When I am driving I will lose power and not be able to drive while I am in the middle of a road driving. And I have to turn my car completely off to let it start back up. The dealership doesn’t not seem to have any more suggestions or recommendations. I feel unsafe driving this vehicle. This keeps happening.

On 6-22-26 at approximately 1035 am, I was traveling southbound on rte 140 in taunton. I was in the left lane, traveling at a speed of approximately 55 mph. The Jeep was in electric mode. I attempted to accelerate so that I could get around a tanker truck. I pressed down on the accelerator, but my speed only went up to 56 mph before slowly starting to come down. I pressed harder on the accelerator, but my speed continued to drop. There was a vehicle traveling close behind me that was clearly getting aggravated by my slow speed (posted 65mph zone). I came off the accelerator and moved into the right lane. At this point the gas engine finally came on and gave me additional acceleration power.
On [xxx] at approximately [xxx] pm I was at the intersection of [xxx] and [xxx]. When the light turned green I attempted to make a left turn. The Jeep was in e-save mode, but the gas engine was not on at the time. I stepped on the accelerator, but the vehicle moved very slowly through the turn, no matter how hard I pressed down on the accelerator (electric motor engaged at this time). I feared that I would get struck by other vehicles due to the very slow rate of speed. When I cleared the intersection, the gas motor finally turned on and supplied me with the required amount of acceleration. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
After the latest 68c recall fix, Jeep has adjusted the behavior of how the vehicle's electric mode operates. When the battery gets to a certain temperature when driving, the engine is supposed to turn on (to prevent the fire risk hazard). However, instead of the vehicle making the powertrain switch, the vehicle power will just stop. The pedal will go to the floor but no forward movement. It is dangerous in many driving situations, like the highway or among other vehicles when mine unexpectedly stops. Jeep has tried to fix this exact issue in 3 separate recalls, but it still occurs. They should buy back the vehicles as they seem to not be able to fix and they are not safe to drive.

On two separate occasions, documented with the dealership, while driving, the Jeep failed to accelerate and instead decelerated. On one occasion, this occurred while I was in a single lane on ramp merging onto a highway and reached approximately 45mph. On a separate occasion, I was just pulling out of my subdivision and reaching approximately 30-35 mph when the same issue occurred. Both times, I pulled the vehicle to the side of the road as best as possible, and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle often fails to turn off, as it should. The vehicle has also failed to turn on as it should. The center screen turned off for a full trip. There is only approximately 15k miles on this 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The dealership most recently had the vehicle for 6 days but could not replicate the problem in 30 miles and there were no stored error codes besides two related to the radio generated by the hvac module and the bcm module. An arbitrator found: although the customer had established proof of a nonconformity that could substantially impair the safety of the vehicle, I find that there have not been an unreasonable number of repair attempts nor days out of service. I have received three vehicle recalls warning of vehicle fire that have no known recall repair for months.

Unsure of the part or system that failed, however the auxiliary battery and power distribution system part was replaced previously and did not correct the problem. My safety was at risk when the speed and steering were affected. An independent service center worked on it and reproduced it. The car electronic system went through every warning light system while driving. "stop/start not ready", "engine light", "airbag light", "service electronic stability control", serv 4wd, abs, brake, "service airbag system", tire pressure monitoring, seatbelt light, "speed control messaging unavailable service required", and gas light all came on while driving. Speed was reduced and steering wheel locked up and released several times during the event.
The dash lights constantly indicate that the abs and traction control systems are activated. The vehicle is also producing code c1073, indicating that the abs control module must be replaced, however mopar does not have any replacements, new or rebuilt, available.

Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership.
Traction control, abs, and brake light all illuminated, then on 5/3/2026 while driving the speedometer quit completely. Replaced all 4 wheel speed sensors to see if it would help and nothing changed.
I was driving 70-75 mph on interstate xxx going south from [xxx] to [xxx] after picking up my friends. I had e-save mode on to save the battery for later and out of nowhere the car lost all power and would not accelerate. Some writing flashed across the screen telling me to pull over in the emergency lane and stop and then restart the Jeep in hybrid mode. I had to throw on my hazards and pray someone who wasn't paying attention didn't hit me while I was no longer accelerating and trying to change lanes to get into the emergency lane. One in the emergency lane I was able to shut off the Jeep and restart it but e-save mode was no longer available. I was able to resume driving but only in hybrid mode. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Shortly after my second time getting the battery looked at for the 4xe recall my vehicle was very sluggish from a stopped position with the pedal fully pressed. After 5-10 seconds the vehicle lunges forward aggressively as it goes from electric to gas mode.
"the vehicle exhibits a recurring loss of motive power (lmp) during low-speed maneuvers (intersections) and highway speeds (50+ mph). The failure is preceded by erratic instrument cluster behavior (gauge spikes) and results in a total loss of propulsion without prior warning. This defect persists despite the completion of recall zb7 and recall 68c. The dealership has duplicated the failure but refuses further repair, stating the vehicle is 'out of scope' for current remedies, placing the driver at high risk of a collision. " screenshots include: "written admission from Jeep dealership confirming duplicated loss of motive power and acceleration struggle following a software update. Dealer admits software is 'more sensitive' than previous versions but has no physical way to resolve the safety defect. " the manufacturer-authorized repair facility stating they want to release an unsafe vehicle back to me without a remedy. "there is nothing for any of us to do with your vehicle here at chapman" and tells you to contact Chrysler. The video screenshots that show the gauge spikes (rpm/oil needles jumping and dropping to zero).
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -after the 68c recall update for the hv battery failures, the vehicle has not been able to consistently maintain or provide power due to the limitation of the battery introduced as part of the recall. This is most noticeable driving in electric mode below 60% charge. The throttle behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable due to the recent updated how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -I was merging onto a controlled access highway and unable to accelerate after pulling into the travel lane from the merging lane due to the limitations of the battery power. The engine did not respond in time to provide power to the vehicle. The occurrence of the loss of power is unpredictable. Some times the electric battery and motor can provide the necessary power, and in others it does not respond to the throttle demand at the same state of charge with no indication of the issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -it has not yet has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -it has not were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -no warning lamps were provided.
I own a 2023 Jeep Wrangler rubicon 4xe (VIN: 1c4jjxr66pw627097). The instrument cluster/dashboard intermittently shuts off while driving, resulting in complete loss of speedometer, warning indicators, and critical driver information. This creates a significant safety hazard, as I am unable to monitor vehicle speed or receive warnings while the vehicle is in motion. In January 2026, I took the vehicle to the dealership for this same issue. The instrument cluster was repaired under warranty/customer satisfaction repair. However, the exact same problem has now returned. My vehicle is not currently included in recall 30b, but the symptoms are consistent with that recall involving instrument cluster failure. I am concerned that this defect may affect additional vehicles not currently covered. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and consider expanding recall 30b to include vehicles like mine. I have video evidence showing the dashboard shutting off while driving and will provide it as part of this complaint. Https://drive. Google. Com/drive/folders/1ab3nkolhpv66es_vrzsifkln83ezv5lc.
When running the vehicle in electric mode (and sometimes hybrid), there seems to be an issue with acceleration. When pressing the pedal, the vehicle begins to accelerate until it reaches around 50% power. Once that happens, it either barely accelerates or doesn't at all - even if you are pushing the gas pedal completely to the floor. After a short period of time, the engine kicks on to compensate, but there is of course a delay there and many times causes the vehicle to lurch forward. After taking my vehicle to the dealership twice for this, I was told that although stellantis is keeping quiet about this, during the 68c recall software flash fix stellantis installed something into the vehicles to essentially throttle the battery's power. They claim this is to avoid the battery from getting too hot. I was never notified that they would be completely altering the functionality of my vehicle and how it drives - which is inappropriate - and I believe this also poses a safety risk as the loss of propulsion/delay in acceleration and the lurching of the vehicle could cause an accident you're pulling out onto a road or are in traffic. Stellantis is claiming nothing was done to the vehicle and my dealership is now claiming it is functioning as intended, which makes sense because if they did make this change, it is technically running how they want it to. However, I have had this vehicle for nearly 2 years and it never drove like this before. I have also seen numerous posts and comments from other owners on the NHTSA website, reddit, facebook, and various Jeep forums mentioning they are having the exact same issues I am having, so I know it is not just my vehicle. This, along with the other recalls that still have no resolution is completely unacceptable and stellantis would rather gaslight us into believing our vehicles are fine instead of owning up to the truth - that they are not.
Pulled into parking space. Applied brakes and came to a complete stop. Could hear engine revving up. . Thought ok, that gas pedal seem to be pressed. Look at my foot wasn’t pressing the pedal. Looked at floor mats. It was laying flat on floor, not manipulating the pedal. I thought what’s happening? and lifted foot off brake ever so slightly and car jumped 6 inch high curb and hit the building. . Pretty hard. Caused structural damage to the wall. I went to the hospital, driven by husband. Swelling of my right leg on the shin. Released and told to stay off leg for few days, no fractures. After doing research, it seems other Jeep riders have had this experience. I have no idea how fast the Jeep was going.

