1 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 2015 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 09/04/2018

On 9/4/18, while driving on the parkway I noticed my car was sluggish & making a noise upon acceleration. I thought it was my muffler because I didnt have any warning lights illuminated on my dashboard to indicate a major problem. As I exited the parkway, my car stalled & I coasted to the side of the road. I was able to start it a couple more times before it died for good. I had the car towed to the neptune NJ kia where we authorized a $400 partial tear down of the engine which we thought was to diagnose the problem but it was only to take some pictures of the engine & oil filter for the warranty dept. We were then asked to provide maintenance records which we couldn't since my husband did the majority of work & we didn't think to keep receipts being that we'd never been in this situation with our other cars. We've been fighting this for a couple months now but our warranty has been denied for "lack of maintenance" as they stated we have sludge in our engine. However, this problem is bigger than my lack of receipts. Lack of receipts doesn't mean lack of maintenance! kia has a huge problem with their engines and they're using this technicality as a way to deny coverage even though their own 2015 warranty manual states "warranty coverage will not be denied solely because there is no record of maintenance. However, failures caused by lack of required maintenance are not covered by the warranty. " where's the proof we did anything wrong? to this day they still "dont know" what went wrong with my car as there were no fault codes pulled from my ecu & a full engine tear down was not done. Also, the dealer said they are now out of $7k long blocks for my car wonder why? and told me I'd have to go with a short block at a cost of $17k (extra parts & labor required) or figure out how to get an engine on my own. This is happening to too many people & needs to be addressed!.

2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

Upon service station oil change engine warning codes p0024,p0014 showed immediatley next morning. Wix filter, mgd mgl 10082, bought by my mechanic from oriellys auto parts had no resemblance to original filter even though advertized as oem replacement. This had perforated metal shell and solid rubber top and bottom when kia version is fan folded paper all over it damaged engine vvti, cam exhaust manifold warning since this is a oil timed engine . I did not drive it until fixed, oil switch, and pressure sending unit. 100% percent of oil had been forced out top of engine and pooled in the v6. Several technical sites say these filters design have failed including redesign. Now oriellys and wix are dragging thier feet imn fixing this and reimbursing me for exspense. Not even thier product. I was driving vehicle less than 20 miles.

3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 2009 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

Constant pool of oil under the hood. (to me it is in the engine compartment - I've been told it's near the transmission case and also told it's near the intake manifold). The oil pool was first noticed by my husband when he was checking our fluids before a trip. It was pointed out to the dealer in July when we were there with engine problems and they "cleaned oil off" as stated on invoice. When questioned about it they had no answer as to what it was from. The oil was there again and has been there constantly since July. The dealer tells us it's oil that's been spilled from oil changes but everytime they clean it off it appears again. The oil was cleaned off twice in October but it's still there. Engine is also very loud and vibrates. Manufacturer was notified in July - no work performed other than wiping it off and no diagnostics to figure out where it's coming from.
