Both lower control arms have gone at the same time. . . At 65,000 miles. . . Which when I checked with repair shop is highly unusual that at this low miles one would go let alone both. . . He said it is a quality issue. Kia says its not covered. . . When went to get out of drivers side the door handle snapped off. An electrical problem with heater/air conditioner. . . Took to kia east syracuse, NY they said they don't make them any more because so many problems.
Over a period of time, approximately 70,00 miles on my car, the ac/heater fan motor will blow air intermittently, regardless of the fan's speed setting. Eventually, the fan stops blowing all together. This same problem has happened on my 1998 kia Sephia as well.

The car died while driving down the road repeatedly. Battery leaked. Brakes had to be replaced for the entire car at 60,000 miles. The vents on the dashboard have popped up and broken. Now the defroster does not blow the air on the windshield. This vehicle was stored in a garage. The seams on the seat come undone. The cigarette lighter broke and flops in the dash. The switch to override the transmission lock is broken. The rear brake light broke when replacing the struts which you have to remove the back dash to get to. The board that is under the carpet in the trunk warped. The carpets came up from the sides of the car. The storage bin in the center console broke, twice. The wind shield chips and errodes when in a car wash. I have never seen a windshield in this bad shape before. The back seat does not stay down. The headlights have a bad seal and there is water now in them. The rubber around the doors comes out repeatedly. Gear shifter is continually stuck. Brakes take twice as long to stop my car as any other vehicle I have ever driven. I have to drive 2 & 1/2 hours to get repairs. The gas milage is closer to 24 mpg then the 35 that was marked on it when I bought it. There are noises from the engine compartment that are loud and unpleasant. There is a ground fault wire that is bad they want $75 an hour minimum of 10 hours to repair it. The fuse panel cover broke. The headlights cannot be alligned.
The vehicle cut off. The dealer stated that the fuel pump was defective. Also, the alarm system was defective. The dash board light was intermittent.
Consumer complained about the electrical system. The lights won't stay on. Consumer replaced fuses several times. However, the problem still occurred. Consumer took vehicle to dealer, but consumer was unable to duplicate the problem.
Over a period of time, approximately 70,00 miles on my car, the ac/heater fan motor will blow air intermittently, regardless of the fan's speed setting. Eventually, the fan stops blowing all together. This same thing has happened with my 1999 kia Sephia.
My car is in the shop for the third major repair in less than 2 years. First, in Jan. Of '04 there was a leak in the block. That required the entire engine to be replaced ($3,800). Then, 2 months ago, the entire electrical system had to be replaced ($1,567) and now it is in the shop to have the compressor and belts replaced($975). The dealership also does not offer a loaner car and I cannot afford to rent.

Engine stalls intermittently for no appearent reason in traffic.
When getting my 3,000 maintenance. The service man told me that they would not perform the maintenance check because the car needed a new computer. The computer chip needed to be replaced, so the maintenance would not be necessary. I've called every other week, trying to find out what and were the are on getting the computer. Here it is almost June, and no replacement. The check engine light continues to gone on and off every other day. I am tired of calling the service department. I am a single mother of 3 boys with one income. That is why I purchased a kia, because I thought it was a reliable car. Can this please be investigated farther than what I can do.
While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled. The consumer tried to restart the vehicle but was unable to do so. The consumer noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood. It caught on fire. The consumer stated that there was a hard start that would not hold fuel pressure.
Air bags did not deploy, brake failure. The consumer was in an accident due to brake failure and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was totaled. The a/c had to be replaced after the first use, and the gas light stayed on. (turi miller can be reach as well d-715 726 8887 or h-715 833 6309 and via email-turijo@yahoo. Com).
Consumer stated that headlights changed from bright to dim constantly. First they were bright, then they gradually became dim. The consumer took the vehicle to several mechanics and was told by that there was nothing they could do because this was a manufacturer's defect. The headlights never stopped working, they just dimmed enough that it was hard to view in front while driving. There was trouble with the keyless entry. The vehicle locked up would not unlock. While driving, the problem seemed worse at a moderate steady speed.
