1 Wiper problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/27/2025

A small rock hit my gorilla glass windshield putting a extremely small nick the size of the tip of a ball point pen. You can't even see the extremely small nick on a camera. But the windshield instantly cracked and continues to crack from this tiny nick. Is has cracked over half the windshield and can be felt on the inside as well. Now I'm stuck paying a ton of money and my insurance rates going up monthly to replace a faulty windshield that mopar knows is faulty and there have been several complaints and even a lawsuit over the windshield.

Turned on ignition and wipers and headlights turned on with no control, car ignition beeped constantly, all dash lights illuminated, all gauges stopped working (speedometer, fuel, tachometer, temperature) and there was a clicking noise on the transmission. Had to drive home hoping my electrical system wouldn’t shut down while driving home. Narrowed down to faulty tipm.

4 Wiper problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/14/2025

May 14, 2025 dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara, which has only 60,000 miles and has already required several major repairs that raise serious safety concerns. To date, I have had to replace three brake calipers and the emergency brake, at a cost of over $2,500. The calipers were seizing, and the emergency brake would not release properly, both of which posed clear risks while driving. I understand through forums and peer discussions that other owners have faced similar issues. In addition, my vehicle now has an oil leak that will cost over $700 to repair, and the windshield washer fluid hose burst, requiring another replacement. These repeated failures on a relatively low-mileage vehicle suggest underlying quality and reliability issues. I believe these concerns warrant review, particularly the safety-related brake defects. I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate whether these failures are part of a broader pattern that may justify further scrutiny or a formal recall. Thank you for your attention.

5 Wiper problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/18/2025

Wipers immediately stopped working during heavy snow and rain mix. After spending a lot of money and time trying to repair they still did not work. All fuses and wires as well as wiper arms were inspected, the wiper motor and multifunction swith were replaced, my battery was replaced and no wipers. After verifying electrical circuits and power to the wiper motor, it was determined to be an issue in the tipm, apparently a frequent issue with Jeep vehicles. This is a dangerous issue that can cause accidents and certainly does not allow a vehicle to pass a state safety inspection, as in my case. This is an expensive repair that Jeep should be responsible for bt recalling these units on the Wranglers that are so often affected!.

8 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/14/2025

While driving the drivers side sun visor just fell down from the pivot point blocking my vision while in heavy traffic. The passenger side had done the same thing a few months prior. From looking at the Jeep forums, you tube and amazon and ebay it is a common problem on the Jeep Wrangler jl product line. I had to purchase a clip or aftermarket bracket to hold the close to 200 dollar sun visor from falling out. These brackets are rather cheap and inexpensive. This is so common and is a huge safety risk. The problem is that the pivot part that mounts the visor into the roof clamp or holding piece is of cheap thin plastic that breaks easily. The other small part that holds it in fails often as well. It is so common that the amount of vendors on amazon and ebay that offer a cheap part to hold it up is huge. Having something that falls into your vision is totally unacceptable and needs to be addressed ASAP/ thank you for your help!.

9 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/07/2025

1. Transmission lags about 2 to 3 secs when trying to accelerate from a stop, or almost complete stop. This happens often. 2. Both sun visors just fall down when driving down the road. Design is poor. They are only attached by an internal cable. This happens often.

