My car is in the shop for the third major repair in less than 2 years. First, in Jan. Of '04 there was a leak in the block. That required the entire engine to be replaced ($3,800). Then, 2 months ago, the entire electrical system had to be replaced ($1,567) and now it is in the shop to have the compressor and belts replaced($975). The dealership also does not offer a loaner car and I cannot afford to rent.

I have <45000 miles on my car (2000 kia Sephia) and have had to have the front brakes replaced 3x and the back brakes replaced 1x. Also, when I turn on the ac, there is a loud noise from the front of the car. The car hesitates when trying to get up to speed. The car also feels like it is trying to pull something of great weight when driving at 55 mph. The back seatbelts do not always lock. The dealer informed me that the seat belts are only to lock when the brakes are slammed or the vehicle is hit (so how is a child booster seat supposed to stay put when the vehicle is in motion?).

Brakes are wearing out excessively & deteriorating. Whenever brakes are applied, they cause vehicle to shake. Took vehicle to dealer & mechanic changed pads & warped rotors. Also rotated & cleaned the brakes. Rear seat belt lock is too high. Air conditioner draining on floor, dealer cleaned a/c drain. Consumer feels a hard shock when shifting into gear. Engine hard to start, dealer replaced the flywheel. Binding lever failed on the parking brake.
Rotors and brake pads replaced twice. Rotors warped and pads glazing. Complained thats brakes were not working right, and not stopping right. Started to file lemon law, and went to informal arbitration. Kia motors refused to do anything. Was going to file with the state when the brakes failed and resulted in an accident. I have noticed many of the same complaints about the brakes with Kia Motors, on NHTSA web site. Does someone have to get hurt or die in a car crash before kia will address the problem with their brake systems being placed on these cars, which has a major defect in them, causing accidents. Thank god my daughter was wearing her seat belt when the accident occured. The insurance company has totaled the car!!!!!! I will procide to sue Kia Motors for their failure to address such a serious problem.
Signal lights fail to work properly when in use during cold weather for 15 minutes or so. Sometimes this happens when it's raining. The dealer replaced the hazard switch and there have not been any failures since. Seat belts have been replaced 3 times. Brakes and rotors have been replaced 3 times. Windshield wipers failed prior to recall. Head gasket replaced at 3500 miles. Molding on the doors fell off and was replaced. Tailpipe was replaced due to excessive exhaust fumes.
