to drive for another minute and vehicle shut down again while on the phone with the dealership. On the way to the mechanic, this issue happened several times more. Steering was also lost during this issue. Many complaints online are of this issue. Mechanic pulled codes as well.
Pulling into parking spot and lightly touched accelerator and Jeep launched over the curb and slammed into a metal door and concrete wall. Unexplainable reason for sudden acceleration and unable to break in time. Called dealership but they have had no other complaints. No vehicle has not been inspected damage is cosmetic. No system warning before it happened.
While pulling into parking lot Jeep suddenly accelerated deployed brakes it would not stop. Hit pillar in front of store. Did considerable damage to build and vehicle.

Abs module has failed and has shut off the cruse control system. The o. E. Module is on national back order with no idea of it availability. The unit is still in the vehicle. Non-a. B. S. Brakes work. How ever the traction control system is shut off as well as the cruse control system posing a greater risk to all. Search on several internet sites confirms that this issue has been noted to the manufacture with no resolution. Owners are left to find their own part and none are available.

Jeep 4xe loss of motive power. Was driving and warning came on to service charging system and lost all power while driving on freeway. Had to coast to a safe place to pull over. Screen told me to put vehicle in park. Put it in park, turned engine off, then turned it back on and it drove fine. Posted to Jeep 4xe group as this issue seems fairly common on there and they mentioned that you guys are looking into this issue and called it loss of motive power.

•the abs system has failed in this vehicle. The cruise control has also failed. According to research, these are related. Diagnostics show a 2200 code “anti-lock brake module internal”. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Internet research reveals that this is a very common failure with this vehicle. The parts are unavailable from Jeep/Chrysler and other suppliers. Module rebuilding services such as module master cannot even refurbish these modules since the chips are no longer available. This leaves many Jeep/Chrysler vehicles either inoperable or on the road without abs. •without abs, the safety of our family is at risk every time we drive since this important safety feature has failed and is irreparable. Anyone driving in the vicinity of any of these vehicles is also potentially at risk due to this system failure. •this problem is persistent and has been confirmed by advanced diagnostics (code 2200, see above). •the vehicle/abs system has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others besides my neighbor, who assisted with diagnostics. •we were alerted to the failure by dash warning lights- the brake, abs, and traction control lights are all illuminated. •in summary, this is a common failure for these Jeep/Chrysler vehicles which has been compounded by the manufacturer’s (and other’s) inability to provide repair parts to correct the failure. We respectfully request an investigation into this issue with a directive to the manufacturer to recall these vehicles.

While driving on a couple occasions the traction control light kicked in and wouldn’t allow me to turn I had to come to almost a complete stop, I thought it had gone away and a few days later I had a death wobble that occurred on a very busy hwy and had to pull into the middle lane to prevent an accident. I could not let go completely of the wheel but I also couldn’t really control the vehicle I had to stop it. I was not turning when this one happened I was going straight I had already turned and drove straight for a few minutes before it happened. I was able to drive a quarter of a mile to the auto repair shop where it is sitting. He told me himself it is very dangerous to drive it when that occurs.
I was traveling at 80mph on an interstate in the fast lane. There were only two lanes. Road was straight with a slight incline. Temperature was 98 degrees. I had been traveling for 10 hours that day. I hear the same bing chime the Jeep makes when it switches from electric to hybrid mode. I was already in hybrid mode and I experienced a lost of power. My vehicle started to coast which it never does because the regenerative breaks always slow me down. I noticed a message on my display but I could not read it as I used the momentum I had to reach the shoulder of the slow lane and coast to a stop. I put the car in park. The message was gone. A few seconds after putting the vehicle in park, it restarted and behaved normally again. This happened one day after being serviced at the dealer. I have all recalls completed including one that covers this issue. I took the Jeep in to be checked and they were unable to read codes or detect any issues.

Service antilock brake system. Service shifter. Service 4wd. Loss communication with mph. Abs light. Traction control. Power steering failing. Brake. Doors lock/unlock. Vehicle shut down while I was driving and locked me out completely. Replaced part no. 68321746aa-001 vehicle was taken to four auto shops. None were able to diagnosed the issue. Mopar shop wanted to charge over $1,600 to replace abs sensors and other items. I referred them to look at the part and was told it was not going to fix the issue. It did fix the issue. I have spent the last 2 months trying to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle and several funds later.