10 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/01/2024

Complaint regarding recall 24v720000 – Jeep Wrangler 4xe (2023 model) I am filing this complaint regarding the recall of my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: 1c4jjxr64pw579177- under recall number 24v720000, issued due to a potential fire risk. This defect represents a severe safety hazard that jeopardizes the safety of my family, property, and others. Details of the issue: the recall was issued due to a defect in the hybrid powertrain that could result in a fire, even when the vehicle is parked and turned off. Jeep/stellantis has advised owners •refrain from charging the vehicle. •park it away from structures and other vehicles. This advisory alone highlights the gravity of the issue, rendering the vehicle unsafe to use as intended. Steps taken to remedy: •I have contacted my dealership and stellantis to schedule a repair; however, no remedy has been made available to date. •it has become clear that stellantis is unable to provide a timely or effective solution to fix this safety-critical defect. Lemon law qualification: California lemon law, under the song-beverly consumer warranty act, provides protections for substantial defects that impair the use, value, or safety of a vehicle. The following criteria are met: 1. Substantial safety defect: a fire risk qualifies as a substantial defect that threatens the safety of occupants and property. 2. Reasonable repair attempts: despite the recall, stellantis has not resolved the issue, and the vehicle remains unusable for its intended purpose. 3. Unresolved issue: my vehicle has been effectively out of service due to safety concerns, and stellantis has been unable to provide a timeline for resolution. Request for buyback: given the seriousness of this defect and the inability to remedy it, I am requesting that stellantis initiate a buyback under California lemon law. A fire risk is not an issue to delay or hope for a fix—it demands immediate resolution. I have kept detailed records of all communication.

11 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/25/2024

Windshield developed a crack with no impact. Windshield was normal on a morning errand, then noticed on an afternoon impact. Took dealership and they took pictures, and they did not find any evidence of impact, but refuse to repair under warranty.

12 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/10/2024

While driving at highway speed needed to use the visor as my vision was lost rounding a curve into direct sunlight. Upon pulling visor down it detached from mount (now another total distraction as it was hanging while driving in highway traffic. ) very dangerous! when I researched I found many that have had the same issue.

13 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/22/2024

Windshield has cracked multiple times (multiple windshields) in the center, bottom of the glass, spontaneously. Both event were in cold weather. There were no chips or impacts to the windshield.

14 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/02/2024

Both the driver side and passenger side sun visors became disconnected from the Jeep making it impossible for it to be folded up or placed into position. I had to purchase aftermarket adaptors to fix this problem.

15 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/19/2024

There is a confirmed recall 92a for the gear position sensor on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler. I took it to river oaks dealership in houston to have the recall work done in March 2024. They told me the work was complete; I returned to pick up my vehicle and found out the work had not been done because they didn't have the parts, so I took my vehicle home. I'm now told that they actually ordered the parts for the recall without telling me, and I was never informed that the parts arrived at the dealership or were going to be returned after that. I have now brought my vehicle to a different dealership (helfman in houston) for a repair and to have that recall fixed. They are unable to order the parts from Jeep to fix the recall, because river oaks had previously ordered them under my VIN and have most likely returned them. No one at river oaks is willing to help in any way. The recall manager says I should have known that they received the parts in stock after I left without any kind of notification, and the parts managers won't answer or return my calls. Jeep corporate has stated that they cannot cancel the previous parts order, but that river oaks can cancel the previous order so that helfman can put in a new one with my VIN. River oaks has denied this. At this point, I cannot get a mandated safety recall fixed on my Jeep because of the previous and ongoing actions of river oaks dealership. My options are apparently to leave it at the dealership indefinitely or take it back with a safety malfunction.

16 Wiper problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/16/2024

Driving on the expressway and a rock from a vehicle in front of me hit the top right corner of the windshield causing small pieces of glass to scatter on the inside of the vehicle.

17 Wiper problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Who’s driving down the road the sun visor dropped down nearly causing me to crash due to not being able to see with the visor hanging in the way.

18 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/07/2024

We have had this Jeep for a couple of years and it has less than 30k miles on it. Initially, the visor on the passenger side would drop out and just hang. This happened pretty much after we got it but just thought this was a feature of the Jeep modularity so we would just push it back in. Now this started happening on driver side and I see this as a safety issue as this can obscure vision at the wrong time. I went to dealer/manufacturer(Jeep) and they do not see this as a defect worthy of replacing outside of their standard 3 year warranty. I had purchased an extended warranty from the dealer from mastertech and they would not cover it either. This issue appears to be common defect in manufacturing design over several years over several lines of Jeep versions and I am shocked that something like this that could theoretically impair line of site for the driver while driving has not been addressed by Jeep. I am equally shocked that NHTSA has not pursued and or forced a safety recall for this. I have never had a car drop its visor and with this Jeep both visors do this for a vehicle that gets very little use(under 30k miles).

