36 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

The sun visor at the attachment arm has broken twice now. When you go to move the visor while driving to block the sun which is impacting your vision, you now have a visor attachment break and visor is dangling by the wires in front of your face blocking your view and you get stunned that something has broken. There is no warning at all that is about to break. You have to immediately pull over and see if you can push it back up and get it to stay so you can have an unobstructed view. I search the web and there are many many many reports of this exact issue. The Jeep dealer fixed my visor so I thought I was good. Nope. It broke a second time 1 year later. This is going to be an ongoing potential safety issue if Jeep doesn’t fix the issue. I am concerned that I could wind up in an accident when this occurs.

37 Wiper problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/27/2023

The front defroster only blows out of the middle vents, no flow out of the left and right vents, causing issues with visibility in any instance where the window might fog up. I have an appointment with the service department at my local Jeep dealer on 8/02/23. As this is a known issue and there is still no recall to fix the issue I feel a complaint is warranted.

38 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/24/2023

The driver's side sun visor has broken at the attachment point to the frame of the vehicle, causing it to spontaneously swing out of place and obstructing the view of the roadway. There was no excessive force applied to this part, and there are numerous reports of this online from hundreds of other vehicle owners. Obstruction of the driver's view of the road could lead to a fatal accident, especially given that the obstruction can be sudden and without warning. The component has not been inspected since the defect occurred. There are no relevant warning lamps, or messages.

39 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/21/2023

While driving on a major interstate, on a clear day, with no outstanding or extreme influences and traveling with traffic at a standard rate of speed (70 mph), a small roughly dime sized rock hit my windshield. This resulted in an immediate, large radial crack and approximately 9 inch lateral crack across my windshield. The rock was traveling slow enough that I could see it coming. Further research shows that this is a known issue to the manufacturer and owners, which is why the manufacturer offers an upgraded glass option for durability. This makes sense for off-roading or in a way inconsistent with manufacturers recommendation, but it is a safety issue if the glass cannot maintain during normal operation. I have concerns with every rock until it is replaced. It has been inspected by manufacturer/dealer, and I am paying to have it upgraded and replaced. However, I have concerns that it may result in injuries in event of a crash, or just in the course of normal operation. In a long history of driving, I’ve never experienced such extreme damage from a minor item, which calls into question what the risk would’ve been with a more severe incident.

42 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/20/2023

The front defrost fails to blow any air on the windshield directly in front of the drivers seat, causing visibility issues in winter weather or whenever the windshield fogs up. The vehicle was brought to the dealer and the dealer indicated that the defrost is working as normal and that they just don’t blow air anywhere but in the center. Even when explaining that a windshield that ices up is a safety issue when driving, they indicated there is nothing that can be done.

50 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/27/2022

Driving in weather from -4c to 0c with medium snow coming down. Normally not a problem at all. Was with a friend in a ram 1500 2019. We both had stock led headlights. Within approximately 5-10 minutes the snow flakes directly infront of the car but above the hood height got brighter and brighter even though my high beams were off. My headlights also lacked any beam distance at all. I was forced to reduce speed to 10 miles per hour unless other cars headlight were illuminating the area infront of my car. My friend was still able to go 40mph safely and comfortably. Traffic was passing me constantly on the snowy road due to my inability to go a reasonable speed and having nowhere safe to stop. Upon stopping I found a caked layer of snow on both headlights complete diffusing their beam into every direction including vertically up into the snowflakes that had been so disruptive to my ability to see. On the remainder of the drive home I had to stop every 15 minutes (5 times) to clear the snow from the lenses. The diffusion of the beam also meant that while my beams were less bright, they were always in the eyes of oncoming traffic and I would regularly get flashed with high beams to let me know.

51 Wiper problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/17/2022

Driving my vehicle and around 20,000 miles had all lights come on. Lost power steering wind shield wipers randomly going off and then it goes away once powering off. I took it to my dealer and they worked on it and said nothing was wrong. A week later it happened again. This time the vehicle wouldnt turn back on for about 30 minutes. Going threw a round a bout I will randomly lose all control and almost crash. I have had at least 4 or 5 close calls do to no power steering and lose of traction control. No dealer or mechanic can figure it out. It is throwing 37 codes. Hundreds of people on these Jeep forums have had the same issue for the same year. No one can figure it out. Several have crashed. My wife has almost died when she lost traction control in a blizzard. It has been months and now my vehicle is up to 42000 miles and its sitting there because now I'm to scared to drive it. It gets stuck in park and randomly powers down. This is a serious safety hazard and someone is going to get killed from a crash if this isn't addressed. All codes are related to abs and can bus but it has only fixed about 5% of the vehicles when they replace those parts. Come inspect it yourself I am available any time!!!.