My 2013 Jeep Wrangler rubicon, has a non-functional horn and steering wheel controls, including cruise control and audio buttons, which stopped working in. I suspect a faulty clockspring, as these symptoms match issues in prior Jeep Wrangler recalls for 2007-2012 models (NHTSA campaign 11v528000), where clockspring failures also disabled horns and risked airbag malfunctions. My vehicle shows. This poses a safety risk, as the horn is critical for avoiding collisions. No repairs attempted yet, but similar complaints appear online from other 2013 Wrangler owners. Please investigate for a potential recall.

The instrument panel cluster that shows the speed, odometer, and fuel levels has been sporadically 'going out' while driving. On Friday 7/18, it went out completely and did not come back on. This affects safety of driving in that I have no idea how fast I'm driving or fuel levels. I have to rely on iphone capabilities for speed, which is not as accurate. The problem has been inspected by a mechanic and he indicated that the instrument panel cluster would need to be replaced at a cost of close to $2,000. He indicated that there was a recall on 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler models involving a safety issue with the ipc and that it may experience a short circuit and fail, potentially causing the display to go blank and hindering the driver's ability to see critical information like speed and warning lights. Recall# 24v652000 indicated this failure could increase the risk of a crash. Per the mechanic recall info was sent October 2024 yet I did not receive anything. Per the site my VIN# is not included in this recall. I believe this is the exact issue that other vehicles were called and this particular vehicle should be included in this ipc recall.
Abs module quit working, abs, brake, traction control warning lights came on. I then had no speedometer and transmission would not shift. Attempting to order a replacement part and have been told by every part dealer including mopar themselves that the abs module is unavailable with no estimated date for replenishment and has been for over a year.
This vehicle is not suitable for driving, it has suspension, alignment, brake and speed problems. I was about to have an accident, I was going down an avenue and suddenly the wheels stopped and the car began to move from one side to the other and I lost stability of the steering wheel and the car, putting my life and the lives of my family (my girlfriend and my mother) at risk, luckily I did not cause an accident because there was no car in the side lane . . . It is impossible to drive this car, the next day I took the car to a detailed inspection at a mechanical workshop specialized in Jeeps and indeed it has serious and serious problems with the car. There are images where the lights on the dashboard are on and the engine is also overheated . . . For this reason, I decided to return the car to the dealer and file the report as evidence of this defective car and dangers to driving . . .

? title: loss of power while driving on freeway – dangerous malfunction similar to recall 23v-116 complaint description: I am reporting a serious and dangerous malfunction with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler rubicon ecodiesel. While driving on a high-speed freeway (70–80 mph), all warning lights on the dashboard illuminated—including the check engine light—and the vehicle suddenly went into limp mode, resulting in a loss of power. This occurred in fast-moving traffic, putting me at immediate risk of a crash. This started happening again every time I got on the freeway for 10 minutes. I’ve owned this Jeep for about a year, have never taken it off-road, and have kept it properly maintained. All electrical components, fuses, and systems have been inspected, and no clear cause has been found. The problem persists and is clearly not due to driver use or negligence. This issue strongly resembles recall number 23v-116, which states that affected vehicles may experience a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. That recall was for 2021 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, the same model and year as mine. However, my VIN was not included, despite the fact that I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms described in the recall notice: “a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. ” this issue began occurring shortly after that recall was issued, and it has happened multiple times, mostly during highway driving—making the vehicle extremely unsafe. I believe my vehicle should have been included in recall 23v-116, as this is clearly a safety-related defect involving the powertrain or control module software. This is an urgent safety issue, and I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate why this VIN was excluded from the recall and consider expanding the recall to cover additional affected vehicles before someone gets seriously injured or worse. Vehicle information: •year: 2021 •make: Jeep •model: Wrangler rubicon ecodiesel •transmission: automatic.
Abs failing. Loss of traction control & possible brake failure. Vehicle manufacturer failing to provide parts.