19 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/03/2024

Sun visor just fell off the hinge as I attempted to lower it.

20 Wiper problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/24/2024

Hvac defogger recall has never been repaired! air flow would not clear visibility when driving there is a recall on hvac defogger system and also an update within the vehicle itself computer system on my vehicle. I was researching this recall when I accidentally tapped onto this issue being completed while I was on credit karma, accidental tapping thst I’d done this repair when I had not! I believe by me doing this it took my personal vehicle off the list …I was trying to research everything about this recall and I hit that as repaired by accident when I never had this issue repaired! I was driving when I needed this hvac defogger to work, in south texas. The hvac defogger system did not work at all! I was close to 3 accidents and I drove over a curb due to zero visibility at that time!.

21 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

The sun visors break off and fall down, obscuring view of the road ahead. This happened on both sides after two years of ownership, was replaced under warranty, then broke apart two years later out of warranty. The dealership demands hundreds of dollars to fix per visor. For the exorbitant price for a part that shouldn’t even wear out like that (or that quickly), the only alternative is to buy third party brackets to secure the visors instead. These brackets are not made or offered in any way by Jeep or mopar. Broken visors on 2018-2024 models are a well-known and very common problem according to Jeep’s own service technicians and hundreds of other Jeep owners online. Jeep/stellantis should be forced to issue a recall on the visors / install for free the necessary securing brackets and offer full refunds to any customers who already paid out of pocket to get their visors replaced at the dealership. The part/design itself is faulty and having them replaced without the addition of extra securing brackets only guarantees that they will break again in the future. Having the sun visor suddenly fall / hit you / dangle in front of your face while driving is an absolute safety hazard and it’s shocking that nothing has been proactively done by Jeep to address this concern.

22 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/30/2024

The driver-side visor in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited jl which has been repaired previously, continues to fall out of its bracket. This presents a significant safety risk while driving in bright conditions when the visor is unavailable to block/screen sunlight.

23 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/19/2024

Sun visor arm has broken multiple times and fixed by Jeep multiple times at my expense. This is a known issue by Jeep. They used a cheap plastic pin in the design. Each time the visor arm breaks the visor drops down into my line of sight blocking my view of the road. This is a hazard and Jeep should be forced to fix every sun visor with a metal pin.

24 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/18/2024

My soft top has never been unzipped, and the back plastic windshield has started to come apart. This causes water to get into my car when it rains. So much water got into my car from the exposed opening in the back window, my car jack actually rusted and cannot be used, so now I have no jack for my car. This opening also causes bugs to get in and lay eyes or make nests, putting me at potential risk to get stung. The water has also caused a build up of dirt on the back windshield, causing extreme difficulty to see out of the back windshield.

25 Wiper problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/13/2024

There is a water leak from the dash mirror that has not been repaired by the dealership 4 times that has been taken for the same issue. When it is raining, and vehicle is moving the water comes out of the mirror area and prevent a clear visibility in the traffic. It may damage the electrical connection that run by this area or and produces a metal corruption. . .

26 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

I have had the rear defroster tab re soldered at dealer under warranty. I don't use the rear defroster because it is parked in garage. After a cold spell at the end of January 2024 heading out on road trip I turned on the rear defroster, 5 minutes down the road the rear window exploded sending glass everywhere. When inspecting the broken window I noticed a burn mark on a sticker where the tab is connected to the glass. This could have caused an accident if traveling on the highway. Jeep has been repairing window tabs when they should be replacing the entire window.

27 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/23/2024

Wiper quit working. We replaced fuses and relay, we replaced wiper motor did not help problem, we replaced wiper switch didn't fix problem and still trying to order a new fuse box to try that and still not working we are still without wipers and trying to track down the problem to get them to work.

