Tipm is creating a major safety issue with my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. On multiple occasions, the headlights fail to work on my vehicle on start up or once the vehicle is in operation. The dealership looked at the Jeep and stated the tipm module was bad and needed to be replaced. The part was indefinitely on backorder from Jeep, and could not even be replaced if it were under warranty. Driving this vehicle that is under 2 years old and has a major safety issue is unacceptable. This appears to be a wide spread issue for a number of years with the tipm module on Jeep / Chrysler vehicles. This will happen to someone while driving at night without their knowledge, and create a deadly event. Would like to see Chrysler take responsibility for this dangerous situation and correct the issue to protect the safety of the missions of people driving their vehicles.

A/c-heater fan control switch burns out every 2 to 4 years. I am the original owner of a 99 Jeep tj Wrangler. I have replaced the fan control switch 4 times now. Each time the pigtail has fried as well and needed replacing. First time dealer replaced under warranty. Second, third and fourth time I paid to have it replaced. After 3rd time I wrote to Chrysler and explained and showed all dealer repair paper work and they reimbursed with check for one repair. Dealer gave me a credit on an additional repair. This last (4th) repair I found out that Chrysler knows about the issue, and has reduced the price of the replacement part by half. I was told to expect this to be a normal repair every 2 to 4 years for as long as I have the vehicle. I was told for a few model years they have constant power to the fan and this eventually leads to a burn out. Sometimes causing more damage if the flareup is big. Chrysler won't do any more reimb. And no plans to fix model years affected. Bummer!! repair dates: 7/2000; 8/2002; 9/2004;8/2008
part number: 55037473ab.

Rear plastic window cracked in cold weather. Told by dealer that this is a common problem and plastic windows cannot be touched in cold weather. Nothing in the owner's manual states this policy. Dealer advised not to remove snow/ice, brush window, touch window, or contact window with water in cold weather. Dealer employee stated that they will not touch a plastic window unless they warm the plastic up first. Jeep will not replace under warranty, stating environmental factors. Possible safety hazard in not being able to wash vehicle in cold weather or remove snow/ice. This leaves no visibility out of rear window.

When driving on ice or snow the 4-wheel drive kicks out, causing vehicle to jerk and potentially slid. No impact had been reported. The vehicle was in motion when it felt as if the transmission dropped out. The vehicle had to be stopped to get back into 4wd. The lever was held tightly and popped out again. The vehicle was driven in 2wd for several miles then was able to be placed back into 4wd and stayed. Also, the upholstery had started to tear on the driver's seat and the gaskets on both mirrors deteriorated.