Following 2nd battery recall, acceleration, especially with the electric on, is sluggish and then suddenly electric fails and gas engine kicks in with a lurch. Electric no longer has the power it did prior to the recall and this provides uncertain acceleration for entering freeway from onramps or during other periods of needed acceleration.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30-45 mph, the vehicle lost power. On another occasion, while driving at 20 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. While shifting into gear, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The check engine warning light illuminated after the failure. The driver was able to pull over safely. The vehicle was running, and the heat was functioning. The vehicle was towed to a aaa service center, where the filter and oil were changed; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to aaa again, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

After 68c recall vehicle on electric mode looses complete power “maximum throttle input”uphill for roughly 5-10 seconds until gas engine kicks in to support. On 2 drives after getting the vehicle back I almost got rear ended by an 18 wheeler both times.
Following a manufacturer over-the-air (ota) software update released in fall 2025 and subsequent completion of safety recall 68c, my vehicle exhibits new and dangerous driving behavior that did not exist prior to these updates. While operating in electric mode, the vehicle can unexpectedly lose power during acceleration, including at roadway speeds and while climbing hills, creating a risk of sudden deceleration in traffic. Under electric operation, the vehicle accelerates normally up to approximately 45 mph. Beyond that point, electric power output progressively decreases even as accelerator input is maintained or increased. Vehicle speed can decline while the accelerator is further depressed, and the electric power indicator visibly drops. This often results in abrupt internal combustion engine (ice) engagement, aggressive downshifting, and sudden acceleration. This loss-and-surge behavior is unpredictable and hazardous, particularly in traffic or on inclines. Prior to the ota update and recall action, the vehicle provided consistent electric power well beyond 45 mph, and ice engagement was smooth and nearly imperceptible. I consistently achieved approximately 22–23 miles of electric range on the same daily route. Post-update and post-recall, usable electric range has been reduced to approximately 14–15 miles under similar conditions, regardless of weather. The issue also occurs at low speeds, including complete loss of electric momentum while climbing hills, followed by harsh ice engagement that can cause wheel spin. This behavior raises safety concerns related to power loss and unexpected acceleration. Based on the timing and nature of these changes, I am concerned that software updates may be intentionally limiting battery power output and usable capacity to reduce stress on potentially defective high-voltage batteries rather than correcting the underlying hardware defect. This materially alters vehicle performance and safety and requires investigation.
Two issues. The first involves shaking and veering which continues since the purchase and this is the fourth time I have had concerns with this. Vehicle it shakes at any speed and violently if I dont let up off the gas. The second issue occured while driving on the 5 freeway with the speed control on and suddenly there was a loud boom thud sound behind the front seet like running over a tire or something, the vehicle began to slow I applie gas and noticed the panel radio etc all working but a message appeared to stop or pull over and park and restart; however when I looked down to see if was in gear and it was in d and blinking like it does in park assist. The screen also ramdomly swithche the view. Vehicle is currently in the dealership.
After having the 68c recall software update completed on my Jeep at an authorized dealership, I now experience sluggish and decreased acceleration (even deceleration) upon pressing the accelerator more than half way (approximately). This happened twice on hills in which I needed to increase power while in electric mode. What happened was the Jeep seemed to lose power and decrease in speed while trying to go up the hill. I continued pressing the accelerator farther down and the Jeep seemed to be even more sluggish until all of a sudden the combustion engine kicked in at a very intense level and high rpm, lurching be forward, almost into the back of another vehicle. The sudden decrease in power to an even more sudden and drastic (sharp) increase felt dangerous.
Instrument cluster panel and all warning lights, fuel gage, speedometer, tire pressure, temperature sensor, etc. As well as all info on app unable to access. No warning lights which could cause crash without prior warning. Controls and displays failed to illuminate and were not visible. Unable to see in daylight or at night. Dealer verified internal failure in ipc, would not repair under recall, said was outside of warranty.
Driving around town and the car just dies on me. I had my kids with me in the car this time when it happened. This is now getting scary when my car is my daily driver and I should not have to worry if I have my kids in the car when I drive it and it just dies. If my kids get hurt due to an accident from this dang recall that is taking months to get any remedy I should be able to get out of my lease with my Jeep. If my kids get hurt in any way with this damn recall it my car catches fire with my kids in the back seat. I am coming full force with lawyers. . Something needs to happen soon before my kids get hurt because Jeep does not care about the safety of their customers. Their apology is a $100 gift card. . They need to just take them off the market and get anyone one out of their leases without any penalties. . If they do not make it right they will loose a long time customer. .
Lost all power to vehicle after driving for approximately 40 minutes, around 60-70 mph. I was driving on the highway and then lost all power. I was able to pull off of the interstate and got a few blinking messages. The only one I remember was "shift to p to start". I could not accelerate at all and probably had less than a minute to get to safety before the car coasted to a stop and I was forced to put the car in park and turn it back on. It seemed like a forced restart on a computer but you could not choose the time or place to do it and there was very little warning. This is a huge safety issue!.
The Jeep lost power while I was driving. The lights stayed on but Jeep came to a stop. I touched the key area and it started running again.