28 Wiper problem of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/19/2024

The windshield wipers just stopped working. They worked two days before. Turned the car on, windshield wipers came up even though they were not turned on, stuck in the up position and stopped. Replaced motor & switch, checked the fuse and wiring, still not working. Tipm in it is bad and needs to be repaired or replaced. This is a known problem in the Wranglers from 2008-2017 and causes other safety hazards. They have replaced them in other Chrysler vehicles, but not the Wranglers. If this would have happened during a rainstorm or in other situations, this could cause someone to wreck.

29 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/06/2024

Rear defrost connector comes unsoldered. My car is a 2022 with less than 12,000 miles on it. I basically drive it during the summer months when going to the lake. I bought the car brand new as a special order and received it in March 2022. I went to use my rear defrost, for probably the first time since owning my car, and it wouldn’t work. I took it to the dealer to have the defrost fixed- but now I’m being told it’s not covered, as windows are only covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles. It’s not my window- it’s the defrost! from a simple online search I can see that many people are experiencing this same issue! a car that is less than 2 years old and has about 11,500 miles on it, should t have an issue with defrost working!.

30 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/03/2024

Rear defroster failed and not covered under warranty even though the problem started while the car was under warranty. Their "fix" was to glue it back on but that didn't fix it. Now my car is out of warranty they won't fix it even though I have extended warranty from them that state that it covers electric window defoggers.

31 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/03/2024

My vehicle defrost was on for the back defroster on my way to work as it was one of the coldest days where I live. I work for the fire department and work 48 hrs on. The second day of my shift one of my coworkers noticed the back window broken out on my Jeep. Upon looking at what caused it there is burn marks where the rear defrosters touch the window. I initially called the police but they agreed the window was broken due to the rear defroster wires burning the window causing it to break out. Jeep sent out an engineer and is denying all liability. There are tons of people reporting this on the Jeep forums/blogs. I have pictures to prove the burn marks. It appears it happens so often that a Jeep sales company “quadratec” is sold out of replacement rear windows. One guy posted on the Jeep forum it happened while he was driving 70 on an interstate. Another gentleman posted it happened two times to him as his rear window just broke out. There are tons of pictures on the Jeep blog as well. I have several pictures of mine and it’s still broken. I’m due to get it repaired on Monday Jan 29, 2024. I can forward all my pictures if need be.

32 Wiper problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/20/2023

Windshield has cracked from cold to hot transition upon vehicle startup without previous cracks or chips affecting said crack line. Available for inspection. Fear of possible windshield failure/full breakage at any given point. Continued cracking during vehicle start up/cold to hot transition happened 4 more times in last 30 days. No dealer, independent service center, manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others inspection. No warning lamps or messages.

33 Wiper problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/24/2023

Drivers sun visor broke off while driving on November 2023 on a 2021 Jeep. I was driving at a residential area going 30mph. Dealership fixed it and assessed it as a safety issue. I brushed off the incident and considered it as normal wear and tear. Then in April 2024 the passenger sun visor broke off. I was on the interstate driving 70mph. I seldom carry passengers and when I do it's mostly after sunset. In both cases, we simply flipped visor down and it broke off. The roads were smooth both times. I went online to search for recalls but instead found many forums experiencing the same issue and suggesting to buy a 3rd party sun visor repair kit.

34 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/29/2023

I had gone out to do errands in the morning. My errands were in a nearby military base, approximately 4 miles from my home. When I returned, I parked in my driveway. When I went back to my vehicle to retrieve something, there was a large (approximately 2 foot) crack on my windshield. It was not there on my morning errand run and there was no other way the windshield would have cracked. This is a 2023 Jeep purchased on March 11, 2023. The vehicle currently only has 3,141 miles on it. I am concerned that there is a defect on the windshield glass, a much crucial part of a vehicle's safety feature. There are other Jeepers are reporting the same issue, but we have no place to turn to because the dealers shut us down!.

35 Wiper problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

The passenger side sun visor has broken off up inside the ceiling where it’s hinged so now it just drops down. It’s the same issue all the Jeep visors have. Jeep isn’t correcting the defect. They just keep putting the same problem out for the consumer to deal with over & over again & they’re being allowed to do that!!!.