52 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/15/2022

Systems that failed, my defroster only blows straight up about the width of the rear view mirror. Causing my windshield to fog or ice and I not be able to see. Dealer will not look at it until the 14th of Dec. They are unwilling to provide a safe loaner in the meantime. No warning lamps my frame undercoating is already coming off making me very concerned about rust down the road the welds on my frame have porosity in a fair amount of welds. This worries me if I would ever be in a collision that the frame would not hold up. Also, longterm I'm worried about the porous welds harboring salty water and rusting out the welds. Causing the strength of the weld to be weakened. Not to mention a porous weld in general is a weak weld.

53 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/01/2022

One side of the the visor on the drivers side continues to fall out. Seems it’s a compression based design.

54 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Both drivers and passenger side sun visors have fallen off at the hinge with minimal use. Vehicle is under 60k miles and bought new.

55 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/30/2022

Both of the sun visors became loose and the driver side in particular will dangle down in front of windshield, blocking vision. This is a common defect on Wrangler jl/gladiators that is the result of a design flaw in the retaining mechanism. This can happen without notice and while driving at any speed. For me it happened on interstate that the visor fell down, blocking my view.

56 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/03/2022

I was driving during the night and suddenly the driver sun visor fell apart I was driving on the freeway the windshield on Jeeps is little plus the visor on the way was kind of dangerous I had to hold it whit my hand to be able to make it home now I'm just wondering if the dealer is going to cover the repair costs and put something better on place it really is a safety issue that needs to be fixed some how.

57 Wiper problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/01/2022

Heater core constantly “clogs” and no longer blows hot air on drivers side of the vehicle. Either through the defroster vents or floor vents, this makes it difficult to defrost the drivers side windshield or side window (can’t see side mirror!). Jeep wants me to spend &3500 to replace entire system!!!.

58 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/21/2022

Sun visor - while driving on the interstate, the sun visor detached from the attachment point and obstructed my vision. I pushed the shaft back up and wedged it to get home. I will take it to the dealership to have the sun visor replaced.

59 Wiper problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

The door locks will unlock and lock by themselves. Without anything being touched. It does it so often that it will run the battery dead at night as the headlights come on every time the vehicle unlock is triggered. Also the horn will sound for no reason. Unprovoked at all hours. No warning whatsoever.

60 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

Visors are not able to be used due to breaking—this happened within 2 years of purchasing the vehicle and there are forums of over 22 pages dedicated to this issue. I was driving, and the visit just fell from the roof, plastic piece holding it broke, it just dangles from a wire. Cannot see while driving into sun and I am unable to use my visors as a result. Extremely dangerous.

61 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/07/2022

Drivers side sun visor fell from hinge and is hanging by electrical cords. Sun visor spontaneously and repetitively smacks driver every time it drops back out of mount. Resulting in an obstruction of drivers field of view when operating vehicle. Tried to make a service appointment with several local dealerships but all advised of this issue not being a recall therefore not knowing of such problem. There are several incidents documented online in forums by other owners of the same sun visor equipment malfunctioning but no address of such issue by manufacturer. Dealerships seem to handle this issue on a case by case basis. However, sometimes the dealerships are replacing the faulty sun visor with the same faulty sun visor assembly and components - recycling the issue again as a quick fix.

62 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/03/2022

Unknown.

