Alternator/generator/regulator Problems of Kia Motor Sephia

Having trouble with drivers side window. It will work then the motor/regulator gets stuck and won't function. Then all of a sudden it will work then not work. I just want to find out what's causing problem. All wires to switch tested positive power is going to and from motor/regulator to all switches. I have a 1997 kia Sephia rs and I have replaced the alternator belt 11 times and 4 of those have been in the last 3 months. I am unable to get any answers about why the belt keeps breaking from any repair shop, other than it must be a sizing defect by kia. This last belt was replaced 6/05 and broke off again 8/17/05. I can only seem to get about 1-3 month use from a belt. I checked with the previous owner of the car, which I knew and she indicates that she had the same problems. I now have spoken to another kia Sephia rs owner same year and they got rid of theirs for that very reason.

When vehicle was being driven it cuts off without warning. Also, will not start back up. Consumer has to get it towed every time. Then, it is towed back to dealer, yet, dealer cannot find out the problem. Consumer states he is afraid that he or his daughter is going to get hurt. Consumer adds there is sudden acceleration then slowing down of the vehicle without brakes being applied. Experiencing fuel relations problems possibly related to the fuel box. It is also possible that the alternator and battery failed.

Since we bought the car we had a recall on January of 2000 for electrical system. After that we had problems with engine light going on that was due to transmission problems,wish in fact had to be repair twice and replace once. Also air bag light turn on due to alternator problem on 02/05/2002,alternator had to be replace. I would like to see a resolution to this problem because of the matter of fact the car shoulb be under the lemon law. Thank you.

The consumer believed a defect existed within the vehicle's electrical system/alternator. The consumer had to replace 3 failed batteries since the vehicle was purchased. The dealer advised the consumer the vehicle was not driven enough for battery to charge itself. Failures occurred on 07/01, and 06/03 respectively. This was the third battery that was placed in the vehicle.

The ignition key would turn, dealer could not duplicate the problem, also vehicle would not start, dealer replace the battery and alternator.

Car is just a lemon every siince we purchased it. We tried to get our money back(paid cash)and we were not able to per the car dealer,etc. Nothing is ever repaired to the standard and we are upset.

I will never ever ever buy another kia--this car is a piece of junk!!!.

I felt that buying a new car would mean not having to worry about putting it in the shop as often as I have had to do. Other than the alternator, there have been two other times when my "new" car had to be worked on. Luckily I still have a warranty, but I am extremely unhappy with the quality of my kia.

Vehicle seemed to have problems starting 2 or 3 times previously but eventually started up. I have also found out that this vehicle may have been previously owned by orlando barringer of memphis, tenn. When I call the 24hr road side assistance that is the name that appeared when the VIN was entered. Also when I call the atlanta dealership to verify that my vehicle was there, I was told that they were unable to pull up my information. I believe that I may have been sold a used vehicle.

On March 18 1999 my car would not start up instantly I had to try a few times to start my car and after three tries it finally started I took it to the dealership and thats when I found out I needed a new starter, flywheel,fuel trim malfunction, new dtc groung improvements procedures.

Oh sirs, there are plenty more parts/components on this vehicle that has failed.

Numberous problems - not starting/ brakes need to be replaced several times/ shimmies between 15-45 mph, I had to have my tires replaced prematurly/ has horrible rattle/gas tank spilling gas and gas never showing full/dealer never cooperative can never find problem until a recall or car has to be towed. They had my car for 6 weeks and couldn't figure out what was causing shimmy problem it has been almost a year. I am about to contact attorney to sue dealer and manufacture. Please do something about these cars they are a hazard to the consumer!!!!.

I have problems starting up the car, it does not matter whether during the day or night. When I put the key in the ignition I have to try at least four to five times befor it clicks over to start. It just clicks instead of starting right away. I took the car back four(4) times to repair, and still problem not solved.