While driving at approximately 70 miles per hour, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and felt as though the engine was going to shut off. This created an immediate safety hazard and forced me to pull over to the side of the road. Despite feeling unsafe, I continued driving directly to the dealership to have the vehicle inspected due to an engine warning light related to the fuel system. The vehicle has only been serviced and inspected by the dealership. I was informed that there is currently no available remedy for recall 78c. With the recall unresolved, the vehicle continues to pose a significant safety risk. The potential for engine failure while driving at highway speeds places me, my passengers, other motorists, and nearby property in danger. Due to these conditions, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate or park until the recall issue is properly resolved.
Klamath falls Dodge dealership and stellantis have failed to repair the defects cited in the a7c, 68c and 78c. My vehicle is subject to sudden stops and sudden fires. The vehicle has been at the dealership since 12/28/2025. I filed a claim online and with certified mail with stellantis. No action has been taken to correct the defects and the vehicle can't be driven in a safe manner.

On 11/7/25 I brought my Jeep Wrangler 4xe for the two active recalls and an oil change. The battery recall could not be done. The motive power was supposedly fixed. Since then there has been a new problem. The Jeep gets to the point of stall (like the motive power issue) however right before the stall it surges. This really caught me off guard the first few times and I barely avoided three accidents. Now I know when it feels like it is going to stall to be prepared to slam on the breaks. However this is not really a good situation they really need to do a full recall to fix this thing. I noticed you gave an open investigation and I think it is a separate issue from the loss of motive power issue and I think the fix for the motive power problem has exacerbated this problem of lurching/surging that I have told my dealer about no fewer than three times. The most recent almost stall and surge happened this morning as I was merging into a rotary and again because of that surge I almost lost control of the vehicle.
Vehicle was in reverse on an incline, in a driveway. The throttle was unresponsive and the vehicle began to roll forward down hill. After a few moments and, without warning, the throttle suddenly jumped to near full response, quickly accelerating the vehicle in reverse, and it was necessary to slam on the brakes. This behavior of extremely low throttle response for an unpredictable duration, followed by extremely high throttle response, has happened at least 5 or 6 times. This has happened in forward as well as in reverse. The timing of this is problem is unpredictable and the dealer informed me they can't do anything about the problem if they cant' reproduce it.
I was pulling into a parking spot outside of a costco and suddenly the car began to accelerate uncontrollably, and I couldn't stop the car. It ended up hitting the car in front of me, pushing it out of the spot and then hit the car next to us. Fortunately, there was no one in any of the cars hit but the entire experience was completely terrifying, and someone could have been seriously injured. The police were called and there was a police report filed. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance company since it just occurred yesterday and the police said that the report wouldn't be ready for 3-5 business days. We also contacted the dealership where we purchased the vehicle, and they advised us to contact Jeep's customer service.
While attempting to make a right turn, the accelerator would not move. This happened again when attempting to merge on the highway. This almost caused a car to run into my side when turning, and a car had to avoid me on the highway when merging. I was trying to press the gas pedal, and it would not move. This is not a mechanical issue. It is a design flaw. The gas pedal allows you to depress on the pivot point, which does not move the throttle cable. I have this video recorded and can demonstrate to any fca/stellantis oem product safety officer or odi representative.
My vehicle currently has two active manufacturer recalls involving potential fire risk and the possibility of bodily harm. These recalls have been acknowledged by Jeep/stellantis; however, no effective remedy or repair has been provided to date. Despite the seriousness of these safety risks, Jeep customer care has offered no interim solution, no loaner or replacement vehicle, and no alternative transportation while the recalls remain unresolved. As a result, my family and I are placed in an unacceptable position of either continuing to operate a vehicle with known safety hazards or being left without safe transportation. Jeep has failed to provide a reasonable safety remedy after acknowledging these defects. In my view, this represents a failure to adequately protect consumers once a safety risk has been identified. I am submitting this complaint to document the risk and the manufacturer’s lack of action.