63 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/16/2022

My back window on my Jeep Wrangler will not zip back up all the way. I have only unzipped the back window once, and that was to wipe the inside of the window because it was hard to see clearly though the back window. When I tried zipping the window back up, the zipper did not zip up all the way, and now there is an opening, and water is getting into my Jeep. The zipper has never been used except this time, so I could clean the inside of the window. This incident happened about a month ago, and now so much water has come through the opening, it has rusted and ruined my brand new jack and jack lift that came with my Jeep. Rain gets through the opening, especially if it rains really hard, and a puddle of rain will stay on my soft top, and when I go to drive it after the puddle of rain has been sitting on top of my soft top, that puddle drains right down the pack of my top, and gets down into the hole. I have also noticed bugs and insects getting through that hole and into my vehicle. Mosquitos usually always get through that opening every time it rains, and wasps get through it too. With wasps going in and out of this opening, I fear they may try to build a nest in my car, since they come and go out of that opening. I have 2 small children, and cannot drive around with this opening in my soft top with my kids. That it a dangerous situation, and the rain getting into that hole is ruining the inside of my Jeep.

64 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

My driver's side sun visor does not stay in place while driving and pops out of its holder, even if the visor is folded up out of the way and not being used. When the visor pops out of place, it hangs by the wires for visor mirror lighting. I purchased my vehicle new Feb 2020, and my vehicle currently only has about 10,500 miles. The visor began popping out of place around April/may 2022. The visor popping out of place is dangerous because 1) it happens while driving, especially over rough roads, and this obscures my view of the road (!!!), 2) it has happened multiple times, unpredictably, and 3) I cannot use the visor to block out bright light while driving because it falls out if I fold down the visor, which makes it difficult to drive comfortably around sunrise or sunset. On August 15th, 2022 went to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle (autonation Jeep bellevue in washington state) to get this problem looked at as my vehicle is still under warranty. The service center confirmed the problem, as mentioned in the invoice, and they mentioned they would have to replace the entire sun visor assembly. However, I have not heard back from the dealer concerning replacement as likely the parts are on back order. The pictures I provided are for the visor popped out showing the visor popped out of place when it was supposed to be in the folded up, out of the way position, and the folded down position as well as the hinge that seems to pop out of place. According to different forums of owners of Wrangler jl like mine, visors popping out of place are frequent problems, and replacing the visor with the same visor assembly only temporarily fixes the problem because replacement does nothing about the bad design that leads to the visor falling out of place.

65 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/24/2022

Drivers side visor fell from mount and dangled by wires in front of me while driving. I needed to hold the visor with my left hand while steering with the right until I could come to a safe stop. Not ideal when the sun is in shining into my eyes. I was able to jam the visor back in but it will fall out if I move it too much, so I dont use it. The dealer said they had never heard of it and wants me to leave it with them but that is very inconvenient and I dont expect them to fix it under warranty. The internet has many accounts of this happening and diy modifications to fix it.

66 Wiper problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/07/2022

My windshield has cracked 2 separate times. I got it fixed by safelife after the first, the second just happened today. Both times I never heard anything hit the window and the crack just appeared. I had a Jeep Wrangler before this one and never had any issues with the windshield. This one is brand new and has been on the road since Nov 2021 and now has 2 issues. It leads me to believe it is a manufacturing issue. I work from home and don’t drive very often, when I do it’s highway. I just can’t believe that it has cracked twice.

67 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

The driver's side sun visor falls down blocking your view while driving. It pops out of the socket meant to secure it. In researching how to fix it, I located many threads and concerns, including homemade fixes (due to costs) but many things fail causing it to fall down. One person said they were hit in the head with it. From online comments, most fail after the 3 year warranty. As mine did. Estimates online show it costs around $400 to fix. There is already limited vision in Jeep windshields, this is a major concern as the only way to fix is to hit it hard back into the socket. . . . While driving. I've used a hand gel container to even my hard cell case to secure it. Thank you for considering. I believe this has been an on-going issue with Jeeps with older recalls. . Read more...

68 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/20/2022

Driver's side sun visor mount failed while driving. Had visor unclipped to block sun in driver's door window while driving on freeway. Mount broke and the visor unexpectedly hit me on the left side of my head, startling me and and almost caused an accident. The wires from the homelink switch group was the only thing that stopped it from falling off. From reading online this is a pretty common problem. There are aftermarket parts to fix the problem.

69 Wiper problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/19/2022

The front windshield defrost doesn’t work as it should. The windshield will ice up on the driver side and passenger side and create major visibility issues. The blower only seems to blow heat to the center of the windshield and not the sides.

70 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/12/2022

I have had the rear defroster tab re soldered twice and the rear glass completely replaced. The second time the tab was resoldered 2/11/22, the next time I started the vehicle to warm up, the rear defroster was on and the entire rear window shattered.
